Chapter 965 I Am Hannah's Boyfriend
Arthur's question left Hannah totally speechless for a moment.
Saying "yes" would bruise Arthur's ego, but saying "no" would be a lie.
As she was stuck in this awkward spot, trying to figure out how to bring up Charles without hurting Arthur's feelings, Stella put a hand on her shoulder and grinned, "You guessed it. Her boyfriend is way better than you."
Of course, Arthur didn't buy it. "Who is it?"
Stella puffed up with pride, "Hannah's boyfriend is the best guy ever. You can't even compare."
Hannah's face turned bright red at her words.
Even though she knew Stella was right, no one else would believe it!
Hannah sneaked a glance at the people around her.
Sure enough, everyone had the same look on their faces—blatant mockery.
"Better than Arthur? Who is it? Is there even such a person in our school? How come I don't know?"
"Arthur's got the looks and the skills. Not just in our school, but even in the whole Country D, he's top-notch. Stella saying Hannah's boyfriend is the best in the world is just over the top."
"Unless it's Austin from the chemistry department. That guy's really handsome and super capable. He might actually be better than Arthur."
"Let's not even get into whether Austin is better or not. Do you think someone like Hannah could land Austin?"
"Exactly! Austin wouldn't even give her a second glance!"
They didn't bother to lower their voices, so Stella and Hannah heard every word.
Listening to their chatter, Stella almost burst out laughing.
"Don't say that. The Austin from the chemistry department, who you think wouldn't look at Hannah, was actually her ex-fiancé! And Hannah's current boyfriend is even better than him." Stella emphasized again, "Just to be clear, it was Hannah who broke up with him, not the other way around. He was really into her."
Hannah couldn't take it anymore.
She yanked Stella's arm and whispered, "Enough! Why don't you just announce it over the PA system?"
Not many people at school knew about her and Austin.
Because Austin was really something special.
Stella saying it was Hannah who broke up with Austin? Who knew what the classmates would think.
Plus, Hannah didn't want anyone to know about her and Austin.
That relationship was ancient history.
She didn't expect Stella to just blurt it out, like she wanted the whole school to know.
As expected, after Stella finished, everyone laughed, openly showing their disdain and ridicule.
Hannah didn't bother explaining much, she just told Arthur, "I'm really sorry. No matter how great you are, I really like my boyfriend. To me, he's the best and irreplaceable! So, I'm sorry. You deserve someone better."
Arthur still didn't give up and asked, "Do I really have no chance?"
Hannah nodded firmly. "Yes! I only like him, and that will never change."
Arthur's shoulders slumped, and he said helplessly, "Can you tell me who he is? I really want to know who I lost to."
The surrounding classmates started buzzing.
"Yeah! She doesn't even like Austin. Who's her boyfriend?"
"Stella hyped up Hannah's boyfriend so much. Hannah naturally wouldn't dare to say it. If her boyfriend is just average, wouldn't it be embarrassing?"
"Exactly! I don't believe Hannah's boyfriend is that amazing!"
Hannah didn't care what they said and was about to drag Stella back to the dorm.
Suddenly, a pair of hands reached out from behind and wrapped around Hannah's shoulders, pulling her into a tight hug.
Standing at 6'2", he towered over Hannah. Facing Arthur, he outshone him in both height and looks.
With one hand on Hannah's shoulder, he extended the other towards Arthur. "Charles Watson, Hannah's boyfriend."
As soon as he spoke, the place went dead silent.
Then came the gasps.
Even Arthur was stunned.
Everyone at D University knew Charles and his entrepreneurial story.
He was admired by all. Charles had started a company at sixteen, got it funded and listed within two years, and now it was the top mobile game company in the world.
But he kept a low profile, rarely giving interviews, and almost never appearing in the news.
The only interview he did was with Hannah, published only in their school paper and not circulated outside.
Arthur never expected to meet him face to face.
He trembled as he extended his hand and shook Charles' hand. "Arthur Day, junior in the journalism department. Nice to meet you!"
Only then did everyone realize that the guy Stella said was better than Arthur and Austin was the famous Charles.
If it was Charles, then Stella's words weren't an exaggeration at all.
Hannah was pretty ordinary, so how did she attract Charles?
Charles shook Arthur's hand briefly and then let go, smiling. "I'm glad you like my girlfriend. It shows I have good taste! But she already has a boyfriend, so you have no chance!"
Arthur immediately broke into a cold sweat.
Although Charles was smiling, it gave him a creepy feeling.
Arthur replied, "No, I just admire Hannah. If I knew her boyfriend was you, I would never have confessed to her! Mr. Watson, please don't misunderstand."
Charles didn't mind. "It's okay! It shows you have good taste and know how to appreciate."
Hannah couldn't listen any longer.
She felt super embarrassed.
After apologizing to Arthur, she pulled Charles away.
It was freezing outside, so Hannah dragged him to the dorm building, shook the snow off her body, and said helplessly, "Charles, what are you doing? When did you get here?"
Charles said unhappily, "I've been here for a while. I saw the whole thing of him confessing to you."
His slightly unhappy tone made Hannah laugh.
Hannah teased, "Good! I want you to know how many guys are after me! If you ever mess up, I'll leave you and marry someone else."
Charles hugged her, resting his chin on her shoulder, and said with a smile, "You only like me in this lifetime, and I only like you! We're meant to be together."
Hannah turned around, facing away from him, and teased him, "Really? That's not certain! How come you have time to find me today? Not hanging out with Violet?"
Charles wasn't angry. He hugged her from behind and explained, "Shirley and Carter are back!"
Hannah's eyes lit up. "Christmas is coming soon. When do you have time? Let's go shopping! I want to buy something."
Charles agreed without hesitation, "Sure! Whenever you want, just let me know!"
Hannah took out her phone and looked at her schedule.
Hannah said, "Final exams are coming up. Let me see when I have time."
Soon, they agreed on a time to go shopping.
Hannah secretly bought two movie tickets, planning to watch a movie with Charles after shopping.
