Chapter 104 Martin Catches Fannie, Patricia and Charles Together
Observing her expression, Martin smirked, his smile devoid of warmth, and said, "Remember me now?"
Seeing his gloomy face and eerie expression, Fannie's heart skipped a beat and nearly jumped out of her throat.
She forced herself to remain calm and said, "I don't know you, who are you? Let me tell you, this is a public place. If you dare to kidnap me, I'll shout for help."
Martin dismissed her words, saying, "Is that so? Well, go ahead and shout! Let's see who dares to interfere."
Fannie suddenly fell silent, puffed up cheeks, and glared at him indignantly, like an angry little frog. Martin was amused by her adorable appearance, causing a softness to seep into his heart.
"If you want me to let you go, answer a few questions for me."
Fannie cautiously watched him, asking, "What questions?"
Martin inquired, "Who sent you to disrupt my new product launch? Is it C? Where is C now? How can I find him?"
Fannie stubbornly replied, "You're bombarding me with so many questions, how do you expect me to answer?"
Martin calmly responded, "No rush, answer one by one! Start with the first question, who told you to disrupt my new product launch?"
Fannie's eyes darted around mischievously and she slyly said, "I don't know his name, I only heard others refer to him as Mr. Thompson!"
He didn't believe her at all.
In his eyes, this little girl was clever and cunning, with intelligence surpassing girls of her age. Every word she said couldn't be fully trusted.
Upon hearing his words, Fannie's face turned red with anger.
She stood with her hands on her hips, puffed out her cheeks, and said indignantly, "What do you mean? I'm only four years old. Do you think I can lie?"
"......??" Martin's mouth twitched.
So? Is there any necessary connection between age and lying?
Not believing him, Fannie's small chest violently rose and fell, "What's that expression? Don't you believe me? Do you think that a cute and innocent little girl like me would be so scheming?"
Martin chuckled twice, "I've never seen a four-year-old girl disrupt a press conference or call a stranger Daddy."
Fannie's watery eyes immediately filled with tears. Her small shoulders trembled, looking pitiful.
"Do you know why I casually call strangers Daddy?"
Although Martin knew she was acting, he couldn't help but ask, "Why?"
Fannie, with her acting skills on full display, squeezed her eyes and tears began to flow. Her eyes turned red, resembling a pitiful little rabbit.
"Five years ago, my dad abandoned my pregnant Mommy for his mistress. I've never seen my dad since I was born. These years, my Mommy has been acting as both a mom and dad, working three jobs a day just to support me. She has ended up in the hospital several times from exhaustion. Do you know what the other kids call me? They call me illegitimate, saying I don't have a dad. I truly, truly long for a dad."
Not sure if it was her acting skills or the gripping story, Martin's emotions were unknowingly drawn in.
Fannie continued, "From the moment I saw you, I felt an inexplicable familiarity. I really hope you are my dad, so the other kids won't dare to bully me anymore."
After finishing, tears streamed down her face. With a runny nose and tear-stained cheeks, it seemed quite serious. Listening to her story, images of Patricia struggling to raise Charles flashed in Martin's mind.
These years must have been so difficult for Patricia!
Was Charles also called illegitimate by others?
At the thought of this, his heart clenched with pain, regretting why he had divorced Patricia.
Seeing him remain silent, Fannie thought her story had worked and took the opportunity to break free from his grasp, throwing herself into his arms and purposely smearing her tears and snot on his expensive suit.
"Do you believe I'm suffering as well? Uncle, please don't blame me. I ventured into this business with the intention of earning money and alleviating my mom's burdens. I promise I won't repeat it. Please, spare me this time, okay?"
Martin was almost fooled by her pitiful appearance.
Fortunately, he regained his sanity at the last moment and grinned, "If you want me to spare you, it can be done."
Upon hearing this, Fannie's eyes lit up with hope.
Fannie's eyes immediately lit up, and she looked up at him, unable to contain her excitement as she asked, "You really are willing to let me go?"
Martin nodded, "You disrupted the last product launch, and soon our company will hold another one. You will personally clarify things for me then. Do you know the amount of damage you caused me when you made a scene last time?"
Fannie instinctively responded, "Didn't we make up for it later?"
As soon as the words left her mouth, she realized she had accidentally revealed something she shouldn't have. She quickly covered her mouth, only revealing her big round eyes.
Martin immediately caught the loophole in her words, raised an eyebrow playfully, but didn't expose her right away, instead he said with hidden meaning, "However, the damage to my reputation caused by you can only be remedied by you."
Thinking that he hadn't noticed the implication in her words, Fannie let out a sigh of relief.
Martin noticed every subtle change in her and the smile at the corner of his mouth deepened, "Is it acceptable? If it is, I'll let you go."
Fannie didn't dare to refuse as long as she could escape.
She nodded vigorously, "Acceptable, acceptable. As long as you let me go, I'll do anything you ask."
Although she agreed verbally, she was secretly planning.
Her father and brother had already recognized each other, so if she stepped in to restore her father's reputation, Charles shouldn't be angry, right?
If Charles didn't agree, she could just hide again and prevent this obnoxious man from finding her.
Martin said, "Just in case, can I have your mom's contact information?"
Fannie was afraid he would discover her identity, so she hurriedly said, "My Mommy is too poor, she doesn't have a phone."
"......??"
Fannie thought he didn't believe her, so she nodded earnestly, "It's true, we're too poor to afford a phone."
Martin stared at her without blinking for a moment, then suddenly laughed.
"Basque Taste, the most expensive Chinese restaurant in Ivara City. People who can afford to eat here can't afford a phone? It seems like you didn't deliberately make a mistake. In that case, you'll follow me for these few days! I'll let you go back after the launch event is over."
Fannie was scared, and quickly recited a string of phone numbers.
"This is my mobile number, let's contact each other directly! I don't want my Mommy to know about this, she'll worry."
Following the number she provided, Martin dialed the phone. Fannie's toy phone in her pocket immediately rang.
After confirming it was her mobile number, Martin let her go, "Remember, don't run away. No matter where you go, I can find you."
Fannie pouted impatiently, "I know! Can I leave now?"
Martin waved his hand, indicating that she could go. Fannie glanced at him with a resentful look before quickly leaving.
Her gaze made Martin pause for a moment, feeling a slight pang in his heart. He couldn't understand why she was looking at him with that kind of gaze.
It was as if he was just as much of a jerk as the one who abandoned her and her mother.
After gaining her freedom, Fannie ran all the way to Room 005, not caring about the presence of anyone else in the surroundings.
Andy was present, panting, and said, "That damn father is here. I need to hide first. Please don't mention me at all!"
The people in the private room were all stunned at the same time.
Charles was the first to react and hurriedly said, "Jade, you go back with Fannie first. We can't let Daddy know about her relationship with us."
Although Fannie and Jade didn't look alike when they were alone, being together made them look like mother and daughter. Their damn father was so smart; he would definitely suspect something. He had already been exposed, and Fannie couldn't be exposed any further.
Jade understood their concerns and didn't dare to waste a moment. She picked up her bag and was prepared to hold Fannie's hand and leave.
However, as soon as she turned around, she saw Martin standing outside the door, his face pale.
