Chapter 1170 Hannah and Austin Leave

When they got to the airport, Austin spotted Hannah in a wheelchair and froze, his face full of worry. "What happened? Why are you in a wheelchair?"

Hannah didn't even look at him, staying silent.

Lassie stepped in, "She broke her leg in a car accident. It's not too bad, but she needs to rest for a month, so she'll be using the wheelchair for a while. And..."

Lassie's voice cracked, and she started to cry. "I won't be there to help her, so you have to take good care of her. Make sure she rests and doesn't try to walk around."

Austin nodded earnestly, "Don't worry, I'll take care of her. I want her to get better more than anyone."

Lassie wiped her tears and, along with Carter, walked them to the boarding gate.

Lassie kept glancing back at the airport entrance, her mind racing.

How were things going with Charles?

Why hadn't Patricia sent any updates yet?

Austin and Violet were about to board the plane.

What should she do?

Austin, always observant, noticed Lassie's frequent glances and asked calmly, "Mom, what are you looking at?"

Lassie, quick on her feet, glared at him and replied nonchalantly, "What else? Patricia found out about this and is really upset, but she couldn't stop it, so she insisted on seeing Violet. Who knows where she is now?"

Austin frowned. "They know about this?"

Lassie replied, "Of course they know! When the kidnapper called Violet, Charles was right there. If Patricia hadn't tricked him into leaving, do you think you'd have the chance to leave with Violet?

I believe you won't harm Violet, but Charles doesn't trust you!

In any case, don't disappoint me! If you do anything to hurt Violet, I won't let you off."

Her words successfully dispelled Austin's doubts.

His mother was right; if he and Violet just left, it would seem suspicious.

He had seen Violet and Charles's love firsthand.

Given Charles's feelings for Violet, he wouldn't let go easily, unless there was some conspiracy.

However, Austin was always cautious. He spoke seriously, "Violet, just in case, please give your phone to Mom."

Hannah understood his concern and handed her phone to Lassie without a word.

Lassie's expression changed several times. "Why give me the phone? How will I contact her?"

Austin smiled, "Mom, we all know Charles's capabilities! He could easily track Violet's phone. Do you think I'd fall for his tricks again?"

Lassie anxiously said, "Not this time! When you arrive, I want Violet to call me and let me know she's safe!"

Austin calmly replied, "Whether she does or not isn't up to you! I trust you, but I don't trust Charles!"

"You..." Lassie was furious.

Austin reassured her, "Don't worry, when we arrive, I'll have her call you to let you know she's safe!"

His words left Lassie speechless.

She was livid but couldn't find a way to argue.

Even though Hannah had handed over her phone, Austin was still cautious. He called over a female airport staff member to search Hannah thoroughly.

After confirming there were no tracking devices on her, he checked the wheelchair inside and out, ensuring everything was clear before relaxing.

"It's getting late; we need to go!" Austin urged after the inspection.

Lassie was sweating with anxiety, desperately thinking of ways to delay them. Just then, Patricia arrived. "Wait. Wait."

Hearing Patricia's voice, Lassie breathed a sigh of relief and quickly called out to Austin, "Hold up, Patricia's here! Let her see Violet off."

Austin, about to step forward, turned back and looked behind him.

He saw Patricia holding a thermos, which she handed to Hannah. "Just in time! Drink this beef bone soup quickly! The doctor said you need bone broth every day for your fractured leg. You won't be able to drink it once you leave."

Hannah was momentarily stunned but quickly reacted and cooperated, "Thanks, Patricia, for bringing me the soup."

Patricia, with teary eyes, looked at her reluctantly, "I can't bear to see you go!"

Then she glared at Austin, gritting her teeth, "Austin, I hate two people in my life: Hunter and you! Meeting you two has been the worst luck of my life! But you'd better not let us find you! Otherwise, I'll make sure you pay."

Austin didn't relax his guard because of her words. When Hannah took the thermos, he snatched it first, checked it thoroughly, and even stirred the soup with a spoon before handing it back to Hannah.

Patricia looked at him regretfully. "You're so smart; why don't you use it for good? You're always thinking about stealing someone else's girlfriend! If you used your intelligence for good, you might be as successful as Charles. It's a shame. Truly a shame. Your adoptive parents taught you well! If they knew you'd turn out like this, they might have regretted adopting you."

She was deliberately provoking Austin!

The harsher her words, the less suspicious Austin would be.

Sure enough, Austin's emotions were affected by her words, his hands clenched into fists to suppress his guilt and self-blame.

He had struggled with his decisions.

When he saved Violet, he had struggled with whether to send her back or take her away.

When he pushed his father down the stairs in Country H, he had struggled.

When he had Tina hypnotize his father to ensure he never woke up, he had struggled.

Every time he did something against his parents, he felt conflicted and guilty.

However, his desire to possess Violet ultimately won.

He loved Violet and wanted her.

To be with Violet, he was willing to betray, be abandoned, and lose everything.

One wrong step led to another, and there was no turning back.

Hannah finished the beef bone soup and, while chewing the meat on the bone, felt something hard against her teeth. She immediately eased up and swallowed it.

After finishing the soup, Hannah handed the empty thermos back to Patricia. "Patricia, I'm leaving! Tell Charles I'm sorry! I can't watch Oliver get hurt because of me! I have to leave him!

Tell him not to be sad. After I board the plane, he should personally go to Country D to bring Oliver back!"

Patricia nodded, "I understand! Don't worry, I'll handle things here!"

"Thank you!"

With her assurance, Hannah felt relieved and boarded the plane with Austin.

They didn't bring any luggage, just the wheelchair.
