Chapter 1211 Fear of Unexpected Events

Charles smirked. "You're a smart cookie. You get what I'm saying, right?"

"You want to put a tracker in Austin too?" Tina's tone was more of a statement than a question.

"Exactly! Even though he's on the straight and narrow now, I can't take any chances! Letting him go is like strapping a time bomb to myself! I gotta be careful."

Tina sighed. "But Austin won't listen to me! Ever since the Harper incident, he hasn't spoken to me!"

Charles was unfazed. "If he's mad at you, it means he cares. If you didn't matter, he wouldn't be upset. I believe in you; no one else can do this."

"But..." Tina hesitated.

Charles cut her off. "I trust your hypnosis skills! You'll get it done without anyone noticing! Once it's over, you can leave peacefully, and I can sleep easily."

"Isn't it enough that you have me?" Tina's heart ached at the thought of hurting Austin.

"You two are separate people; you can't be with him every second! What if something goes wrong and you're not there? You can't afford the risk!

Letting him go is already a huge risk for me! To keep Hannah and my child safe, I need to know his every move."

Tina knew she had no choice. "Fine! Bring Austin here, and I'll hypnotize him. You can have the doctor implant the tracker while he's under.

Once it's done, I'll make him sleep for three days! By the time he wakes up, the wound will have healed, and he won't suspect a thing!"

Charles grinned. "I knew you'd come through! I'll have Carter bring him to Sunshine Manor, saying he can see Hannah.

After he sees her, you can hypnotize him! Leave the rest to me!"

Though Tina felt heartbroken and guilty, she agreed for the sake of their freedom.

Charles called Carter in front of Tina.

When Austin heard he could see Hannah, he rushed to Sunshine Manor immediately.

Seeing Hannah lying quietly on the bed, all his pent-up longing surged forth.

Golden sunlight streamed through the window, casting a serene glow on Hannah's face.

Austin couldn't remember the last time he had looked at Hannah so peacefully. Ever since Charles showed up last year, there had been constant tension between him and Hannah.

Every time he saw her, he felt a sense of dissatisfaction.

Seeing Charles made him even more resentful.

But today, though he still felt a tug at his emotions and some lingering dissatisfaction, he could stand there calmly.

"How much longer will she sleep?" Austin's gaze lingered on Hannah's face, but he directed his question to Tina.

Tina patiently explained, "She'll definitely wake up by tomorrow night at the latest!"

Austin, still worried, asked, "Are you sure?"

Tina confidently assured him, "Absolutely! You know my skills!"

Hearing this, Austin finally relaxed. He reached out to touch Hannah's face but hesitated and pulled back awkwardly.

Tina grabbed Austin's arm.

Austin instinctively shook her hand off.

Tina, undeterred, grabbed his arm again. "Austin."

Austin still resented her for betraying him. Hearing her call his name, he turned impatiently, "What do you want? You..."

Before he could finish, his eyes seemed to be under a spell, staring unblinkingly into Tina's eyes, unable to look away.

Tina snapped her fingers near his ear and took his hand. "Come with me. I'll take you somewhere."

Austin, like a puppet, obediently followed her towards the door.

Lassie and Carter, stunned, were about to intervene when Charles stopped them. Charles signaled them to stay calm with a look.

After Tina led Austin out, Charles, pressed for time, quickly explained to Carter and Lassie, "Carter, Lassie, you stay here and take care of Hannah. I'll be right back!"

"You..." Lassie started to ask, but Charles, knowing her concerns, explained, "I know you're worried about Austin. He's my cousin. Rest assured, no matter what happens, I won't harm him! Even if you don't trust me, surely you trust Tina! She would never do anything to hurt Austin!"

His straightforwardness made Lassie feel a bit embarrassed. "I'm not afraid you'll hurt him; I just don't know what you're planning, so I'm a bit uneasy! Since you put it that way, go ahead! We'll watch over Violet."

"Alright!" Charles nodded and left.

Tina led Austin to a room Charles had prepared in advance. The bed was made with fresh linens. Austin lay quietly on the bed, eyes closed, hands neatly folded on his chest.

The Langley family's doctor, in a white coat and mask, was preparing for the procedure. To reassure Tina, Charles explained, "I specifically asked the doctor. For a minor procedure like this, we don't need an operating room. Local disinfection is sufficient! There won't even be a scar."

Tina, staring unblinkingly at Austin, replied with a bitter smile, "I know! Even though I studied psychology, I have some medical knowledge."

After a brief silence, Tina continued, "Actually, it's already a lot that you're letting him go. I shouldn't expect more! Compared to what he's done, this bit of suffering is nothing. What he did deserves the death penalty. Now, not only is his life spared, but Carter and Lassie, whom he cares about most, have forgiven him! They've even given him the Country S branch! For him, this should be enough! No regrets."

Charles looked at her deeply, thoughtfully saying, "You're a good woman."

But Austin couldn't see it.

Tina laughed self-deprecatingly, "A good woman? Ha."

Charles, never good at comforting people, especially women, said, "Austin is angry now, but once he calms down, he won't blame you anymore."

Tina smiled bitterly, "Whether he blames me or not doesn't matter. As long as he's safe and can live well, even if he blames me for life, I don't care."

With nothing more to say, Charles chose to remain silent.
