Chapter 1062 Investigating the Relationship Between Austin and Tina

Stella's offhand remark made Charles squint slightly, as if pondering the issue.

Austin's face darkened instantly, and he said harshly, "Stella, what nonsense are you spouting?"

Stella sneered, "Nonsense? Why don't you take a look in the mirror? I'm all too familiar with that look in your eyes. You used to look at Hannah the same way. If I didn't hear wrong, you just said you only met her once. You fell in love with her at first sight?"

She added, "Let me tell you, you can like anyone but this woman. She hypnotized Hannah, disregarding her safety, just to get what she wanted. A woman who will stop at nothing to achieve her goals—it's best to stay far away from her, or you'll suffer later."

Lassie looked at Austin in confusion. "Austin, is what Ms. Reed said true? Do you like Angela?"

Austin found them ridiculous. Especially their speculations. He liked Tina? Impossible! From beginning to end, he only ever liked Hannah.

He looked at Lassie and said, exasperated, "Mom, what are you talking about? I like Angela? Today is only the second time I've seen her. How could I like her?"

Stella retorted, "Then why did you defend her just now? Why did you look at her like that?"

Austin let out an angry laugh. "I'm not defending her; I'm afraid if you really kill her, Hannah will never recover! My mother has told me about Hannah's condition! I'm worried about Hannah, not defending Angela."

Pausing, he continued to explain, "As for that look you mentioned. Even more laughable. Was that a look of affection? I was thinking about how to get her to end Hannah's hypnosis."

His explanation was reasonable. Stella believed him. But she asked, "Austin, haven't you always been too proud to explain yourself? Why are you explaining so much today? It makes you look guilty."

Austin replied, "Whether I explain or not, you still have something to say. What is it? Do you have to pin a crime on me to be satisfied? Stella, I know you don't like me, but there's no need to make wild accusations. In this relationship, I was never at fault; I was the one who got hurt from start to finish. You should be grateful that I can let bygones be bygones! The fact that I dared to come see Hannah today means I have a clear conscience."

Hearing his words, Stella awkwardly touched her nose. In fact, it was true. They were a perfectly good couple, and she forcibly introduced Hannah to Charles, breaking them up.

As the injured party, it was indeed not easy for Austin to stand here without breaking ties with Charles She really shouldn't have said those unjust words because of her prejudice against him.

Stella fell silent, and Charles discreetly scrutinized Austin from head to toe. For some reason, he felt something was off, but he couldn't pinpoint what it was.

When Austin looked over, Charles discreetly averted his gaze, walked to the bedside, adjusted Hannah, and covered her with a blanket.

Lassie also walked over, concerned. "Is Hannah okay? What did Angela do to her just now?"

Charles, preoccupied, didn't want to speak.

Stella briefly explained the situation to Lassie. After hearing the story, both Lassie and Austin's faces changed.

Lassie said angrily, "She hypnotized Hannah again, right in front of you. How arrogant! What is her goal? Why won't she let go of Hannah? Austin has already agreed to let her go; what more does she want?"

Stella pouted, "Who knows what she's thinking? So far, we have no idea what's on her mind. She only talks to Hannah and acts like a mute around us."

Everyone was furious. Austin listened quietly, his eyes flickering, lost in thought.

Hannah remained unconscious the entire night. After it got dark, Lassie and Austin left when she still hadn't woken up.

Stella and Randy stayed in the hospital room to take care of Hannah. Charles hesitated for a moment, then left the room and went to the stairwell to call Wyatt. "Wyatt, check if Tina and Austin have any contact in private."

Stella might have spoken carelessly, but Charles took it to heart. If Austin and Tina really knew each other, then everything Tina did might have an explanation.

This speculation was too wild. How could Tina and Austin, two seemingly unrelated people, be secretly colluding? But if Tina was really being directed by Austin, then everything seemed to make sense.

Wyatt was shocked by his bold guess. "You mean this has something to do with Austin?"

Charles frowned. "I'm not sure! But better safe than sorry!"

If it really had something to do with Austin, could they get Tina to end Hannah's hypnosis?

Wyatt nodded. "Got it. I'll check right away and let you know as soon as I have any news!"

"Good!" After ending the call, Charles returned to the hospital room.

After a while, Martin and Ryan came back.

Charles asked, "What's the situation with Tina?"

Ryan sneered, "I've never seen someone so self-aware. She walked into the police station herself, into the holding cell herself, then sat on the bed and refused to speak. No matter how we asked, she wouldn't say a word. Even I, with my good temper, almost got infuriated by her."

Stella covered her mouth and laughed. "Tina really has a knack for infuriating people! I've lived for twenty years and never met someone like her."

Ryan said angrily, "Not just you, I've lived for over forty years and never met anyone like her! Her mental fortitude is incredible; I feel inferior!"

At this point, Charles finally spoke, "She's a psychologist. She understands human nature and the human mind better than we do. She's already got us figured out. She knows that only she can end Hannah's hypnosis, and because of Hannah, we wouldn't dare do anything to her."

Hearing this, Stella got even angrier but felt helpless against Tina. "Damn, it feels awful to be openly threatened like this."

Not just her, everyone else felt awful too but had no solution.

Charles looked at the unconscious Hannah on the bed, his face dark and grim. This better have nothing to do with Austin. Otherwise, he wouldn't let Austin off this time.

Wyatt soon had results. The next day, Charles received his call. "Mr. Watson, I've found something!"
