Chapter 1003 Becoming a Family
After listening, everyone was shocked.
Everyone's eyes widened, and they didn't react for a long time.
After a while, Fannie finally found her voice, "She..."
Fannie thought for a long time but still didn't know how to express her feelings at the moment.
It was Charles who broke the silence first. "She hurt Hannah. If Stella hadn't arrived in time, things might have reached an irreparable point. So, I must teach her a lesson."
Except for Elijah, everyone had mixed feelings.
After all, they had grown up with Violet. Even though they had been apart for seven years, their bond was still deep. Seeing her like this now, they couldn't help but sigh and reminisce about Violet's childhood.
"If we had known it would turn out like this, we might as well not have found her. At least our memories of her would have remained beautiful! But now..." At this point, Fannie couldn't continue.
Patricia couldn't help but sigh, "Yes! Violet was so obedient and well-behaved as a child! How did she turn out like this? Lassie and Carter have always been upright, and Shirley is smart and obedient. Even their adopted son Austin was well-educated! How did Violet end up like this?"
Fannie agreed, "Yes! Violet was so well-behaved as a child! It's really better to remember than to meet. Carter and Lassie must be very sad now."
Martin said, "I'll call them later and ask them to come back for Christmas! They went there to treat Violet's illness, but now that she doesn't need treatment, they don't need to stay there for the holidays."
Fannie took a deep breath, put away her complicated feelings, and took Hannah's arm. "Let's not talk about sad things! Your name is Hannah, right? I hear your name every day. This should be our first meeting. You can call me Fannie; that's what everyone calls me. I'll call you Hannah."
Hannah liked the lively Fannie very much.
She had been very nervous on the way here, but after Fannie's words, she felt much more relaxed.
Patricia took Hannah's other arm and said, "We were just about to have lunch. It's perfect timing; join us."
Hannah replied, "Okay. Thank you."
After thanking them, Hannah walked to the table with them and sat down.
Randy took the initiative to sit with Elijah and Fannie, leaving seats for Charles and Hannah.
Patricia looked at Hannah, who was sitting diagonally across from her. The more she looked, the more she liked her. She kept serving her food.
Patricia said, "Here, try this beef and this shrimp; it's delicious. And the mushroom soup is also good. Try them all. Do you have any dietary restrictions? This is our first official meal together, so I don't know what you like to eat!"
Patricia was very enthusiastic, treating Hannah like her own daughter-in-law.
Hannah was also very obedient. She ate everything Patricia served her.
Patricia served a lot, and Hannah ate a lot. In the end, she was so full that she could barely eat anymore.
Charles's brow twitched. When he saw Hannah forcing herself to eat the food Patricia had just served, he couldn't help but take her bowl and utensils away.
"If you keep eating, your stomach will burst." Then he glared at Patricia and said, "Do you want to stuff her to death? You keep serving her food; she's eaten two-thirds of the dishes on the table by herself."
As soon as he finished speaking, Fannie covered her mouth and laughed. "That's standard procedure. When Elijah first came over, it was the same! His stomach almost burst, and it took him several days to recover."
Everyone gave Elijah a sympathetic look.
Patricia saw that Hannah's face was indeed red from being too full, her cheeks puffed up, and she hadn't swallowed a bite of food. Patricia immediately felt embarrassed.
Patricia said, "Sorry! I was too happy and got carried away. Since you're full, you don't have to eat anymore!"
Hannah secretly breathed a sigh of relief, put down her utensils, and said softly, "I'm full!"
Fannie also put down her utensils and asked, "Hannah, are you tired? Do you want to take a nap in the afternoon?"
Hannah shook her head. "I'm not tired. I woke up at nine this morning. Do you have something in mind?"
Fannie took Maria's arm, who was sitting next to her. "Then let's go shopping!"
Hannah readily agreed, "Sure!"
Fannie worriedly asked, "Are your injuries okay?"
Hannah shook her head. "It's just soft tissue bruising, nothing serious. It's much better today!"
Fannie said, "Okay! Then let's each go back to our rooms and get ready. We'll meet in the lobby in half an hour."
"Alright!"
Everyone went back to their rooms one after another.
Half an hour later, Patricia, Fannie, Maria, and Hannah went shopping.
Charles, Randy, Declan, and Elijah stayed home to play cards.
Martin went back to his study to call Carter.
The whole house was filled with a festive atmosphere. It wasn't Christmas yet, but it felt like it already was.
In the following days, the four women got along very well.
Hannah found that the women of the Langley family were very easy to get along with. Even though it was their first meeting, it felt like they had known each other for a long time, and they had endless things to talk about.
For the first time, Hannah truly felt the warmth of a family.
Whether it was morning, noon, or evening, the whole family would sit together for meals.
Unlike other wealthy families with a lot of rules, they could chat and gossip during meals. Fannie loved to talk about celebrity gossip.
Hannah learned many secrets about the entertainment industry that others didn't know.
For example, which actress got a role by sleeping with someone, which actor was kept by a wealthy man, and which celebrity had an illegitimate child.
Hannah was amazed and quickly became friends with Fannie, and they had endless things to talk about every day.
