Chapter 924 A Henpecked Husband

Austin just stood there, giving Quentin the cold shoulder, not moving an inch.

Quentin's hands started shaking like crazy.

He saw Charles and the gang already far ahead and wanted to catch up, but his legs felt like they were made of lead.

Quentin thought, 'Does Austin know that Lisa and I are cool with Charles now? What the heck do I do? Austin saved my life and has dirt on me.'

Quentin didn't dare piss off Austin.

Just as he was debating whether to go explain things to Austin, Austin suddenly smirked and walked off.

Austin didn't say a word.

He didn't even text, just bounced.

Quentin freaked out even more.

If Austin had said something, at least he'd know what to do.

Now that Austin said nothing, it was even worse.

'What should I do? Should I go find Austin and pledge my loyalty?' he thought.

While he was hesitating, Lisa's voice came from the restaurant, "Quentin, why are you just standing there? Get over here! Mr. Watson's already seated."

Quentin shivered, checked to make sure Austin was really gone, then forced himself to move inside.

The meal was pretty straightforward; it was just to make Charles and Hannah's relationship official.

Lisa was super attentive, constantly telling Charles to eat more. But ever since Quentin saw Austin outside, he was spaced out, just holding his utensils and lost in thought.

Charles noticed and asked, "Uncle Quentin, you okay? Feeling sick?"

Quentin didn't even hear him, still in a daze.

Lisa elbowed him hard and whispered, "What are you doing? Charles is talking to you! It's rude to ignore him."

Quentin snapped back, realized his mistake, and quickly apologized, "Sorry, I was just thinking about something! I just want you and Hannah to be happy! Our family's always been broke, and a few years ago, I got really sick and it wiped out our savings! So Hannah's been super responsible, always working part-time to support herself! Everything she has now, she earned it! If you ever stop liking her, please don't hurt her. Just tell me, and I'll take her back."

Hearing Quentin's words, Hannah teared up.

She knew Quentin meant every word.

Even though Quentin had hurt her because of their poverty, deep down, he still wanted the best for her.

Charles raised his glass. "That'll never happen! I promise to love her forever and give her the best life."

Quentin raised his glass too. "If that's the case, then great! I wish you both happiness!"

"Thank you!" Charles said sincerely, made a toasting gesture, and downed his wine.

Everyone had a great time at the meal.

When they left the restaurant, Charles handed the car keys to Quentin. "My assistant finished the transfer this morning! If you can't drive, I can get you a driver."

Lisa's eyes lit up. "Really?"

Quentin felt awkward and tried to give the keys back. "No need! This car's too fancy. I don't feel right driving it! You should keep it!"

Lisa, worried Charles might take it back, snatched the keys and stuffed them in her pocket. "Thanks! If you can get a driver, that'd be awesome! I can't drive, and Quentin's health isn't great! It'd be a waste to leave such a nice car unused."

Charles got the hint and smiled. "I'll arrange it ASAP!"

Lisa was thrilled, immediately hopping in the car and checking everything out.

The whole car interior was decked out in genuine leather. It felt way different from those cheap taxis, and the comfort level was off the charts.

This ride was pure luxury.

It was Lisa's first time ever sitting in such a fancy car.

Quentin was kinda annoyed by her excitement but played it cool and asked Charles, "Now that you've given us the car, how are you getting back to the hotel?"

Charles shrugged. "No worries. I'll just take another car!"

Right then, Wyatt pulled up in a sleek black Maybach and parked behind the Rolls-Royce.

Quentin's smile froze. 'Are rich folks really this loaded? They don't even treat money like money!'

It was his first time seeing two such expensive cars at once.

Seeing the Maybach, Lisa hopped out of the Rolls-Royce and circled the new car, her eyes practically sparkling with greed.

'Oh my God. Charles is seriously loaded. We couldn't afford one of these even if we saved forever, but Charles has two, maybe more!' she thought.

Charles said, "This morning, I had Wyatt buy a fully furnished four-bedroom apartment in a new development in the city for you! The place you're living in now is too old and damp, which is bad for your health. You need to move to a place with good lighting and ventilation."

As he spoke, he reached out to Wyatt.

Wyatt respectfully handed over the keys.

Charles gave the keys to Quentin. "These are the access card and the keys to the apartment! The main door has a fingerprint and password lock, so once you move in, you can set it up yourselves. If you don't know how, I can have my assistant take you there now and set it up for you."

Hearing this, Lisa felt like she was dreaming.

She'd never been particularly lucky, but with Charles as Hannah's boyfriend, she no longer had to worry about money. It felt unreal, but she was loving it.

Quentin tried to act indifferent, but he couldn't hide the grin on his face.

After explaining everything, Charles got into the car and left.

Quentin and Lisa stood there, watching him leave until the car was out of sight, then they couldn't contain their excitement and started screaming around the Rolls-Royce.

Quentin was so happy he completely forgot about seeing Austin.

On the way back to the hotel, Hannah kept a stern face and didn't say a word.

Charles pulled her into his arms and asked with a smile, "What's wrong? Why are you mad again?"

Hannah angrily pulled away from his embrace. "Why did you give them the new car and a house? You said last night that you settled it with money, but you didn't say you spent so much."

Just thinking about Lisa and Quentin's behavior earlier made her fume.

He gave away the car and the house without even blinking.

Seeing her puffed-up cheeks, Charles found it amusing and poked her cheek with his finger.

"Go away!" Hannah angrily swatted his hand away.

Charles loved seeing her angry like this.

She looked like a three-year-old kid.

He pulled her back into his arms, not giving her a chance to struggle, and said with a smile, "Those things are nothing to me, like pulling out a hair! But you are different! You are my most precious gem, and trading a hair for a gem is a great deal for me!"

Hannah was both angry and amused.

Although his words made her happy, thinking about the car and house he gave away made her heart ache.

Hannah said, "From now on, you can't give them such expensive things without discussing it with me first, or I'll break up with you."

Charles kissed her hard on the cheek. "Yes, ma'am! I'll strictly follow your orders and be a good henpecked husband."

"You just know how to make me happy," Hannah said.

No matter how mad Hannah was, she couldn't stay mad now. She playfully punched his chest.

Charles hugged her and laughed, unable to stop kissing her face, as if he could never get enough.
