Chapter 659 Patricia Tracked Billy
Billy had gone missing.
For a full two days, there had been no sign of him, as if he vanished into thin air.
Maximilian had successfully passed the critical period, moving from the ICU to a regular ward. He woke up briefly in the evening and then fell back asleep.
Patricia had been highly anxious for a few days but finally got a chance to relax and rest.
Carol and Kaleb stayed by Maximilian in the ward.
Kaleb noticed how much Carol had slimmed down and looked worn out these days. He felt sorry for her and said, "Carol, you've been by Maximilian's side for days now and must be tired. Go back and rest first! I'm here."
Carol shook her head. "No, I want to wait for Maximilian to wake up. I want to be the first person he sees when he opens his eyes."
Kaleb wanted to persuade her further, but suddenly, there was an urgent knock on the ward door.
Both of them were startled and exchanged a glance.
Kaleb said, "Come in."
The door was pushed open from the outside, and Joe and Susan hurriedly entered. They found only Carol and Kaleb inside and began searching everywhere.
Kaleb asked in confusion, "What's wrong? What are you looking for now?"
Joe anxiously asked, "Kaleb, have you seen Billy? Did he come to apologize to you?"
Kaleb shook his head. "I haven't seen him since that night we parted ways."
Kaleb and Billy were not biologically related, so it was normal for them not to contact each other for two or three days, even a week.
Kaleb didn't see any issue with that.
Moreover, after what happened that night, Kaleb assumed Billy would be too embarrassed to face him for a while.
"What's wrong? What happened? You didn't hit him, did you?" Kaleb asked.
Joe's face turned red with anger. "That scoundrel ran away, hiding somewhere! I've been looking for him for two days. He doesn't answer calls or reply to messages. Later, he even turned off his phone. He did something wrong, showed no remorse, and instead evaded responsibility! How did I raise such an irresponsible son?"
Susan worriedly asked, "Could something have happened to Billy? He never ignores my calls."
The sudden abnormal behavior of Billy made Susan inexplicably fearful and anxious.
Since learning that Billy had caused the deaths of innocent Linda and attempted to harm Maximilian, Susan had cried so much that she almost went blind.
She couldn't believe Billy had turned out this way.
While Joe was frantically searching for Billy, she had been searching for him, too.
But it had been two days, and there was no news at all.
Billy was responsible and had never disappeared like this before.
Susan was truly afraid and anxious.
Joe was still furious.
"What could happen to Billy? What could happen? In Country D, who doesn't know he's my son, Joe's son? Who dares to touch him?" Joe said angrily.
It was precisely because of this identity that Billy dared to act recklessly and lawlessly.
Susan thought what he said made sense.
In Country D, who didn't know about the Hill family and the Taylor family? Who would dare to offend them?
Carol was puzzled. "Dad, Mom, what's going on? What happened to Billy? What did he do? Why are you so angry?"
Billy had always been very sensible and obedient since he was young, and he was never scolded by his parents.
Occasionally, when Carol was mischievous, Billy would plead for her, and her parents would let her off.
Carol had never seen her parents so angry before.
Joe's veins bulged on his forehead as he looked at the still unconscious Maximilian on the hospital bed, then at Kaleb's face, which had become thinner. He clenched his fists in anger.
"That scoundrel, he... he..."
Kaleb didn't want to tarnish Billy's image in Carol's eyes and interrupted, "Let's not get angry now. Let's keep looking! Maybe he'll come back in a couple of days."
Joe clenched his fists so hard they cracked. "If Billy dares to come back, I'll break his legs and make him kneel in front of you to apologize."
After saying that, Joe looked at Carol and said, "If Billy contacts you, tell me immediately."
Carol was frightened by Joe's demeanor and dared not ask anything else, obediently nodding.
After Joe and Susan inquired about Maximilian's condition, they left to continue searching for Billy.
It was only after they left that Carol couldn't help but ask Kaleb, "Kaleb, what did Billy do? I've never seen my parents so angry before."
Kaleb gently rubbed her head, knowing how close they were as siblings. Unable to bear seeing her upset, he comforted her. "It's okay. Everything will be fine when he returns."
Carol anxiously asked, "Is it really okay?"
Kaleb smiled and nodded. "Trust me, everything will be fine! When Maximilian wakes up, everything will go back to normal."
Carol naturally believed him and obediently nodded.
During these two days, Patricia had been staying in the ICU. Just like Carol, Patricia was also oblivious to all things. It wasn't until she returned to Martin's ward and heard Ryan explain the whole situation that she learned the truth, her eyes widening in disbelief.
"It was actually Billy!" she exclaimed.
For some reason, upon hearing it was Billy, Patricia was surprised but strangely felt it was normal.
Perhaps it was because Billy had the same back view as Maximilian.
Perhaps subconsciously, Patricia didn't want it to be Maximilian.
Compared to Billy, she definitely preferred Maximilian.
Ryan excitedly nodded. "Yes! Martin is really smart. With one move, you exposed Billy's true face! Billy is also foolish, not knowing to find someone else to do it and doing it himself."
Patricia picked up a fruit knife and a pear, peeling the skin while saying, "This matter has also come to an end! Although many things happened, Kaleb is willing to continue treating Martin, which is our biggest gain."
Ryan nodded. "Yes! After all the trouble Billy caused, he unexpectedly ended up shooting himself in the foot! He really deserves it, creating his problems."
Patricia sighed. "Yes! So, people shouldn't be too utilitarian. With his current status and wealth, what else is there to be dissatisfied about?"
"Mm-hmm! I think you're right!" Ryan vigorously nodded in agreement. "I heard he disappeared. Joe and Susan couldn't reach him. He must be scared, so he's hiding."
Patricia said, "He cannot escape. He will show up eventually."
Sure enough, those words came true soon.
That night, after three days of guarding the ICU, Patricia slept heavily in the hotel.
The next day, she got up early to go to the Taylor Residence to prepare medicine for Martin personally.
Just as she got out of the ride-hailing car and hadn't entered the villa area, a familiar figure appeared in her line of sight.
Patricia trembled all over.
It was Billy!
Where was he going?
Why did he come back but not go in?
From a distance, Patricia saw Billy answer a phone call and then get into a black sedan parked not far away.
Was he leaving?
Could Billy be up to no good again?
Afraid that he might harm Kaleb and Maximilian again, Patricia, without hesitation, got into the ride-hailing car and said, "Please follow that black sedan in front—"
