Chapter 1271 Melancholic and Lost

Stella and Randy hadn't contacted each other for twenty-five days.

Even when Stella went to a concert with Emeric, Jett handled all the arrangements. Randy never showed up.

"I've got your tickets! The flight's at 8 AM tomorrow, two first-class seats! A driver will pick you and Emeric up at the airport. I've also booked your hotel."

"Thanks, Jett!"

Stella hesitated, then asked, "What about Randy? Are we staying at the same hotel?"

Jett shook his head. "No, Randy's staying at the hotel set up by the organizers. You and Emeric will be at a seven-star hotel I booked."

Stella wanted to ask more about Randy, but the words wouldn't come. "Thanks, Jett."

"No problem! I'll send the flight details to your phone soon."

"Thanks!"

After the call ended, Stella's phone buzzed with a new message. She opened it to find the flight information from Jett.

Stella stared at the flight details for a long time, feeling conflicted, before forwarding the information to Emeric.

Stella: [Flight at 10 AM tomorrow. Randy's manager has arranged everything. We just need to show up.]

Emeric replied instantly: [Got it! I'll meet you at the airport at 9 AM.]

Stella: [Okay!]

After ending the chat, Stella went to her room and started packing.

She didn't plan to stay long, and since it was summer in Country Y, she only packed a few changes of clothes, some skincare products, and daily essentials.

A small suitcase was enough.

After packing, Stella sat on her bed, staring at the suitcase by the wardrobe, feeling a bit lost.

Would she really see Randy soon?

Was Randy still mad at her?

Would he still be cold towards her?

What should she say when she saw him?

How could she mend their relationship?

Stella was lost in thought and didn't notice when Carol entered the room.

Carol opened the door and, seeing Stella, sighed in relief. She walked over and sat beside her.

"So you are home! I called you, texted you, knocked on your door, and got no response! I thought something happened to you!"

Seeing the suitcase by the wardrobe, Carol was surprised. "Are you going on a trip?"

Stella nodded. "Yes, I'm going to Country Y for Randy's concert."

Carol slapped her thigh. "Randy's tour? Why didn't you tell me earlier? I would have gone with you! I haven't seen Randy's concert in ages!"

Stella glanced at her but said nothing.

Carol had noticed that Stella's mood had been off lately.

She used to be lively and straightforward, never hiding anything. But now, she seemed burdened with worries.

Carol feared that Stella might fall ill from overthinking.

"Stella, you?" Carol sighed, but before she could continue, Stella interrupted, "Mom, I'm fine! I know what you're going to say! You say it every day, and I'm tired of hearing it! Please leave, I need to rest. I have an early flight tomorrow."

"But..."

Stella didn't give her a chance to continue, pulling her up from the bed and pushing her out of the room. "I'm really fine! I'm twenty years old now, and I can take care of myself! You don't need to worry."

With that, she shut the door firmly.

She was feeling overwhelmed and didn't want to talk to Carol.

Carol stood outside Stella's door, sighed deeply, and, feeling uneasy, took out her phone to text Randy.

Carol: [Randy, Stella seems troubled lately. She's been very down. Please keep an eye on her when she gets there and let me know if anything happens.]

Randy's eyes flickered as he read Carol's message.

Seeing him staring at his phone, Jett couldn't help but ask, "Randy, what's up? Something wrong?"

Randy snapped back to reality and shook his head. "Nothing."

He replied to Carol with a simple "Okay."

The next day, Stella got up before dawn, dragging her suitcase to the car, and had the driver take her to the airport.

She hadn't been there long when Emeric arrived.

Since being turned down last time, Emeric hadn't mentioned asking Randy to be his teacher again.

Emeric was naturally quiet, and it used to be Stella who kept the conversation going. But lately, Stella had been speaking less, leading to an awkward silence between them.

Emeric didn't speak, and neither did Stella. They just sat there until it was time to board.

This was Emeric's first time flying, and in first class no less. He was so excited that he trembled as he entered the cabin.

To hide his excitement, he gripped his pants tightly to stay calm.

Once on the plane, Stella closed her eyes and leaned back, pretending to rest.

Emeric took out a music score and started studying it.

That evening, the plane landed at Country Y International Airport.

As Stella and Emeric walked out of the gate, they saw someone holding a sign with Stella's name.

The sign-holder was a woman in her early twenties.

Stella recognized her as Lyra, Randy's assistant.

Lyra was responsible for Randy's daily needs during his tours. When Randy was off, she was on paid leave.

Stella had gotten to know Lyra well during Randy's last tour.

Lyra spotted Stella immediately and waved enthusiastically. "Stella, Stella, over here! Randy sent me to pick you up!"

Stella instinctively looked around for Randy.

Even though Jett had said Randy wouldn't come, she still held a sliver of hope.

But in the end, her hope was dashed.

Randy hadn't come; he had only sent Lyra.

Stella's eyes dimmed as she dragged her suitcase out of the gate. Lyra quickly ran over and took the suitcase from her.

"There were so many people, I was afraid I wouldn't see you, so I prepared a sign! Luckily, you're easy to spot."

She then looked at Emeric and smiled. "You must be Stella's boyfriend that Jett mentioned, right? Hi! I'm Lyra, Randy's assistant."

Emeric politely shook her hand. "Hi! Thanks for coming all this way!"

Emeric knew Lyra. Randy had two close associates: his manager Jett, who had been with him for ten years, arranging his work, and Lyra.

Lyra, twenty-five years old, had been with Randy for five years.

They were the two people Randy trusted the most.
