Chapter 1078 Hannah Got Jealous
Hannah was at a loss for how to respond to Charles, so she simply didn't. She punched him in the chest and said, "I'm not talking to you anymore!" then ran off.
Charles chuckled and, worried she might get into trouble, immediately chased after her. After a short walk, they arrived at the waterfall Charles had mentioned earlier.
Hannah was instantly awestruck by the spectacular sight before her. "This is the 'small' waterfall you were talking about? It's huge."
Unlike some artificial waterfalls where the water flow was minimal, this waterfall had a fierce and rapid flow, covering a large area.
Charles explained, "This is a natural waterfall. The first investor chose to develop this mountain because of this waterfall and the hot springs behind it."
Hannah looked up at the top of the waterfall. "So, we're not at the top of the mountain? It must be even higher up there, right?"
Charles laughed. "We haven't developed that area yet, so this can be considered the top! The staff used drones to check it out; it's a large body of water up there. If we open another tourist spot up there, the waterfall's water will get polluted, so I don't plan to develop it. I think it's better this way!"
After all, he didn't acquire this place to make money. It was just to preserve the beautiful memories he had with Hannah.
IntelliMerge Technologies Company had plenty of money, and even if this place kept losing money, he had enough spare cash to keep it running.
Hannah agreed with him, "You're right! If the waterfall's water gets polluted, the hot springs will too! It would cause chronic harm to many people. I think it's better this way! We can enjoy the waterfall and the hot springs."
This incident made her realize another of Charles's virtues. At least he wasn't a ruthless businessman who would do anything for money.
Charles took Hannah's hand again. "Come on, I'll take you to the hot springs!"
Hannah worriedly asked, "Won't there be a lot of people?"
Charles replied, "There are indeed many people, but each pool is separated. I've already arranged for a private pool for us, so there won't be any strangers."
Hannah's eyes lit up at his words, and she nodded eagerly. "Let's go then!"
Charles took Hannah to the hot spring reception, where a man in a suit immediately handed them two bags. "Mr. Watson, here are the items you requested. Everything is ready and brand new."
Charles nodded and led Hannah to a private changing room, handing her one of the bags. "Here are bathrobes and swimsuits! You can't wear your own clothes in the hot springs. I had the manager prepare these for us. Go ahead and change."
Hannah looked at the bag in her hand, touched. "You really thought of everything!"
She didn't even know when he had called the manager. Was Charles always this gentle, thoughtful, and considerate? Or was it just for her? The thought made her heart race uncontrollably.
Charles ruffled her hair. "Hurry up and change! I'll wait for you outside."
Hannah looked at him puzzled. "Aren't you changing?"
Charles smiled. "I should be faster than you! I'll wait for you here."
"Okay!" Hannah understood, nodded, and took the bag into the changing room.
To make sure Hannah would see him when she came out, Charles changed quickly. He stripped off his clothes, put on his swim trunks, and walked to the door while putting on his bathrobe.
Hannah felt sweet inside. Knowing Charles was waiting for her at the door made her uncontrollably happy. Her cheeks were rosy, and she had a smile on her face from changing to coming out.
But as soon as she reached the door and saw the scene outside, her smile froze visibly. Two girls were trying to chat up Charles at the door.
"Sir, are you here alone? Can we add you on Facebook?" The two girls' eyes sparkled as they looked at Charles.
For the first time, Hannah felt annoyed and found the two girls very irritating.
Charles politely declined, "Sorry, it's not convenient."
The two girls, seeing such a handsome man for the first time, refused to give up and said coquettishly, "Sir, we just want to add you on Facebook. We won't bother you! We can have a meal together when we get back, just as friends!"
Despite their persistence, Charles remained courteous. "It's really not convenient. I think my girlfriend wouldn't like me going out to eat with other women."
The two girls looked disappointed. "You have a girlfriend?"
Charles smiled, walked over to Hannah, and affectionately put his arm around her shoulder. "I'm not here alone. I'm with my girlfriend! Sorry, we've already changed."
With that, he took Hannah's hand and walked away without looking back.
The two girls watched Charles's back with regret.
"He has a girlfriend. We have no chance."
"I should have known. He's so handsome; many women must be after him. How could he not have a girlfriend?"
"That's not necessarily true. Even if he has a girlfriend or is married, we can still pursue him. Divorce is so common nowadays."
Hearing their conversation, Hannah felt inexplicably angry, pouting her cheeks in frustration.
Seeing her upset, Charles wasn't worried; instead, he laughed happily. "What? Are you jealous?"
"No!" Hannah denied it without thinking.
Charles gently tapped her nose. "Don't say you're not. Look at you, all puffed up like a frog."
His affectionate gesture made Hannah feel a bit dazed. Then she remembered the last thing she heard and crossed her arms, turning her back to him. "Who am I to you? Why would I be jealous? Besides, I think they're right. Even if we're a couple, people still get divorced."
Who knew if Charles would only love her forever? What if he changed his mind in the future?
Charles pretended to be shocked and hurt. "What? Are you planning to abandon me? Get divorced after we marry and find another man?"
Hannah turned around and glared at him. "That's not what I meant. I was talking about you. Why are you turning it around on me?"
Charles laughed even more freely. "So, you're admitting you're my girlfriend?"
Whether Hannah regained her memory or not, as long as she fell in love with him again, he was satisfied. As for her memory, it could come back slowly.
Life was long; he would make sure she remembered.
