Chapter 1219 Destined
Stella was a real go-getter. Once she set her sights on something, she went all in. She quickly launched a full-on charm offensive on Emeric.
During dinner, she started texting him.
Stella: [Hey Emeric, have you had dinner yet?]
She snapped a picture of the seafood spread on the table and sent it to him.
Stella: [I'm already eating! Tonight, we have my favorite, king crab!]
Stella: [It'd be awesome if we could have dinner together!]
Stella: [Are you busy? Why aren't you replying? Did you not see my messages?]
Stella: [Where are you? Come on, come on.]
Hannah and Charles sat on one side, while Stella and Randy sat on the other.
Charles patiently peeled the seafood for Hannah. Since she was pregnant and couldn't eat too much seafood, he only peeled one crab claw for her and then put the other dishes into her plate.
As Hannah ate, she watched Stella's smiling face and couldn't help but roll her eyes. "Can you finish your meal before texting? Look at you, sending so many messages, and he hasn't replied to a single one. Clearly, he's not interested."
Stella shot back, "How do you know he hasn't replied?"
Hannah sighed, "I can hear the notifications! If he replied, your phone would make a sound."
"Fine! But," Stella paused, her excitement undiminished, "I don't know what failure is! I only know that if I like something, I have to go after it."
Charles gave Randy a meaningful look.
Ever since Stella declared she liked a challenge, his twin brother had been silent.
At that moment, Randy was quietly peeling crab meat and putting it into Stella's plate. His actions were so natural and practiced, as if he had done it countless times before.
They were identical twins. Although they couldn't fully understand each other's thoughts, they could sense a bit.
Randy had always been a little different when it came to Stella.
Just as Randy put the crab meat into her plate, Stella snapped another picture of the table, accidentally capturing Randy's hand in the shot.
"Hey, why doesn't Facebook have a read receipt feature? That way, I'd know if he saw my messages!" As soon as she said that, Emeric's message came through.
Emeric: [Are you with Randy?]
Seeing his reply, Stella's eyes lit up, and she quickly responded: [Yeah! I'm with Randy!]
Stella: [You finally replied! I thought you were busy and didn't have time to check your phone!]
Emeric didn't respond to her comment, instead focusing on Randy.
Emeric: [Is Randy in Country D now?]
Stella was in a great mood because of his reply.
Stella: [Yeah! He just finished a tour and is resting at home. Since I'm just starting out, he decided to stay and keep an eye on my piano practice.]
This time, Emeric replied quickly: [So, Randy won't be leaving Country D anytime soon?]
Stella: [That's right!]
Stella: [Have you eaten? What did you have for dinner? Where did you eat? I love the food at the third cafeteria. When you have time, let's go there together!]
Stella had just been making small talk, but to her surprise, Emeric agreed right away.
Emeric: [How about tomorrow?]
Seeing his message, Stella was initially in disbelief. She rubbed her eyes to make sure she wasn't seeing things, then excitedly squealed, almost jumping out of her chair. "He asked me to dinner tomorrow at the third cafeteria! Haha, I told you, if I make the first move, no man can resist me."
Randy quietly put more crab meat into her plate and said calmly, "Eat while you chat."
Stella lowered her head, took a few bites, and continued texting: [I'm free tomorrow, both lunch and dinner!]
Emeric: [I have something in the afternoon, so let's do dinner! Six o'clock, at the third cafeteria entrance.]
Stella: [Great! See you there!]
After confirming the time and place for their date, Stella finally put her phone away, and even the seafood on the table tasted better.
Hannah asked, "He asked you out that fast?"
Randy glanced at Stella without a word.
Stella didn't notice his look and proudly lifted her chin. "Of course! I'm the campus queen of D University. When I pursue someone, it's a done deal."
Hannah sighed, "Just remember to keep your guard up and don't let him fool you. If you have any doubts, come to me."
Stella laughed, "I used to say those things to you. I never thought you'd be saying them to me one day! Don't worry, I'm not brainless!"
Seeing her confidence, Hannah didn't say more.
Charles gave Randy a meaningful look. "Randy, don't you have anything to say to her?"
Randy paused in peeling the crab, then quickly resumed, his expression unchanged. "Dates are fine, but don't skip our daily practice."
Stella nodded vigorously. "I know! Practice at eight every night for two hours. We finish classes at five, so there's plenty of time for dinner."
"Good," Randy responded softly and said no more.
Charles sighed lightly and continued peeling seafood for Hannah.
After dinner, Charles drove them to tour a villa in the new southern district.
Three days later, Charles and Hannah moved in.
Since Hannah didn't like strangers handling her personal items, she enlisted Stella's help to pack.
After touring the villa, the four of them went to Stella's house.
Randy and Stella practiced piano in the music room, while Charles and Hannah chatted with Maximilian Carol downstairs.
Somehow, Stella made several mistakes tonight, but she patiently corrected them.
Listening to the piano from upstairs, Carol felt gratified. "Stella has finally found something she's passionate about! She used to lose interest in everything quickly. When asked, she didn't even know what she liked! But she's stuck with the piano all this time. It's a miracle."
"Yes, it's the first time I've seen her so dedicated to something." Hannah sighed inwardly.
If Stella hadn't suddenly taken an interest in piano, she wouldn't have noticed Emeric.
It really seemed like it was meant to be.
