Chapter 656 The Cruel Truth

When the call ended, his face turned dark.

Putting his phone back in his pocket, Ryan said gloomily, "Martin, the results are out! The car was indeed tampered with, there are signs of sabotage on the fuel tank and brake pads. This is very strange."

Martin asked in a serious tone, "Why?"

Ryan explained, "Billy deliberately blocked the information, not allowing this news to spread! The people I sent had to pay a hefty price to get this information."

Pausing for a moment, Ryan wondered, "How do you reckon he blocked the information? It must be that Maximilian's incident was orchestrated by him. He's afraid that Maximilian will find out about the shady things he's been doing behind the scenes, so he wants to silence him."

After a moment of silence, Martin said, "First, get the phone fixed! There might be some clues in the phone! We'll deal with the rest once the phone is fixed."

"Alright! I'll go now!"

Ryan nodded and left with the phone.

Even though he didn't like meddling in other people's affairs.

But this matter was related to Martin and Patricia, so he had to get involved.

Charles had just narrowly escaped death, he couldn't afford any more trouble.

Fixing the phone screen was quick.

Excitedly, Ryan pushed open the door to Martin's ward. "Martin, the phone is fixed. Inside, there's really..."

Before he could finish his sentence, he saw Kaleb standing by Martin's bed, the rest of his words stuck in his throat, his expression freezing instantly.

After a moment, he forced a smile. "Kaleb, you're here. What brings you in person? Where's the butler?"

"I came to see Maximilian, and by the way, to check on Martin's condition."

"Alright."

Ryan nodded, feeling awkward as he found a place to sit, wanting to find a topic to break the awkward atmosphere.

However, not adept at lying, he felt guilty. His mind went blank, unable to conceal anything, almost wearing all his thoughts on his face.

Seeing that Ryan had something to say but couldn't do so in his presence, Kaleb considerately took his leave, saying, "Martin is progressing well in his recovery, so I'll take my leave for now."

Ryan immediately stood up and bowed. "Alright!"

Kaleb fell silent.

Martin fell silent.

"Alright!" Kaleb was amused by him, smiled, and left.

Martin gave him a look. "You should learn to control your expressions! Are you worried that people won't realize you're feeling guilty?"

Ryan ran his hand through his hair. "I've been like this since I was young, you know! Can't help it!"

Martin couldn't be bothered with these, and asked, "What did you say was inside?"

With his reminder, Ryan quickly remembered the important matter, took out his phone, and played the recorded call.

Maximilian's voice came through clearly.

"You're lying."

"I'm not lying!"

"You said that woman's name was Linda? Her child's name was Mike?"

""Since it was all prepared by you, why were the names wrong? You said they were Linda and Mike, but why are the names on the tombstone Margaret and Mike?""

"Who instructed you to do this?"

"It was him! Although I didn't see the person's face, I remember his back""

"Don't tell anyone about my visit today, otherwise, if something happens, I can't guarantee your safety."

"I won't say anything, I won't say a word even if threatened with death. You can trust me."

The conversation ended there.

The room fell into a quiet hush.

A mysterious aura lingered in the air.

Ryan scrolled through his phone, finally selecting a group photo. "There are only a few photos in Maximilian's album, and this one is a back view."

Martin's gaze shifted to the phone album.

In the photo, six people stood side by side on the beach, facing away from the camera.

There were two women and four men.

Ryan pointed to the people in the photo. ""This person should be Lisa, and this woman should be her mother. These two should be Kaleb and Joe. And the other two should be Maximilian and Billy. The Martindlady said the person who instructed her to lie had a broader back than Maximilian. That leaves only him.""

Ryan finally Martinded his finger on Billy.

Although he wasn't familiar with these six people, their features were distinct.

Lisa was slender, about a head shorter than Maximilian. Susan was plump. Joe and Kaleb showed signs of aging, exuding a sense of weariness even from their backs.

Billy was slightly taller than Maximilian.

Now all the evidence seemed to point to Billy.

From exposing Patricia's impersonation of Kaleb's daughter to Maximilian's incident, everything was connected to Billy.

The mastermind behind the scenes was becoming apparent.

Seeing Martin lost in thought, Ryan couldn't help but ask, "Charles, what should we do now? Should we reveal Billy's true identity to Kaleb? Although it's cruel, it's better to be proactive than to associate with bad people. If Billy harms someone again, it'll be too late."

Martin said solemnly, "We need to think carefully! Don't tell Kaleb about this for now! Let's wait until Maximilian wakes up before deciding."

Without hesitation, Ryan asked, "But what if he never wakes up?"

As soon as the words left his mouth, a sharp gaze fell upon him.

Ryan felt a chill down his spine, shrunk his neck, muttered softly, "I was telling the truth! Patricia isn't completely sure."

His voice grew smaller and smaller.

Because Martin's gaze was becoming more and more terrifying, as if he was about to kill someone.

Ryan simply remained silent, keeping his lips sealed.

Martin said, "Actually, what you said makes sense! Let's not just sit around and wait, let's take the initiative."

Martin looked at him as the corners of his mouth curled upwards.

He was smiling.

At night, the bright moonlight streamed through the French doors of the balcony, casting a glow in the dark room.

Martin lay quietly on the hospital bed, breathing evenly.

Ryan set up a folding bed next to the hospital bed, his tall figure curled up on the small folding bed, looking pitiful.

The handle on the door above the hospital room door moved gently.

Moments later, the door creaked open from the outside.

A shadowy figure slipped inside, moving stealthily towards the hospital bed. Leaning over, they gazed down at the slumbering Martin, their silhouette stretching across the room.
