Chapter 1166 Release Austin
Lassie suddenly had a lightbulb moment, her eyes lighting up with excitement. "Hold on a sec! Didn't she tell us to let Austin go? We could sneak a tracker on him. Once Oliver's safe, we can nab him again."
Hannah sighed, rubbing her forehead. "She already thought of that! She said no trackers on Austin, or she'll kill Oliver."
Seeing Hannah's worried expression, Lassie stayed calm. "Well, we just have to make sure they don't find out."
Everyone turned to look at her.
Lassie, thinking she might have said something wrong, awkwardly scratched her face and explained nervously, "Charles is so skilled. It shouldn't be hard for him to create a tracker that they can't detect. Then we can put it on Austin without him knowing."
Everyone's eyes lit up at her suggestion.
Patricia chimed in, "Yeah, Lassie's right! Why didn't we think of that?"
Carter smiled. "This plan could work."
Lassie's nervousness vanished, and she joined in the smiles. "It will work! Austin is my son, and I know him well. He's cautious, sly, and suspicious. We can't put the tracker directly on him; he'll definitely find it."
Patricia nodded vigorously in agreement. "We could put the tracker on his..."
Before she could finish, Hannah's phone rang again.
She looked at the screen. It was an unknown number, but the IP address showed it was from Country D.
Hannah immediately guessed it was the woman who kidnapped Oliver. She didn't hesitate and answered the call, putting the phone to her ear. "Hello."
A sharp, cackling laugh came from the other end. "By my calculations, you should be at the prison gates by now, right?"
Hannah's heart skipped a beat, thinking they were being watched. She quickly looked around. The prison was in a remote area, with no residents nearby. There wasn't a soul in sight.
As she looked around, she responded, "Yes, I'm at the prison gates, about to bring Austin out."
The woman on the other end said, "Once you have him, take him straight to the airport and fly to the location I specified. Remember, just the two of you. No one else."
Hannah didn't dare argue. "Okay!"
"I'll be waiting for your good news. Remember, no tricks. Oliver's life depends on it."
Hannah tensed up. "Don't you dare hurt him! I won't play any tricks, but if you harm Oliver, I won't let Austin leave."
"As long as you follow my instructions, Oliver will be fine." With that, the woman hung up, not giving Hannah a chance to respond.
Hannah immediately handed her phone to Charles, asking him to trace the call.
Unfortunately, the woman was smart. She turned off her phone right after the call ended.
Charles checked the system and found the number was untraceable.
Seeing his expression, Hannah knew the result. "Couldn't trace it?"
Charles nodded. "Yeah, this person is very cautious. Since she's working with Austin, she must know my capabilities and has taken precautions."
Hannah's eyes darkened. "We don't have a choice. We have to follow her instructions. Let's go inside and get Austin to the specified location," Hannah said, her voice trembling.
Patricia placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "I found out that Tina has recovered. Why not let her remove the hypnosis on you first, then release Austin?"
Hannah looked worried. "But she said to take Austin to the airport immediately."
Charles interjected, "No rush. She can only estimate the time, not pinpoint it exactly. Let Tina remove the hypnosis first, and I'll prepare a tracking device. Tina's quick with hypnosis removal. To save time, we'll bring her here and do it in the car."
Martin nodded in agreement. "That sounds like a plan."
Carter also agreed. "I think it's doable."
Seeing everyone in agreement, Hannah reluctantly nodded.
She wasn't particularly fixated on regaining her old memories.
Knowing she grew up with Charles and that Carter and Lassie were her biological parents was enough for her.
But she knew her parents wanted her to remember her past, the little moments from her childhood.
Not wanting to disappoint them, she agreed.
After they made the plan, Charles handed Hannah over to others, while he went to prepare the tracking device.
Just as he left, Hannah's phone rang again.
It was the same number from Country D.
Hannah's heart sank, a sense of foreboding rising within her. When she answered, her fears were confirmed.
"Why haven't you brought Austin out yet? Are you trying to play tricks?" Before she could respond, she heard Oliver's screams of pain.
Hannah's heart clenched. "Don't hurt him."
The woman's voice was smug. "If you don't want me to hurt him, get Austin out of prison and take him to the location I specified. Otherwise..."
Oliver's screams intensified.
He shouted, "Hannah, don't listen to her! Don't worry about me."
Before he could finish, his screams became even more agonizing.
Clearly, he was being beaten again.
Tears welled up in Hannah's eyes. "I'll get Austin out right now and take him to the airport. Just stop hurting Oliver. He's just a kid, he doesn't know anything."
"Immediately. My patience is running thin. If I catch you trying anything, I'll cut off one of Oliver's fingers." With that, she hung up again.
Hannah couldn't hold back her tears any longer and started sobbing.
She clutched Lassie's hand tightly, desperate. "Mom, we need to get Austin out now. That woman must have people watching us. She knows Charles left and that Austin is still in prison. Oliver is being hurt badly! She said if I try anything, she'll cut off Oliver's fingers. Mom, I can't risk Oliver's safety anymore. We need to get Austin out, now."
"Can this person really see everything we're doing?" Lassie looked at Carter, seeking his opinion.
Carter's face was grim. "If she knows our every move, we can't take any chances. We need to follow her instructions and get Austin out."
Lassie was reluctant. "But what if something happens to Violet? I promised to protect her."
The feeling of wanting to protect but being powerless was truly devastating.
