Chapter 850: Personal Care, Relationship Deepens
Hannah took Charles to the hospital which Wyatt had specified. The hospitalwas near the company, so they arrived quickly.
By the time they reached the hospital, Charles' fever had worsened, and he was already delirious.
Hannah placed him on a bench in the hospital's waiting area and went to register.
It was Monday, and the hospital was crowded with patients.
She waited in line for a long time and she finally got registered.
After registering, she continued to wait in line at the doctor's office.
The place was full of patients.
Hannah felt uneasy and bought two masks from the hospital's convenience store, one for Charles and one for herself.
Seeing the number of people on the display screen, Hannah hesitated about calling Wyatt to cut in line.
There were still dozens of people ahead of them.
By the time it was Charles' turn, he might have already passed out from the fever.
Hannah looked at Charles, who was slumped against the back of the bench, delirious from the fever. She reached out to touch his forehead, but quickly pulled her hand back in shock.
Hannah was shocked, "Your forehead is so hot, even hotter than before."
Charles didn't seem to hear her, his head moved slightly but he didn't respond.
Worried about him, Hannah found a nurse to take his temperature.
It was 102 degrees Fahrenheit.
The nurse was shocked by the high temperature.
The nurse asked, "How did it get so high?"
Hannah was also frightened, "I don't know! He was just a little unwell this morning, and the temperature wasn't this high! What should we do now? There are still dozens of people before us. Will such a high fever cause brain damage?"
This couldn't lead to brain damage. Such a brilliant mind, it would be a pity if it got damaged!
The nurse said, "Support him and follow me, I'll get you to cut in line! He needs to see a doctor immediately. We can't delay."
Hannah said sincerely, "Thank you. Thank you so much!"
After thanking the nurse, Hannah immediately helped Charles up from the bench.
At this moment, Charles had no strength left and his entire weight was on Hannah.
He was a head taller than Hannah, and with his large frame, every step was a struggle for her.
Fortunately, the doctor's office wasn't far from the waiting area, so they arrived quickly.
"Doctor, this patient has a fever of 102 degrees Fahrenheit, please take a look and see what needs to be done!" The nurse explained the situation to the doctor.
The doctor asked Hannah to lay Charles flat on the examination bed and then went over to check his condition.
The doctor asked, "Besides the fever, are there any other symptoms? Does his stomach hurt? Or is there any other discomfort?"
Hannah replied, "He didn't say anything hurt, but he was coughing this morning."
The doctor pressed on Charles' stomach while asking, "Don't sleep now. Tell me, does it hurt here?"
Charles, forced awake by the doctor, was still in a daze. He shook his head at the doctor's question.
The doctor pressed another spot.
The doctor asked again, "What about here? Does it hurt?" Charles shook his head again.
The doctor pressed several more spots, and Charles shook his head.
The doctor said, "So far, it seems to be acute flu! I'll prescribe some fever-reducing medicine first. Go to the pharmacy to get the medicine. Let him take it, and then take him for a blood test. The exact cause of the fever will depend on the blood test results."
Hannah said gratefully, "Okay! Thank you, thank you!"
After thanking the doctor, Hannah tried to help Charles up from the bed, only to find that he had fallen asleep again.
Helplessly, she had to wake him up, "Mr. Watson, Mr. Watson."
Charles didn't respond.
Hannah gently patted his face and changed the way she called him.
Hannah called, "Charles, Charles, can you hear me? Wake up, I need to take you to get the medicine."
Suddenly, Charles slowly opened his eyes, looking deeply at her. He asked in a hoarse voice, "What did you just call me?"
In his daze, he heard her call his name.
It was the first time she had called him by his name.
Usually, whether at the company or in private, she always called him Mr. Watson.
He had a strange feeling when hearing her call.
Hannah, however, had no time to overthink. Seeing him awake, she immediately put his arm over her shoulder, "Come on. Let's get the medicine!"
Charles, feeling a bit better, tried not to put his weight on Hannah as he got up with her help.
They walked very slowly.
Hannah first placed Charles on a bench to rest, then queued up to pay the bills and get the medicine.
She also got a disposable cup from a nurse, filled it with warm water, and helped him take the medicine.
Charles fell asleep again.
Hannah woke him up once more and personally fed him the medicine.
Charles was still groggy and hedidn't hear what she said. He just felt something being put into his mouth, followed by warm water.
Instinctively, he swallowed the water.
Hannah breathed a slight sigh of relief and gently wiped the water from his mouth.
Hannah said, "Finally, you took it! Let's go for the blood test!"
Charles nodded weakly and stood up with Hannah's help.
Charles was extremely weak. The lab was on the second floor, and the pharmacy was on the first floor. Despite the short distance and taking the escalator, it still took them over ten minutes.
After the blood test, they had to wait for the results.
Hannah sat with Charles on a bench to wait.
Charles fell asleep again.
His face, which was pale as snow in the morning, was now flushed red from the fever, and his forehead was covered in sweat.
She took out a handkerchief, carefully wiped the sweat on his forehead, and occasionally got a cup of warm water for him.
While waiting for the results, she kept an eye on his temperature.
After sweating, his temperature gradually went down. Although it was still a bit high, it was within a safe range.
Charles first slept with his head against the back of the bench, but now he was leaning on Hannah's shoulder.
Hannah didn't dare to move, carefully adjusting her position to make him more comfortable.
Charles' breathing became lighter.
Hannah finally felt somewhat relieved.
After a hectic morning, she was about to close her eyes for a short rest when Charles' phone suddenly rang in his pocket.
Afraid of waking him, she quickly took the phone out of his pocket.
The screen flashed "Queen."
Hannah was slightly stunned.
'Queen? Who could that be?' Hannah wondered.
Puzzled, Hannah answered the call, "Hello, who is this?"
The person on the other end was clearly surprised to hear a woman's voice.
When the other person didn't speak, Hannah frowned and asked again, "Who are you? Can you hear me? If you don't speak, I'm going to hang up."
As soon as she finished speaking, an excited, shrill voice came from the other end of the line.
The voice was so loud it almost shattered Hannah's eardrum.
