Chapter 1265 Leaving Without Saying Goodbye
Carol knew that when someone was heartbroken and upset, they usually just wanted to be alone.
Having someone around could actually make things worse.
Seeing that Stella was already showing signs of impatience, Carol wisely decided not to stay any longer. She patted Stella's shoulder and said, "Why don't you take a nap? We're not going anywhere today, just hanging out at the hotel. If you feel unwell or need to talk, you can come find me anytime."
Stella weakly waved her hand, indicating she understood.
Carol sighed inwardly, moved Stella's legs aside, and stood up from the couch. Just as she was about to leave, Stella suddenly sprang up from the couch, startling Carol.
Carol clutched her wildly beating heart, still shaken. "What's wrong?"
A glimmer of light appeared in Stella's previously dull eyes, and she looked at Carol with hopeful anticipation.
"Mom, why aren't you going to Sunshine Manor today? We're leaving for Country D tomorrow, and today is the last day. Don't you want to catch up with Aunt Patricia and everyone?"
Carol blinked, puzzled by Stella's sudden burst of energy. "Your dad already went over there."
Stella exclaimed, "What? He already went? When did he go? Why didn't he call me?"
Carol explained, "After Charles' wedding, your dad had some work matters to discuss with Martin, so he and Kaleb went over early. You weren't feeling well, so I thought I'd stay here with you."
Stella instantly perked up and jumped off the couch.
"I'm fine, I'm okay! Mom, wait for me. I'll take a shower, change clothes, and go with you."
Carol stood up, nervous. "You're not tired anymore?"
Stella smiled brightly. "Not tired! If I get tired later, there are plenty of rooms at Sunshine Manor where I can take a nap. It's no big deal."
Carol still felt uneasy. "Are you sure you want to go?"
Stella nodded firmly, her expression resolute.
She wanted to see Randy and tell him she was angry. She wanted to ask him why he didn't try to comfort her when he knew she was upset. Did he not like her anymore?
Seeing Stella's determination, Carol had no choice but to agree.
Stella quickly went to her room, took a shower, changed into clean clothes, and then she and Carol drove to Sunshine Manor.
Even though the wedding was over, Sunshine Manor was still bustling with activity.
The Koch family had arrived early in the morning.
Everyone was gathered together, chatting, playing games, and playing chess. It was lively and cheerful.
The newlywed Hannah was surrounded by everyone.
Nola touched Hannah's belly, feeling amazed. "Hannah, I heard from Charles that you're already three and a half months pregnant?"
Hannah nodded. "Yes, almost four months now."
Nola scratched her head, puzzled. "Your belly looks much bigger than a four-month belly!"
Hannah covered her mouth and laughed excitedly. "That's because I'm having twins!"
As soon as she said this, everyone crowded around, even Kaleb and Riley, who were playing chess nearby, and Martin, Maximilian, and Carter, who were discussing business, came over.
Lassie looked at Hannah's belly, her eyes wide with surprise. "You're having twins? Why didn't you tell me earlier? When did you find out?"
Hannah touched her round belly, her face glowing with happiness. "We found out at two months! Charles wanted to tell you all at a special time to surprise you."
Lassie excitedly held Carter's hand, feeling both happy and concerned.
Happy because the Moore family finally had twins.
Concerned because of the hardships Hannah would face during her pregnancy.
Even a single pregnancy was tough in the later stages, with the baby pressing against internal organs, causing various discomforts.
If a single pregnancy were like this, twins must be even more difficult.
Thinking about this, Lassie felt very worried.
Fannie sighed. "Our family's twin genes are really strong! According to genetics, my chances of having twins in the future should be high too."
Patricia glanced at her. "First, you need to get pregnant! When are you going to have a baby?"
Fannie immediately fell silent.
She didn't know why, but despite trying for a year, she still hadn't gotten pregnant.
They had both been checked at the hospital and were healthy, but it just wasn't happening.
She had given up for now.
Patricia didn't know that Fannie had been trying for a year. She thought Fannie just wanted to enjoy her freedom and didn't want kids.
Fannie hadn't told Patricia, not wanting her to worry.
Stella had just walked in when she heard that Hannah was having twins. She excitedly rushed over, grabbed Hannah's hand, and tried to speak, but she stammered for a while without saying anything.
Everyone thought she was there to congratulate Hannah.
After a moment, Stella finally managed to say, "I want to be the godmother!"
Hannah was stunned.
Everyone else was too.
Hannah helplessly said, "Isn't being an aunt better than a godmother?"
Stella suddenly remembered that Hannah was now her sister-in-law, and her children would call her Aunt. She sheepishly scratched her head. "I forgot!"
Hannah immediately noticed how exhausted Stella looked. She cupped Stella's face in her hands, lifting her head to check. "Stella, you look terrible. Are you feeling unwell?"
Remembering why she had come, Stella puffed up her cheeks in anger and looked around the crowd, but she didn't see the person who had upset her.
"Where's Randy?" She wanted to ask him directly why he hadn't comforted her.
Everyone looked at her in surprise.
Especially Fannie, who asked in shock, "Randy left on an early flight today. You two are usually so close. Didn't he tell you?"
It was like a bolt from the blue.
Stella felt as if her feet were nailed to the floor, unable to move. "He... he left?"
Randy had clearly said he would leave for Country D tomorrow.
But he had left today, even on an early flight.
Fannie nodded. "Yes, he left on an 8 AM flight. He left before dawn! I thought you knew."
Stella stared blankly at Fannie, her mind empty, her whole body frozen, her eyes gradually losing their light.
Randy had left!
Without a word, he had just left!
Stella's chest tightened with sadness, her eyes filled with angry flames and glistening tears.
