Chapter 82 Charles is an Illegitimate child.

The next day.

Alan went to the hospital to collect some documents from Martin.

Martin's sharp and unwavering eyes stared at him, their depths murky and unfathomable, making it hard to discern his emotions.
Alan felt a chill run down his spine from being stared at like that, and a sense of foreboding overwhelmed him, urging him to escape from there.

"If there's nothing else, boss, I'll head back to the company." Alan tried to excuse himself.

Martin reclined on the sofa, elegantly crossing his long legs together. He twirled a jade thumb ring on his left thumb.

His look expressionless, as he asked in a deep voice usually reserved for intimidation tactics in negotiations.

"Are you hiding something from me?"

Alan felt as if he had been thrown into an icy cellar, his whole-body shivering. Under the piercing gaze of Martin, he remained frozen.

With his neck stiffened, Alan shook his head and tried to sound calm as he replied.

"No, how could I hide something from you?" Martin tugged at his lips, smiling but the smile never reached his eyes.

"Alan, you've been with me for so long, you should know my temper better than anyone. Deception is something I cannot tolerate! Tell me, what did Patricia want from you last night?"

Alan's forehead twitched, realizing the trouble he was in. Oh no! The boss must have found out about me meeting his wife last night.

How should he respond? Should he tell the truth? Alan’s mind was in turmoil.

Seeing Alan's silence, Martin's expression darkened.

"Are you planning to keep hiding it?"

Alan's scalp tingled, recalling Patricia's instructions. He gritted his teeth and mustered up the courage to say, "Madam asked me to find someone for her."

Martin pressed further, "Who?"

Alan shook his head. "Madam said I couldn't tell."

"...??" Martin squinted his eyes, staring at him ominously.

After what seemed like an eternity, he suddenly let out a low laugh. Though his laughter chilled Alan to the bone, his voice remained icy and cold.
"Well, well! I never knew you and Patricia had such a close relationship, so much so that you would betray me for her! Alan, you're impressive."

Despite the boss's laughter, Alan was filled with horror.

He knew it was a sign of the boss's anger. If he continued to hide the truth, his fate would be miserable.

If the boss misunderstood his relationship with the Madam again, he would never be able to clear himself.

After struggling internally, Alan silently apologized to Patricia in his heart. He closed his eyes and explained.

"Boss, I'm sorry. I didn't intend to keep it hidden. Madam specifically instructed me not to tell you."

"And then?" Martin gazed at him, like a king holding the fate of the world.

Alan made his decision. "Madam's son was abducted by human traffickers in front of the kindergarten yesterday. She asked for my help to find him."

"Son?" Martin subconsciously looked towards Randy.

Alan knew he misunderstood and quickly clarified, "Not Randy, it's another son."

By not revealing Charles' identity, he was doing the most he could to help Madam.

Martin's pupils contracted sharply. "Another son? She has another son?" He questioned.

Randy, who had been eavesdropping on the side, suddenly sat up on the bed.

"Alan, what did you say? My mom has another son. Is it my little brother?" He asked excitedly.

Alan realized that things seemed to be getting out of control.

"Well, I think so!" Alan said unsure either way of the order of their birth.

Martin stood up abruptly and approached Alan step by step. Frost covered his entire face, making him look like the devil emerging from the darkness.

"Patricia got married again?" Martin asked directly.

Alan couldn't meet Martin's eyes and lowered his gaze.
"That is Madam's private matter, I didn't inquire further." Alan answered directly.

Martin laughed, his handsome face turning into a terrifying demon. His heart felt like it was being grasped by invisible hands, causing him immense pain.

Almost unable to breathe.

"Very good, using my people to replace her illegitimate child, very well!" the venom in Martin’s words were unmistakable.

Alan: "......??" Illegitimate child?

Martin's sinister eyes revealed a chill.

"Bring back everyone now, no one is allowed to help her." Martin ordered Alan.

Alan paused and hurriedly persuaded, "Boss, this doesn't seem right. If something happens to the Madam's son because of us, she will never forgive us in her lifetime, especially you!"

Martin retorted, "What does her forgiveness or lack thereof have to do with me?"

Thinking about Patricia divorcing him and immediately marrying another man, he was consumed with jealousy, wishing he could tear that man into pieces.

"Boss..."Alan said pleading.

Alan wanted to continue persuading him, but unfortunately Martin's mind was clouded by jealousy, and he refused to listen to anything.

"You don't have to say anything more, this is my order. If Patricia has any complaints, tell her to come to me!" Martin said asserting his authority on the matter.

With the words said, Alan knew that the boss had made up his mind, so he stopped saying anything, took the documents, left the sickroom, and immediately sent a message to Patricia after getting in the car.

"Madam, I'm sorry, I can't continue looking for Charles for you. The boss is very angry after finding out about this and doesn't allow me to continue the investigation. If you want to find Charles, it's best to ask the boss yourself. I can't help. P.S. Boss doesn't know that Charles and Randy are twin brothers. He thinks Charles is from your previous marriage with another man. Whether or not you tell the boss the truth, it's up to you."

At this moment, Patricia was driving through Ivara City frantically looking for Charles.

She had searched almost every possible hiding place but still came up empty-handed.

Having not slept the entire night, she looked exhausted, with bloodshot eyes. After receiving Alan's message, a surge of anger rushed to her head, igniting a fiery rage in her chest.

She parked the car on the side of the road and dialed Martin's number.

The call was immediately disconnected as soon as it went through. Not giving up, she dialed another number.

But the result was the same, the call was disconnected right after it connected. She knew that Martin was forcing her to come and see him.

With gritted teeth, Patricia turned the car around and rushed to Ivara City Hospital at the fastest speed, kicking open the door of the sickroom to vent her anger.

"Martin, what do you mean? Why are you stopping Alan from helping me?" Patricia asked storming into the room.

Martin was already angry, and when he saw that she not only didn't apologize but spoke so brazenly, he laughed.

"Using my people to find an illegitimate child for you, Patricia, you have some nerve." Martins' words were laced with sarcasm.

Hearing him call Charles an illegitimate child, Patricia's face distorted in anger, and she swung her hand towards his face: "I won't allow you to call Charles that."

"Slap..." the sound reverberated in the room. Her hand landed squarely on Martin's face.

Patricia didn't expect him to not dodge or avoid it, and he actually took this slap head-on, leaving her stunned.

The air around them instantly turned frigid.

All around them... It was eerily quiet.

Randy was also stunned, unable to believe that someone would dare to hit his father.

After a moment, Patricia managed to gather her thoughts and stammered, "I-I didn't mean to, I thought you would dodge! I'm sorry..."

Layers of gloom appeared in Martin's eyes, his handsome face burning with pain, but it was nothing compared to the anguish in his heart.
"Does it hurt? Do you want me to apply medicine for you?" Patricia asked.

As she tried to examine his wound, but he swatted her away, his expression as if he wanted to kill, gritting his teeth and saying,

"Patricia, you'll never see that illegitimate child again in your lifetime!"

After saying that, he took out his phone and dialed the police department directly.

"Recall all the personnel involved in the search for Charles' disappearance. From now on, I don't want that illegitimate child to ever appear in Ivara City."

His words lashed at Patricia like a whip.

Thinking about the missing Charles, she felt completely broken, and blurted out, "Martin, you can't do this, Charles, Charles is actually..."
