Chapter 46 Unexpectedly, There Are Two Randy

Chapter 46 Unexpectedly, There Are Two Randy

Patricia arrived quickly and was visibly angered by the sight of Charles in Martin's arms.

Charles knew he had done something wrong and tried to appease her with a smile, sweetly calling out, “Mommy!”

Patricia laughed sarcastically, her face darkening as she turned to Charles. "How could you be with Daddy?" she demanded with a frown.

Sensing her anger, Charles quickly jumped out of the car and tightly hugged her legs, rubbing his small head against them. “Mommy, I'm sorry. I knew today was Daddy's new product launch, so I wanted to go and cheer for him. I was afraid you wouldn't agree, so I snuck out.”

Patricia immediately understood the hidden meaning in his words. Her eyebrows twitched, and she forcefully forced a smile.

“Don't run around next time. If you do, I'll break your legs!”

Her words bothered Martin, his furrowed brows, clearly making his displeasure clear.

“While he may be at fault in this matter, aren't you also at fault? Didn't you promise me that you would take good care of Randy? He has been out of the hospital for so long, and you didn't even know. What kind of mother are you?”

Patricia was in a state of shock and clearly, at a loss for words. She couldn't tell Martin that this wasn't Randy, could she? Charles didn't like Martin bullying Patricia, so he immediately hugged her tightly and said with determination.

"Daddy, don't bully my Mommy. If you bully Mommy again, I won't like you anymore!"

Martin's face instantly turned cold, his heart sour, but he hesitated to act out in front of Charles. He grumbled to Patricia, "Take care of him, I have some matters to attend to at the company, so I'll leave first."

"Alright, leave!" Patricia's voice was urgent, clearly wishing for Martin to leave quickly.

"...??" Martin clenched his teeth, frustrated and gave her a fierce glare before getting into the car and leaving.

As soon as Martin left, Patricia immediately twisted Charles' ear without any hesitation.

"Tell me, what exactly are you planning to do? Acting recklessly with Fannie? What if your father really takes Fannie to get a DNA test? What are you prepared to do then?"
Charles' ear hurt from being twisted, and he whimpered, "Mommy, it hurts, it hurts...my ear's going to fall off..."

Patricia, still angry, said, "If it hurts, will you remember your lesson?"

Charles smiled awkwardly and said, "Mommy, Fannie and I went to seek revenge for you! And since I had to let my sister go, I made it one hundred percent sure that she would come back unharmed. Look, we managed to get out of trouble smoothly, right?"

Patricia's heart ached with anger.

She wanted to give them a stern lesson, but she couldn't bear to, so she released his ear.

"Your Daddy didn't bully me, and I didn't suffer any grievances. I don't need you and Fannie to take revenge for me! I just want you and Fannie to stay safely by my side. Mommy has already lost Randy, I can't lose you and Fannie too. Do you understand?"

Seeing her mother's reddened eyes, Charles felt a surge of guilt in his heart. He lowered his head and reproached himself.

"Mommy, I'm sorry. I won't act so irresponsibly with Fannie anymore. Don't be angry! No matter what happens, Fannie and I won't leave you. And that’s a promise!”

Patricia crouched down, holding him tenderly in her arms, gently patting his back with the palm of her hand, "Sweetheart, I’m not angry, I’m is worried about you! I don't want anything bad to happen to you and Fannie."

Charles felt even worse, saying, "I'm sorry!"

Not wanting him to blame himself too much, Patricia took a deep breath, forced back her tears, and smiled contentedly.

"I know you're a sensible and good child! I'll call Jade to come and pick you up."

Charles wanted to go back by himself, but he didn't want Patricia to worry, so he nodded in agreement.

The Ivara City hotel was not far from here, about a ten-minute drive. Patricia held Charles's hand in the parking lot, while they waited for Jade.

Little did they know, Gladys has been keeping a close eye, and even now she was not that far away.

Gladys, on the other hand, sat in the car, overwhelmed with disbelief, convinced she had made a mistake thinking she had made a mistake, continuously rubbing her eyes.

Earlier, when she came down, she had clearly seen Randy in the hospital room. Had she really misunderstood or was there something else going on?

Frowning, Gladys pondered for a while, then opened the door and got out of the car, leaving quietly and without making even the slightest sound.

*****

The parking lot, back at the hospital.

Patricia arrived at Randy's ward as if nothing had happened. And as soon as she saw Randy lying in bed with an IV drip, her pupils trembled, and her mind was blown away. Once again, she could not believe what she was seeing.

There were actually two Randys! What on earth was going on?

She thought to herself, “I should inform them about this right away...”

Meanwhile, Jade brought Fannie to the hospital parking lot, and without any further delay, Patricia began giving them instructions, on how to take care of the kids. Patricia was really keen on them leaving quickly.

As they were leaving the parking lot, a champagne-colored BMW passed by them. Jade furrowed her brows slightly, sensing that the BMW looked familiar. It seemed like it belonged to Debbie's student, Gladys.

Could it be that she had been here all along?

With this thought in mind, Patricia immediately took out her phone and called Charles.

"Charles, when you get back, check the surveillance footage from the parking lot and see if Gladys was here. I suspect she might have seen you..."

"Understood! I'll do it right away!"

After ending the call, Charles took out his laptop and quickly operated it with his fingers. First, he erased Fannie's figure from the hotel's surveillance footage, then he hacked into the hospital's parking lot surveillance footage to carefully search for Gladys' presence.

As expected, he found Gladys. She was parked about three or four floors away from them. Charles saw the champagne-colored BMW, he remembered the license plate number from when the car was captured on the dash-cam, when Debbie and her mom were involved in an accident. So he was sure that the car indeed belonged to Gladys.

Immediately, the car door opened, and Gladys got out stealthily, slinking down the hallway. Charles swiftly switched the surveillance view and clearly saw Gladys entering the ward building. Charles promptly hacked into the floor where Randy was located, to confirm his suspicions.

As Charles had expected, after leaving the parking lot, Gladys did come to Randy's room and stood outside for a long time. Charles' suspicions were confirmed, and a cold smile appeared on his refine thin lips.

"They just can't let it go and are continuing to scheme against mom."

Fannie caught on to the tone of his voice and thought Patricia was in trouble again, asking anxiously, "Charles, is someone trying to hurt mom again?"

Patting her small head, Charles reassured her, "Don't worry, I will protect mom. I won't let anything happen to her."

Fannie understood, and had full faith in Charles' abilities. If Charles had said he could protect mom, then he could definitely do it.

On the other side, as soon as Gladys left the hospital, she headed straight for the Watson family.

Before going to the Watson family, she briefed Debbie about the situation. Debbie was already waiting for her on the first floor.

When she finally arrived, Debbie couldn't wait to ask, "Is what you said on the phone true? There really are two of them? There are two Randys!?"

Gladys emphatically declared, "Yes, I'm sure there are really two of them! Don't believe me? Look at the photos I took..."

With that, she took out her phone and pulled up the photos she had just taken and showed them to Debbie.
