Chapter 1118 Still Arguing

Austin's seemingly meticulous plans couldn't withstand fate; everything had already been predestined.

It was destined for Charles and the others to discover Austin's true nature. It was destined for the truth to come to light.

If Carter hadn't suddenly gone to Country H and had a dispute with Austin, Austin wouldn't have been afraid of Carter waking up and wouldn't have sought out Tina for hypnosis. If Tina hadn't gone to the hospital, Hannah wouldn't have had the chance to leave.

Charles handed the phone to Austin, expressionless, and said, "At this point, the evidence is conclusive. What else do you have to say?"

He originally thought that with Austin's crimes exposed one by one, Austin would be anxious or frantically trying to cover up. Unexpectedly, after a brief loss of control, Austin regained his usual calm.

Austin sat there without struggling, curled his thin lips, and sneered, "You say the phone is mine, so it's mine? Charles, you want to frame me. You're jealous of my past with Hannah, so you try every possible way to get rid of me, even if it means falsely accusing me!"

Charles raised an eyebrow and sneered, "Austin, you are really shameless! The evidence is right here, and you still say I'm framing you?"

If it weren't for the friendship between the Langley family and the Moore family, he wouldn't have wasted so much time. He could have just beaten Austin up or even killed him, like when he found out Austin had tampered with his car.

But because the Langley family and the Moore family were old friends, he couldn't do that. He had to present evidence and convince Carter and Lassie.

Even if he wanted to bring Austin to justice, he had to make everyone believe that Austin was the culprit.

Austin calmly defended himself, "This phone isn't mine!"

Charles laughed in anger and looked at Alan. "Alan!"

Alan took out a phone and played a video. The video showed him and Lassie standing at the entrance of Rose Garden Manor, then walking inside, and following the locator on the phone to Austin's room.

They recorded the entire search process. After seeing the video, Austin's handsome face darkened.

Seeing his expression, Charles coldly curled his lips. "I knew you wouldn't admit it easily, so I had Alan bring Lassie along and record the video as evidence. Austin, now you have nothing to say, right?"

After watching the entire video, Austin suddenly laughed. The panic on his face disappeared again, as if his change in expression was just Charles's illusion.

"If you were determined to frame me, how hard would it be to plant a phone in my room? If you hadn't hidden the phone in my room beforehand, why would Alan go straight to the pocket? He obviously knew where the phone was. Everyone habitually puts their phone in the bedside table drawer or on the bedside table."

He then looked at Lassie, his eyes instantly red, looking aggrieved. "Mom, don't you believe me? It's really Charles framing me! Think about it, if it were really me, would I leave the phone at home? I would definitely hide it somewhere no one could find."

"I wouldn't hide it in my own room. Rose Garden Manor is so big, not every room is occupied. Besides, there's the attic, the wine cellar, the storage room in the back! So many places I could hide it, why would I put it in my own room? Wouldn't I be afraid of being discovered?"

His expression was sincere, his tone choked with grievance.

Lassie said in disappointment, "At this point, you're still arguing? Do you really think I'm a fool?"

Austin said in an aggrieved tone, "There's no mention of my name from beginning to end. Why do you think the person contacting Tina is me? Why do you think this phone is mine? Just because it was found in my room?"

"Rose Garden Manor is so big, with so many servants, and the security isn't so tight that no one can get in! With Charles and the Langley family's capabilities, planting a phone to frame me is a piece of cake! Mom, I'm your son. You know me best. How could I do such a thing?"

At this point, he laughed self-deprecatingly and continued, "Charles even accused me of hurting Dad. No matter how heartless I am, I wouldn't hurt my own father!"

Seeing his angry and sincere look, Lassie hesitated again. It wasn't because she was indecisive, but because she subconsciously didn't want Austin to be that kind of person.

She didn't want to believe she had raised such a bastard. Besides, Austin was right! The conversation on the phone never mentioned Austin's name. How could they be sure it was him?

But she also knew Charles's character very well. Charles was upright and selfless, and would never do something as despicable as framing someone.

But Austin spoke so convincingly. For a moment, she didn't know what to do.

Seeing Lassie's resolve waver, Charles didn't blame her. After all, Austin was the son she had raised for twenty years, and she had always treated him as her own son. It wasn't easy to sever that bond.

Charles looked at Austin mockingly. "Do you really think I wouldn't have a backup plan?"

Austin was startled but didn't show it. "I didn't do it, and no matter how you frame me, it won't work."

Charles laughed sarcastically and waved his hand.

In a moment, the warehouse door opened again. A doctor in a white coat and mask walked in with an instrument case.

Austin looked at him in confusion, not knowing why Charles had called a doctor. Could it be a lie detector? Charles wanted to use an instrument to test whether he was telling the truth?

Thinking of this, Austin's body began to tremble involuntarily.

Although there wasn't a lie detector in the world that was 100% accurate, after Charles's series of actions, he couldn't help but wonder if Charles had developed a 100% accurate lie detector.

Austin looked at Tina for help. He hoped Tina could hypnotize Charles and the others and help him escape. Unfortunately, all he got was Tina's helpless look.

As Austin's heart sank, Charles spoke again. "Whether this phone is yours or if I'm framing you, we can find out by extracting the fingerprints on it!"

Upon hearing this, Austin truly panicked. He had considered the possibility of the phone being discovered. So every time he contacted Tina, he would delete all the content on the phone.

He thought that even if the phone was found, nothing could be traced. At that time, he could just deny it was his. After all, he never mentioned his name when contacting Tina. Without evidence, no one could convict him.

But he didn't expect the phone to have his fingerprints. And he was the only one who had used this phone, so it would only have his fingerprints. This time, he was completely done for.
