Chapter 64 Charles Stands Up for Patricia and Teaches Debbie a Lesson

Just as Patricia's high fever subsided and she didn't have the energy to argue with Debbie, Martin, too, was not willing to argue with her. For a moment, Debbie unexpectedly gained the upper hand.

Manda, looking smugly at Patricia, treated her as if she were defeated.

At that moment, Charles walked in from outside! Seeing Debbie and Manda, he sweetly called out, "Auntie, Grandma."

Debbie and Manda both froze, wearing a horrified expression as if they had seen a ghost.

Charles tilted his head and innocently looked at them, saying, "Auntie, Grandma, what's wrong with you? Why are you looking at me like that? Is there something on my face?"

Debbie vigorously shook her head, trying hard to maintain her composure. She hypocritically patted his head and said, "Randy, you finally hugged Auntie again! Auntie is so happy. Ever since your Mommy came back, you haven't liked Auntie anymore. Auntie thought you didn't want me as long as you have Mommy!"

With a smile on his face, Charles responded, "How is that possible? Although I like Mommy, but I also like Auntie!" He then handed her the coffee in his hand. "Look, this is specially for you and Grandma!”

Debbie looked at him suspiciously and didn't reach out to take it. She felt that something was off about today's Randy.

Patricia was also puzzled, not understanding why Randy, who usually despised Debbie and her mother, suddenly had a complete change of heart.

Martin's eyebrows furrowed, and his handsome face darkened slightly.

Seeing her hesitant, Charles gently said, "Auntie, take it. It's a coffee I bought specifically for you and Grandma!"

Debbie hesitated for a moment before finally accepting the coffee, still unsure about today's Randy.

Raised an eyebrow, tilting his head, Charles said, "Auntie, why aren't you accepting it? I just bought it from the coffee shop next to the hospital. If you don't accept it, do you suspect that I poisoned it?"

With a dark gaze, he pouted with grievances, saying, "I know Auntie doesn't genuinely like me; you're just pretending to be nice to me because you want to marry my Daddy! I like you so much, but you suspect me of poisoning you. I'm truly disappointed and heartbroken! My Daddy loves me so much; he definitely wouldn't marry a stepmom who doesn't like me."

"......??"

For some reason, even though Randy looked pitiful, Debbie felt uncomfortable all over.

There seemed to be a hint of threat in his words, threatening her that if she didn't accept, he would forbid Martin from marrying her.

Charles turned away in disappointment, "Since you're not accepting it, I'll just pour it away! Forget that I have any taste. Even though you don't like me, I still seek your attention."

In that moment when he turned away, all of Patricia's confusion disappeared as if struck by lightning. So, this is why Randy seemed like a different person from before. It turned out to be Charles.

He was wearing hospital clothes, and she almost didn't recognize him.

Afraid that he might genuinely affect Debbie's marriage into the Langley family, Manda pulled at Debbie's sleeve, giving her a glance.

Debbie understood her meaning and immediately caught up with Charles.

She took the coffee from his hand, discreetly checked the seal, and only then said, "I didn't mean that. I was just so happy that I momentarily forgot to react! This is the first cup of coffee you bought for Auntie. How could I not drink it!"

Charles' eyes immediately lit up like stars in the night sky.

"Auntie, do you really not mind this simple cup of coffee?"

Debbie smiled, "I don't mind. As long as it's bought by you, Auntie will like it even if it's just a few dollars!"

Charles laughed happily and proactively inserted a straw into their cups, handing the other one to Manda. "Grandma, this is yours! Make sure you finish it, okay?"

Manda gladly accepted. In her opinion, Randy was just a child who only threw tantrums and lacked brains.

Dealing with this kind of child was straightforward; just go along with him and coax him. It was destined not to cause any big waves.

Charles had bought small cups of coffee, which Debbie and Manda finished in a few sips.

Watching their throats roll and hearing the gulping sounds, a sense of accomplishment flickered in Charles's eyes.

To ensure they didn't suspect anything, he personally bought black coffee. Black coffee could mask the taste of any medicine.

Sure enough.

After finishing the coffee, neither Debbie nor Manda noticed that he had added three times the normal dose of laxatives.

He wanted to make them experience dehydration.

Especially Manda, with her limited mobility, let's see how she runs to the bathroom.

Once they finished drinking, Charles pursed his lips and smiled, "Auntie, Grandma did you like it?”

They nodded together and replied, "Mmm! It's delicious!"

Charles cursed silently in his mind and waved his hand at them, Alright, we still have things to discuss with Mom and Dad. You two can go now!"

"Okay!" Debbie and Manda were completely led by him.

It wasn't until they walked out of the ward that they suddenly snapped back to reality and froze in place.

Debbie wondered, "Mom, what were we doing here?"

Manda also regained her senses, "Weren't we here to make Martin send Patricia back to the detention center? How did Randy's few words make us forget our original intention?"

"We've been fooled by that brat again!"

Debbie was furious and prepared to go back to continue the unfinished purpose. But as soon as she turned around, a sharp pain suddenly struck her lower abdomen.

Her stomach gurgled like there was water sloshing inside, as if something was about to come out from her backside.

She instinctively clenched her legs tightly, trying to hold it in.

But then...

"Plop, plop, plop..." Farting sounds erupted one after another, like a machine gun.

"Debbie, what happened?" Manda’s words had just fallen when her own lower abdomen began to ache. She hurriedly covered her stomach, her face twisting in discomfort.

"Debbie, my stomach, it hurts... Take me back to the ward quickly, I need to go to the bathroom..."

Looking at her mother's condition, Debbie instantly understood.

"We've been tricked by that brat Randy..."

Manda also realized it, her face full of disbelief, "He... he drugged the coffee?"

"Yes! I drugged your coffee. It was triple the normal dose of laxative for ordinary people! You'll be needing the bathroom quite a bit today."

Charles emerged from the ward as he answered them. He seemed shrouded in dark clouds, with a cold curve on his lips.

"You..." Debbie was so angry that she wanted to hit him, but as soon as she made a move, her stomach ached even more, as if something was about to be uncontrollable.

Charles approached them step by step, his face gloomy like a little devil from the underworld, radiating a frosty ferocity.

"This is just a small punishment for you. I will make you pay for the pain you caused my Mommy, one by one!"

Debbie and Manda had never expected to see such a terrifying expression on a child's face. A sense of dread inexplicably arose in their hearts.

Impatiently, Charles growled, "Get out quickly and don't dirty my Mommy's place."

"You..." Debbie had never been humiliated by a child like this before. She was so angry that her face turned red, and she raised her hand to slap him.

But the moment her hand went up, they heard a "plop."

Time seemed to freeze. Even the air became eerily still.

A foul smell permeated and spread—
