Chapter 108 Patricia Lectures Debbie
Suddenly feeling a fierce gaze, Fannie, who was sulking, raised her head.
Unexpectedly, their eyes met.
Both of them froze for a moment. In that instant, Debbie finally remembered where she had seen her.
It was at the disruptive Martin's new product launch, where the little girl claimed to be Martin's daughter in front of all the media.
Seeing her staring at her blankly, Fannie wrinkled her brow in disgust and said, "Why are you always staring at me? Are you planning something bad again?"
Debbie walked into the ward and discreetly locked the door behind her.
Fannie didn't notice anything unusual and pouted, angrily saying, "I knew it Spencer isn't a good person. He just left from here and immediately went to inform you. Hmph! Fortunately, I saw his true colors early on; otherwise, I would have been deceived by him."
Debbie approached her step by step and asked sternly, "Your name is Fannie? What is your relationship with Patricia? And what is your relationship with Martin?"
After the premiere, Martin explained himself personally, stating that he didn't have a love child. At that time, she believed him.
However, now she couldn't help but start doubting again.
Fannie didn't care about her at all and contemptuously said, "What does it matter to you what my relationship with them is? You're just a home-wrecking mistress."
A feeling of uncertainty filled Debbie's heart.
Debbie became more convinced of her suspicion with Fannie's hostility.
"Patricia is your mother? Martin is your father?" Debbie asked.
Fannie, still angry and unwilling to admit having a despicable father who would harm his own daughter, denied, "Patricia is my mom, but Martin is not my dad. I don't have such a heartless father like him!"
Debbie was clearly shocked by her response. If Martin wasn't her father, then who could it be?
"Yes, he is not my dad. I don't have a father like him," Fannie exclaimed excitedly.
The more excited she got, the more Debbie doubted her words.
If it really didn't matter, why would it cause such an emotional turmoil in her if they were strangers? Something didn't seem right.
"Martin is really not your father? Then what about Charles? Isn't he your brother?" Debbie probed intentionally.
Fannie grew annoyed by her questioning and impatiently replied, "Why do you have so many questions? Why should I answer your questions? You're so annoying! I don't want to see you, you wicked woman. Get out!"
Debbie's lips curved into a faint smile as she said, "Fannie, don't be so angry! After all, I can be considered your aunt. How can you treat your aunt like this!"
Finishing her words, she intended to reach out and touch Fannie's head.
Just hearing her call her "Fannie" made her skin crawl, and Fannie slapped her hand away, saying, "Get lost! Don't touch me with your dirty hands."
Though only four years old, Fannie had quite the strength.
The back of Debbie's hand immediately showed a red mark from the slap, and it hurt so she furrowed her brows.
She grabbed Fannie by the neck, pressed her against the head of the bed, and gritted her teeth, "You little brat! If you don't want to die, tell me right now if you are Martin's daughter! Otherwise, I'll strangle you."
The sudden feeling of suffocation caused Fannie's small face to turn red, her eyes bloodshot.
She desperately struggled, slapping Debbie's arm and pleading, "Let go... let go of me... you wicked woman..."
Debbie narrowed her eyes with malice, saying, "Yes, I am a wicked woman. So you better tell me quickly, or even if I kill you now, no one will know it was me."
"Um..." Fannie's small face twisted in pain, her lips turning purple and blue.0
Just as she thought she was going to be strangled by Debbie, there was a sudden urgent knocking on the door outside the ward.
"Debbie, what are you doing? Open the door now, or I'll call the police, Debbie..."
Patricia, seeing her daughter's bulging eyes and struggling to breathe, panicked and kicked the door with her feet.
Afraid that her commotion would attract attention, Debbie quickly let go of Fannie's neck.
Fannie's small body instantly slid down and collapsed on the floor.
Fresh air rushed into her nostrils, causing her to cough violently and tears streamed down her face.
Debbie remained calm.
Patricia opened the ward door.
Immediately, she rushed into the room to check on Fannie. "Fannie, how are you? Are you okay? Fannie..."
Fannie was so frightened that she leaned into Patricia's arms, trembling violently.
"Mommy, I thought I would never see you again. I was so scared of that woman..." Fannie sobbed.
Patricia gently patted her back, continuously planting kisses on her forehead while soothingly saying, "Don't be afraid, Mommy is here to protect you..."
"Mmmhmm!" Fannie obediently nodded.
Still terrified from the near-death experience and the thought of never seeing her Mommy and brother again, Fannie became extremely fearful.
Debbie, not interested in witnessing their tender moment, glanced at them disdainfully, adjusted her disheveled clothes, and left with a swagger.
It took quite some time for Patricia to calm Fannie's emotions.
Cupping Fannie's face, she asked softly, "Tell Mommy, what exactly happened?"
Fannie recounted the events. The more Patricia listened, the darker her expression became.
Fannie, still trembling, said anxiously, "Mommy, I don't want to stay in the hospital. Can we go home? That bad woman is in the hospital, and I'm scared..."
Patricia's heart ached, and she nodded, saying, "Even if we have to leave, Mommy will avenge you before we go."
"Mummy..." Fannie looked at her worriedly.
Patricia wiped the tears from Fannie's eyes and said, "Lock the door, Mommy will be right back."
Fannie held onto her clothes, feeling uneasy. "Mommy, this woman is really scary. I'm afraid something might happen to you."
Patricia reassured her, "Don't worry, this is a hospital, and it's my territory. I won't let anything happen to me. You stay here and wait for me. Remember, lock the door and don't open it for anyone except me."
Fannie obediently nodded.
After settling Fannie, Patricia left the ward.
The moment she stepped out of the room, her expression suddenly changed, as if she had been covered in a layer of ice, sending shivers down one's spine.

Meanwhile, in the doctor's office.
Debbie, who had almost killed Fannie, seemed nonchalant, laughing and chatting with everyone.
"Professor Brown, when is Bobby's surgery? Have you set a date?" Debbie's student Gladys asked eagerly.
"We have a date. Barring any special circumstances, it will be next Monday, the same day as Randy's," Gladys replied.
"The same day?" The expressions of everyone present became intriguing.
The surgeries scheduled for the same day?
Was this a competition?
After so many days of not choosing a date, why did they have to pick the same day?
"Exactly! With my teacher's abilities, he will surely make a name for himself and put Ivara City Hospital on the map."
A male doctor kindly reminded them, "This surgery is not like a regular heart surgery. You all need to be extra careful and make sure nothing goes wrong."
Gladys proudly said, "Nothing will go wrong. My teacher is so capable, how could anything go wrong? You are worrying too much."
Everyone fell silent, vaguely sensing that this surgery had a high risk factor.
Debbie pretended to be modest and said, "You're right, I should indeed be more careful. Don't worry, no matter what, I will definitely succeed. Only success is allowed, no room for failure."
The last sentence was said to herself.
Whether she could defeat Patricia or not depended entirely on this surgery.
Just as everyone was joking around, Patricia rushed in with a livid face and slapped Debbie several times.
"Slap...Slap...Slap...Slap..."
It left Debbie dumbfounded.
