Chapter 1150 Reunion

Listening to their conversation, Charles couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.

"Hannah, have you got your memory back, or do you just know about your background?"

The difference was huge.

If she had her memory back, Hannah would know she was Violet and remember her childhood. But if she just knew her background, it meant she knew she was Violet without recalling her past, indicating the hypnosis on her wasn't fully broken.

Hannah rubbed her temples and said, "I know my background! In a dream, my mom told me my name is Violet. They are my real parents! I was kidnapped in middle school, and later, Austin gave me to Quentin and Lisa to raise. Quentin and Lisa mistreated me because I wasn't their real daughter. My mom came to rescue me."

Her words made Lassie, Carter, and Charles frown at the same time.

So, Hannah only knew her background but hadn't regained her memory.

Charles looked at Tina. "What's going on? Didn't you say you could break her hypnosis?"

Tina, exhausted and pale, wiped the sweat from her face and panted, "Her mental block was stronger than I thought! Most people would have been pulled back in the first dream. She wasn't pulled back until the second dream, and even created a challenge for herself because of her past experiences. The crack on the ground wasn't supposed to be there. It was a self-protection mechanism she created! Luckily, Mrs. Moore jumped in after her without hesitation, breaking all her mental blocks. Otherwise, today's dream entry wouldn't have worked. Because of the difficulty, I used up too much energy and couldn't break her hypnosis. I thought it was more important to wake her from her dream first. We can work on restoring her memory once I recover. I can't continue tonight."

Charles didn't fully trust her and raised an eyebrow. "Are you telling the truth?"

Tina gave a self-deprecating smile and weakly said, "Why would I lie? I want her to remember quickly so I can leave with Austin. I want her to regain her memory more than anyone. Besides, I didn't perform her initial hypnosis, so breaking it isn't as easy as you think. It takes a lot of energy. If I run out of energy halfway, it would harm her more! I never fight a battle I'm not confident in. If I take action, I must succeed."

She paused and added, "But I've already broken the hypnosis I placed on her! She hasn't regained Violet's memory, but she remembers everything about Hannah."

Charles had already noticed this. After Hannah woke up, her demeanor and speech indicated she remembered everything about being Hannah.

However, Tina and Austin were always scheming.

Charles stared at Tina with sharp eyes, and seeing her expression didn't seem like she was lying, so he chose to believe her for now. "Alright, I'll take you back to the detention center. Rest and recover your strength. When you're ready, have the police contact me, and I'll bring you back."

Tina nodded. "I need to rest a bit. I'm too weak to walk right now."

Charles nodded and didn't say anything more. He wasn't sure what had happened in the ward, but from Tina's words and her pale face, it was clear waking Hannah from her dream had been tough. He decided to let her rest.

Meanwhile, Lassie was holding Hannah's hand, expressing how much she had missed her over the years. "Hannah, I'm so sorry for all the suffering you've endured! It's my fault. When we first met at D University, I didn't recognize you! I'm not a good mother."

Hannah wiped away her tears and comforted her, "I know you've been looking for me all these years and found many girls who looked like me! Besides, you had just found your daughter. It's normal not to recognize me! I don't blame you!"

Carter stood by the bed, gently stroking her hair. Hannah's hair was messy from lying in bed for so long, but it was soft and comforting to touch, bringing a sense of familiarity.

This feeling was both familiar and strange. When Violet was little, he loved to stroke her hair like this. When he found the fake Violet, he did the same, but it never felt right. He thought it was because Violet had grown up and they had been apart for so long. But now, touching Hannah's hair brought back that familiar feeling, touching the softest part of his heart. His heart ached with both happiness and pain, and tears welled up in his eyes. "You are always so considerate and kind. I should have realized sooner that such a kind child wouldn't grow up to be so cruel. If I had noticed earlier, so many things wouldn't have happened. Violet, your mom and I are sorry for all the suffering you've endured."

Hannah, with tears in her eyes, smiled and shook her head. "No, I understand! You finally found your daughter after seven years and did a DNA test. It's natural to want to make up for lost time, so it's understandable you were deceived. I can feel your pain, struggle, guilt, and self-blame after discovering the fake Violet's true nature. I don't blame you. You've suffered more than anyone."

No one wanted to see their sweet child turned cruel. During that time, Carter visibly became more tired, with weariness etched on his face.

Despite this, they never gave up on Violet, always guiding her towards kindness, showing their genuine love. They just mistook the fake Violet for her.

Lassie hugged Hannah, gently stroking her back. "Sweetheart, we're finally reunited. We'll never be apart again!"

"Yes! I'll never leave you again." Hannah had just reunited with Lassie and Carter, and they had endless things to say.

Charles, after Tina regained some strength, drove her back to the detention center, leaving Lassie, Carter, and Hannah to talk.

Hannah seemed to have been dreaming for a long time.

Lassie thought she had been in her dream for a long time, but in reality, only half an hour had passed.
