Chapter 28 Father And Son Stand Up For Patricia

Randy cunningly rolled his eyes. He tasted every dish on the table and then spat it all out.

"The meat is too tough."

"The fish is too fishy."

"The soup is so salty, it's killing me."

"The caviar tastes fake, it's..."

"Do you really think it's because I don't want to spend money? If I can't afford it, I have plenty at home. I can give some to you."

"Crabs have a strong fishy smell."

"These dishes are really terrible, nothing compared to my mom's cooking skills."

Almost every dish was criticized as being useless, and finally came the conclusion, "Daddy, the food here is too awful. Let's not come here anymore. The people here are not good either.”

“Auntie slapped me, grandpa hit me too. They are all bad people! Only mommy is good to me. She protected me when grandpa wanted to hit me."

Upon hearing his words, Gavin's heart skipped a beat. "Randy, what nonsense are you talking about? What if your dad misunderstands? When did grandpa want to hit you? He was trying to pick up the broken vase."

While defending himself, Gavin didn't forget to tell Martin about Randy's wrongdoing. He initially thought that Martin would reprimand Randy, but to his surprise, the little guy spoke up first. “

Do you really think I'm a fool? Auntie told me that my mom is a slut and that I'm a bastard! You think you can bully us when my dad is not around. Hmph!"

Gavin broke out in a cold sweat after hearing these words. He looked at Martin and chuckled awkwardly, "It's a misunderstanding, a misunderstanding. Randy is still young; he must have heard it wrong! Martin, please don't believe his words."

In Martin's obsidian eyes, a chilling glint could be seen, "No need to explain. I have the ability to distinguish right from wrong."

Gavin fell silent, stealing occasional glances at Randy, wishing he could kill the little brat. They finished their meal in this oppressive atmosphere. After dinner, Patricia wanted to leave but was called to the study by Gavin.

Randy, feeling worried, wanted to go along, but Patricia stopped him and asked Martin to keep an eye on him while she went to the study alone with Gavin.

As soon as the study door closed, Gavin's true colors were revealed, and he went to slap Patricia across the face without hesitation. Patricia had already been prepared and took a step back, evading his hand.

Gavin squinted, his angry eyes staring at her, "You have some nerve, daring to dodge."

Patricia smirked, her lips twisting into a smile that didn't reach her eyes, "You think I'm still the same Patricia from five years ago who let you all bully her?"

Gavin was infuriated, "No matter what, I am your father."

Patricia found the term 'father' the most laughable. "Father? Just because of that word, my mother died, and I can't blame you for that. Just because of that word, when I was being bullied by Manda and her son, I couldn't fight back. Just because of that word, I agreed to marry Martin because of you, and it ended in divorce. How long do you still want to use these two words to manipulate me?"

"You..." Gavin's face turned from blue to white, overwhelmed by anger.

Patricia's nose tingled, her eyes welling up with tears. She took a deep breath, suppressing her tears, "If you called me back today just to lecture me, I'm sorry, I'm busy and don't have time to listen."

Gavin's face turned pale, and he suppressed the urge to strangle her as he asserted himself, "I want you to leave Ivara City by tomorrow at the latest! When you came back, Randy has been completely on your side, which is not favorable for Debbie to marry Martin."

Faced with his unreasonable demand, Patricia's blood ran cold, and she was engulfed in a feeling of despair and sadness, her face as white as paper.

Seeing her silent, Gavin continued, "I know where you have been living before. I have already bought your plane ticket, and tomorrow morning at eight, I will personally send someone to take you to the airport. If it's not necessary, don't come back here ever again.”

Patricia felt a chill run through her body, feeling as if something was blocking her throat, and a bitterness emerged from her eyes. After suppressing it for so many years, she couldn't hold it in any longer, and all her emotions rushed out at once.

"I am also your daughter. Why are you so cruel to me? In the past five years, you haven't cared about me and let me fend for myself. I'm back now, and if it weren't for Debbie, would you even see me? Why are you so biased? You keep hurting me for Debbie, again and again."

Gavin remained unmoved, looking at her heartbroken appearance.

"All of this is what you owe Debbie. If I hadn't married your mother twenty-something years ago, she would have been Miss. Watson. Seven years ago, if you hadn't married Martin, she would have been the rightful daughter-in-law of the Langley family. You should repay her for what you owe."

Patricia's heart felt torn, as if she had fallen into an abyss with no bottom, her eyes dull and lifeless, engulfed in complete silence.

This was her father. He could attribute all unwarranted accusations to her. This time, she was completely disillusioned with this so-called father.

"I won't leave Ivara City!"

Gavin squinted his eyes, "What did you say? Say it again?"

Patricia clenched her lips and stated each word forcefully, "I said, I absolutely won't leave Ivara City!"

"You…" Gavin raised his hand in anger.

This time, Patricia didn't dodge, she stared back defiantly, her face full of provocation. "If you have the guts, then hit me! After you hit me, I won't have anything to do with the Watson family anymore."

Gavin's chest heaved with anger. Thinking of Martin downstairs, afraid of leaving marks on her face, he forcibly retracted his hand.

Patricia emphasized once again, "Five years ago, I gave Debbie a bone marrow transplant, I no longer owe her anything. I've paid back what I owed.”

“From now on, I will only live for myself and my child. I absolutely, absolutely won't leave Ivara City, unless you take me away by force."

After saying that, without looking at Gavin's colorful face, she turned around and left without turning back. When she opened the study door and saw Martin and Randy standing at the doorway, she froze in disbelief.

Martin's narrow eyes squinted, surrounded by a layer of malevolence that sent chills down the spine. Randy's small face was covered in a layer of coldness, his eyes reddening, shimmering with teardrops.

After a while, Patricia found her voice again, "How...how did you all come here?"

Hearing the voice, Gavin trembled all over and immediately walked out of the study. When he saw Martin and Randy, his face lit up with a smile.

"Martin, Randy, you're here! Is there something you need from me?"

Randy angrily lifted his foot and kicked Gavin on his calf. "You scoundrel, you're bullying my mommy again!"

He really put his strength into it, especially with Randy wearing his little leather shoes, causing Gavin's face to contort in pain. Gavin dared not cry out in pain, pretending to play dumb.

"Randy, what are you talking about? Grandpa didn't bully your mommy; he was just chatting with her."

Randy pouted, his cheeks bulging. "Do you really think we're deaf? Dad and I heard everything you said! You're forcing my mommy to leave me, and you want to hit her."

They hadn't expected that they had heard everything. Gavin's expression was instantly more colorful than a color palette. Martin looked at Patricia, her stubborn appearance holding back tears, and felt an unexplainable pain in his heart.

He took Patricia's hand and his voice sounded unusually gentle, "You're right. Not all parents are fit to be parents, and not all parents love their children."

Patricia didn't want to cry. She had been holding back her tears for a long time, but after hearing Martin's words, they broke through her defenses like a flood, rushing out uncontrollably, as if she wanted to cry out all her grievances at once.

The more she cried, the uglier Martin's face became, and his heart hurt like it was being scalded by hot oil.
