Chapter 1272 Utilizing Stella

Lyra ushered them into the car. "I've already booked a restaurant. We'll grab some food first, then I'll take you to your hotel!"

Stella had been holding back since they got off the plane, but she couldn't help herself any longer. "Where's Randy? Why didn't he come?"

Lyra, unaware of what had transpired between them, answered honestly, "Mr. Langley has been really busy these past few days and couldn't make it. But he asked me to take care of you both."

Stella's hands slowly clenched into fists. "What about now? Will he join us for dinner?"

Lyra nodded with a cheerful smile. "Yes! Jett's driving him over. He should already be at the restaurant waiting for us!"

Hearing that she would soon see Randy, Stella's tense expression softened, and a barely noticeable smile appeared on her lips.

The drive from the airport to the city took two hours. When they finally arrived at the restaurant, Lyra led them straight to a private room on the third floor.

Standing at the door, knowing Randy was just inside, Stella's breath slowed with nervous anticipation.

As they got closer, her breathing quickened, her heart pounding as if it might leap out of her chest.

Everything around her seemed to quiet down. The sound of footsteps and breathing amplified in her ears.

When the door to the private room opened, Stella looked up and saw Randy sitting inside. They locked eyes across the threshold, and for a moment, it felt like they were the only two people in the world.

Stella stared at Randy, unable to get enough of him.

It had only been a month, but she missed him more than she realized. Seeing him again made her chest tighten with a mix of longing and pain, as if something inside her was about to break.

Randy, caught in her intense gaze, quickly looked away, unable to meet her eyes.

Sensing the strange tension between them, Emeric discreetly observed them, a hint of amusement in his eyes.

Jett, a man in his thirties with an unremarkable appearance and glasses, sat next to Randy. He also noticed the unusual atmosphere.

The last time they toured together, it hadn't felt like this. How had things changed so much in such a short time? Was it just his imagination?

Jett cleared his throat awkwardly and stood up, breaking the silence. "Stella, you're finally here! If you hadn't come soon, we might have starved."

His words shattered the awkward silence.

Randy stood up as well, waving Stella over. "Come on, hurry up! I know you love steak, so I found the best restaurant and ordered all your favorite dishes. I know airplane food isn't great, so I timed it so the food would be ready when you got here."

Stella noticed the table was already filled with dishes, the aroma making her mouth water.

Her eyes welled up with tears, feeling a sense of reunion after a long separation. Randy hadn't spoken to her like this in ages.

She was genuinely happy. It felt like the last time they talked like this was a lifetime ago.

Stella, as if drawn by an invisible force, sat down next to Randy, completely forgetting about Emeric behind her.

Seeing Emeric left out, Lyra quickly introduced him. "Jett, this is Stella's boyfriend, Emeric!"

Jett discreetly sized Emeric up. Emeric was slender but strikingly handsome, with a refined, aloof demeanor that kept people at a distance.

Though he was attractive, he paled in comparison to Randy.

Randy's good looks were the kind that made people envious, the kind that even men couldn't help but admire.

Emeric's handsomeness was more of the high school heartthrob variety.

Jett preferred Randy's approachable, gentle appearance, which made people feel comfortable and at ease.

"Hey there! I'm Mr. Langley's manager. He usually calls me Jett. You can call me Jett too, if you don't mind."

Emeric extended his hand. "Nice to meet you, Jett. I'm Emeric, a junior in the music department at D University. It's a pleasure to meet you!"

Jett was surprised to hear he was a music major. Shaking Emeric's hand, he said, "You're a music major?"

Emeric smiled slightly, achieving the effect he wanted. "Yeah, like Mr. Langley, I'm a piano major. Of course, my achievements are nothing compared to his."

Jett laughed heartily, excited. "That's definitely worth mentioning! Since you're in the same field, let's sit down and chat!"

He seemed to have discovered something new.

He'd been looking to sign new talent for years but hadn't found anyone suitable.

If Emeric was talented in piano, he might be worth developing. It would give him something to do when Randy was resting.

"Sure!" Emeric agreed readily and sat opposite Randy and Stella, with Jett beside him. Lyra took a seat on the other side of the table.

Jett invited Emeric to eat, chatting with him to get to know him better.

Stella, from the moment she sat down, hadn't said a word. She nervously twisted the hem of her dress, her palms sweaty.

In contrast, Randy seemed much calmer, acting as if nothing was out of the ordinary. He placed a forkful of food on her plate, speaking gently. "Eat up! Your stomach is empty. Start with something light to avoid feeling sick later."

Stella felt warmth in her heart.

She had expected Randy to ignore her or be cold and distant.

But he was as gentle and considerate as ever, not distancing himself from her at all.

It was as if the previous coldness had been a bad dream.

Stella took a bite of the food Randy had placed on her plate.

It wasn't her usual preference for light dishes, but it tasted sweet, as if it were seasoned with sugar instead of salt.

Randy kept serving her food.

For the first time, Stella obediently ate everything he gave her.

As she ate, a smile crept onto her face.
