Chapter 702 Irrational Actions in Crisis
Hunter turned around again, his gaze traveling up from Patricia's face all the way to the hairpin on top of Patricia's head.
Patricia was surprised and took a step back subconsciously.
Hunter smiled and reached out to take the hairpin off Patricia's head.
"Give it back to me." Patricia reached out to snatch back the hairpin.
There was a locator placed by Martin inside the hairpin, and Martin could only find Patricia by following the locator in it.
As Patricia's hand reached out, Hunter deliberately shook his hand, causing the hairpin to fall to the ground.
Patricia exclaimed and crouched down to pick it up.
Unfortunately, before Patricia's hand could touch the hairpin, Hunter viciously stomped on it. The locator installed in the hairpin was also exposed.
Patricia was dumbfounded, staring blankly at the broken locator under her foot.
Hunter, on the other hand, smiled more wickedly, deliberately showing a sorry expression and pretending to be surprised. "There's actually something inside."
Hunter bent down, picked up the broken locator, and held it in his hand.
"It's a locator! There's even a miniature recorder inside, both broken! What a pity; it's all broken now. Martin probably won't be able to track your whereabouts."
The only hope shattered.
Patricia went crazy and beated Hunter. "You bastard, go to hell."
Hunter grabbed Patricia's hand with his left hand, lifted her chin with his right hand, looked down at her with a smirk, and said, "You can curse as you like, but now you belong to me."
With that, he left triumphantly.
Patricia squatted down, picked up the broken hairpin on the ground, a wicked smile playing on her face.
Meanwhile, the signal tracking Patricia's location suddenly went offline.
Sebastian nervously asked, "What's going on? Why did the tracking disappear?"
Martin's face turned serious as he said, "Hunter must have found it!"
Sebastian hurriedly asked, "What should we do? He's too cunning; he must have hidden well; it might not be easy to find Patricia."
Martin pointed to a circled area on the map on the computer screen. "Go here! Although the signal is gone, Hunter is shown to be in this area! We'll surround this area and search house by house."
Sebastian nodded. "The search area is narrowed, it should be easier to find! I'll give the orders."
Martin looked at the map on the computer, his face dark.
The next day, as the search team approached, Hunter sensed danger and prepared to relocate with Patricia.
Shortly after the car left, dozens of black SUVs chased after them from behind.
"Damn it." Hunter cursed. He sensed trouble and slammed the accelerator to the floor.
This was a remote suburb. Although the roads were all paved, there were almost no people on the road at this moment.
Hunter fled unimpeded.
Patricia sat in the passenger seat, looking at Hunter expressionlessly, and said coldly, "Just surrender! You can't escape!"
Hunter was very smart; he immediately realized he had been tricked.
Hunter stared ahead angrily, gritted his teeth and asked, "Did you conspire against me with them?"
Patricia didn't answer.
At this moment, Patricia dared not provoke Hunter.
Afraid that Hunter, in his anger, would do something irrational.
Patricia couldn't afford to have anything happen. She had to go back alive to see Martin and the five children.
"Listen to me, you are completely surrounded now; you can't escape! Stop struggling in vain."
As she spoke, Patricia tried to soften her voice as much as possible.
Even though Patricia wanted to kill Hunter herself, she still had to calm his emotions.
Unfortunately, Hunter didn't listen to a word; he looked at the chasing cars in the rearview mirror, extremely angry, and wildly swerved the steering wheel like a madman.
The black sedan twisted and turned on the road like a snake, crashing around.
Martin, who was at the front of the car fleet, sensed something was wrong and called Sebastian, "Where are you guys now?"
"We're here!"
Just as the words fell, the high beams flashed not far ahead.
"Surround front and back! This time we must catch him no matter what!" Martin ended the call and directed how to surround them with his phone.
Seeing the current situation, Hunter's face darkened to the extreme.
"Damn it!" Hunter cursed, gripping the steering wheel tightly with both hands, his eyes full of unwillingness.
Why?
Why did he lose again?
Every time he lost to Martin, both in love and career.
Even the elaborate conspiracy that Hunter had planned for so long was actually calculated by Martin, pushing Hunter to the brink of despair.
Patricia's body swayed from side to side with the car.
Seeing that Hunter was about to go crazy and not listen to anything, Patricia placed one hand on the seatbelt button and the other hand fumbled for the door lock.
If Hunter didn't slow down, preparing to confront Martin and the others head-on, Patricia could only take a gamble for the sake of her life. Jumping out of the car was dangerous, but at least it could save her life.
Just as Patricia hesitated to jump out of the car, Sebastian's voice came through the horn in front.
"Hunter, stop the car now. If you surrender voluntarily and let Patricia go, I promise you that I will spare your life. I won't kill you."
Hunter sneered, coldly mocking.
He thought, 'Without Patricia, what's the point of living?'
Without Patricia, Hunter's life was about to plunge into darkness again.
Rather than living in pain, it was better to die with Patricia.
If they couldn't be together alive, they would die together.
The words were already spoken, but Hunter showed no sign of stopping, still pressing the accelerator frantically.
Sebastian's face changed again, and he spoke into the horn, "Hunter, since you've tried everything to get Patricia, you must truly love her. If so, how can you bear to watch her die?"
"If you don't stop now, the car will go out of control!"
"Do you really want to see Patricia die because of you?"
"You don't want Patricia hate you, do you? Isn't it better to keep a last bit of conscience?"
After hearing Sebastian's words, Hunter's speed indeed slowed down.
Hunter turned to look at Patricia.
He loved Patricia.
He valued Patricia more than his own life.
With Hunter's hesitation, the speed slowed down more and more.
Everyone sighed in relief, thinking that Hunter had listened.
Just as they were slowing down to pull over to the side of the road, Hunter suddenly slammed on the accelerator again, and the small sedan shot out like an arrow.
Things happened too quickly.
Everyone was caught off guard.
They watched as Hunter's car crashed into their car head-on.
Hunter, with red eyes, looked ahead, laughing like a completely irrational madman.
"Patricia, let's die together." Hunter exclaimed loudly.
Patricia let out a terrified scream, her eyes widened. Her body was drained of strength, unable to move an inch. She staredat the car headed toward the oncoming black SUV.
