Chapter 720 Is There a Conspiracy?
Martin was worried, suspecting another one of Hunter's schemes. He quickly told Ryan, "Check if anyone's tailing you."
Ryan glanced back instinctively, "No one! When he let me go, I thought he had some bad intentions too, so I was super careful."
"But guess what? He didn't follow me!"
"Even though I'm not as skilled as he is, I can still tell if someone's on my tail."
Martin's brows furrowed.
No one followed Ryan?
Then why did he let Ryan go?
What was the angle?
"Did he say anything to you?"
Ryan suddenly remembered, "He said at eight in the morning the day after tomorrow, he's going to Silver Birch Sanctuary to rescue Hunter. He wants you to wait for him."
Martin was puzzled.
Noticing Martin's silence, Ryan continued, "I don't think he's lying. Martin, you need to be careful and keep a close watch on Hunter. He's slippery; don't let him get away."
Martin paused, then said, "Alright! You head back to Sunset Bay and take care of yourself. Stay put for now. Once we deal with Hunter, we'll come back."
Ryan hesitated, "Martin, should I come help? This guy's tricky, and I'm worried about you all."
Martin reassured him, "I'll be fine! I've got the Koch family, the Hill family, and the Taylor family here. We can't be outmatched by just one Hunter, can we? Don't underestimate us."
"But..." Ryan was still uneasy.
Martin smiled, "Daisy's really worried about you. Go back and be with her. Don't let her worry anymore."
Seeing Daisy's red, swollen eyes and constant tears, Ryan couldn't bear it.
In just a few days, Daisy had lost a lot of weight and looked haggard.
If Ryan went to the UK now, Daisy would definitely follow.
Ryan didn't mind risking his life, but he couldn't drag Daisy and the baby into it.
After a mental struggle, he finally agreed.
"Alright, I'll go back to Sunset Bay! If you need me, let me know! Brothers for life!"
Martin chuckled.
"Alright! If I need you, I'll call."
Just as Ryan was about to hang up, Martin remembered something. "What does that guy look like? You fought him, so you should remember, right?"
Ryan felt a mix of anger and embarrassment.
"Don't even mention it, it's so embarrassing! He wore a hat and a mask, and even used a voice changer! I consider myself pretty skilled, but that guy seemed inhuman. I got beat up, and he didn't have a scratch. I couldn't even pull off his hat."
Thinking about it, Ryan felt humiliated.
It was one of serious blots of his life.
Martin imagined the scene and laughed.
"Alright, alright, I won't tell anyone! No one will know about your embarrassing moment! You hurry back!"
"Remember, don't tell anyone! That guy's a total freak."
Martin finally relaxed after being stressful for all day and night, and hung up the phone with a smile.
Seeing Ryan finished the call, Daisy gently touched the corner of his busted lip, "Does it hurt?"
She then traced the bruises around his eyes, "And here! You're all banged up. It must hurt a lot, right?"
Daisy had never realized just how much Ryan meant to her.
Their relationship had started as a one-night stand, which she thought would be forgotten.
But Ryan kept following her.
Then Daisy got pregnant.
It got out of hand then.
Ryan became even more persistent—driving her to work, picking her up, making her breakfast and lunch, taking her shopping, going for walks at night, cheering her up when she was down, and decorating her room with a lot of roses.
In her over twenty years of life, many men had pursued Daisy.
But none had been as attentive as Ryan.
Even if Daisy was a cold and callous person, she couldn't resist his relentless pursuit and agreed to date him, with the condition that they would break up if it didn’t work out.
Because of this trial period, and fearing they might eventually be part, Daisy didn't tell Patricia about it.
As a boyfriend, Ryan was perfect.
Gradually, she had given into his tenderness.
She always thought she was just moved.
After all, she would eventually get married, and since she was carrying his child, it was better to marry someone who treated her well like Ryan.
It wasn't until Ryan got into trouble that Daisy realized she had already fallen deeply in love with him.
Without him, Daisy felt like a fish out of water, unable to breathe.
Every minute and every second were suffering.
So Daisy came to the U.S. to find Ryan.
On the way, she had made up her mind! If something happened to Ryan, she would die with him.
Even in hell, she and her child would keep him company, and he wouldn’t be lonely.
Unexpectedly, when she was in despair, Ryan reappeared, bringing her hope once again.
Ryan held her hand tightly, "It doesn't hurt. These little injuries are nothing! I still need to stay alive to marry you!"
Daisy smiled, and the tears she had just managed to stop flowed out again.
"We'll get married as soon as we get back! We'll apply for a marriage certificate first, and then have the wedding when Patricia returns!"
Since happiness had come, Daisy was determined to hold on to it tightly.
Seeing that Daisy was finally willing to marry him, Ryan happily picked her up and spun her around in circles.
"Great, I'm getting married, I'm finally getting married."
"I swear, I will treat you very well from now on, give you the best things in the world. Daisy, I love you, I love you."
Daisy closed her eyes, spread her arms wide in the wind, and laughed joyfully.
Meanwhile, at the Silver Birch Sanctuary.
After ending the call with Ryan, Martin no longer felt gloomy.
Patricia smiled and asked, "Ryan is okay?"
Martin replied, "Yes! But..."
Thinking of what Ryan had said, Martin's expression turned serious again, and he recounted the conversation with Ryan to Patricia.
Hearing that that man planned to come to rescue Hunter at eight o'clock in the morning the day after tomorrow, Patricia furrowed her brows tightly.
"If he's coming to rescue Hunter, why would he tell us in advance? If he captured Ryan, why not use Ryan as a bargaining chip? What is his aim? Could there be some kind of conspiracies?"
