Chapter 1142 Personal Experience of Hannah's Past

Hannah's head pounded harder with each passing second.

She didn't know who to trust anymore.

She should believe her mom, but somehow, she felt like trusting the stranger standing in front of her.

However, her mom said this woman was a liar.

She clearly remembered living with her grandma when she was little.

It was completely different from what the woman had told her.

Two voices kept shouting in her ears. ' Trust her. Don't trust her.'

These voices were driving her insane.

Her head felt like it was going to explode.

"Stop it. You're all liars. All of you are liars."

Finally, she couldn't take it anymore. She screamed and ran away.

Seeing her run, Lassie angrily slapped Lisa twice. "You wretch, if anything happens to my daughter, I'll make sure you suffer a thousand cuts, make you wish you were dead. Whether in dreams or reality, you're always detestable."

With that, she chased after Hannah.

As soon as she ran out of the hospital, the world around her spun.

Lassie's body spun too, almost tripping and falling. The scene changed rapidly, and when she steadied herself, she was no longer at the hospital entrance.

She was bewildered, anxiously shouting Hannah's name. "Hannah, come out. I'm telling the truth. You really are my biological daughter. Lisa and Quentin aren't your real parents! I have been looking for you all these years. Please come out and see me."

Her voice echoed in the empty surroundings.

Lassie didn't know where she was or when it was. There was no one around, and she couldn't see Hannah.

She was so anxious that tears streamed down her face.

"Hannah, where are you? Please come out and see me. I'm not a kidnapper. I'm here to take you home. Hannah."

As she shouted, a row of streetlights suddenly appeared ahead.

She frowned slightly, still confused about the situation, when she saw Hannah with a backpack, head down, walking toward an old house.

"It's Hannah." Lassie's face lit up with joy, and she was about to chase after her when a man blocked her path.

The man was overweight, his face greasy, with yellow teeth. He leered at Hannah while touching his belt.

Seeing him, Hannah instinctively stepped back, clutching her backpack tightly. "What do you want? If you come any closer, I'll scream."

The man didn't seem afraid of her threats, advancing step by step. "Scream all you want. See if anyone comes to save you! Don't forget, everyone here knows you're a little tramp, always seducing men, selling your body for money. Heh. Do you think they'll believe you or me?"

Hannah kept retreating, accidentally stepping on a stone and almost falling.

Lassie gasped, instinctively wanting to reach out, but saw the man grab Hannah's waist and pull her into his arms.

Hannah screamed, hitting him with her backpack. "Get away, you jerk. Don't touch me. Please, don't touch me."

The man, annoyed, snatched her backpack and threw it to the ground. "Why are you screaming? I won't hurt you! After you sleep with me, I'll give you money. Everyone knows your family is poor, and your mom loves money! Whether you sell yourself to others or to me, it's the same."

As he spoke, he reached out to touch Hannah's face.

Hannah screamed, closing her eyes, and lashed out like a wildcat.

Caught off guard, the man got scratched, leaving three bloody marks on his face.

He hissed in pain, wiping his face, his hand covered in blood. Furious, he slapped Hannah hard.

Hannah took the hit, falling to the ground.

Lassie was both angry and anxious, wanting to help but unable to move.

"You jerk, stay away from my daughter." Unable to move, she shouted.

But it was useless.

No one could see or hear her.

Instead, their commotion attracted many neighbors.

Seeing Hannah being hit, they didn't help or stop it. They blamed her.

"Her again? Is she out looking for money, seducing men?"

"She's disgraced our neighborhood, always scheming."

"Yeah! If she wants to sell herself, go to a nightclub. More men, more money."

"With her looks, no nightclub would take her. She can only seduce men here."

"I heard she tried to seduce a seventy-year-old man recently! She'll take any man."

At that moment, a fat woman rushed from the crowd.

Seeing her, the man grabbed her arm, pointing to his face, complaining, "Honey, she tried to seduce me! Look, I refused, and she scratched my face! This filthy tramp."

The fat woman, enraged, grabbed Hannah's hair and started hitting her.

Hannah screamed, trying to escape, but was blocked, with no way out.

Lassie's heart felt like it was breaking. "It's not true. Hannah is innocent. Don't hit her, don't hit my daughter."

She never knew people could be so cruel.

So many people, attacking a little girl.

Their words were so vicious.

But no matter how she shouted, they couldn't hear her.

In her desperation, she spotted Lisa in the crowd.

Lisa watched coldly, showing no reaction as Hannah was beaten.

Lassie was frantic, pleading, "Lisa, Hannah is your daughter. Help her. She's innocent. You're her adoptive mother. Help her."

But Lisa remained indifferent.

The neighbors saw her and couldn't help but criticize, "How do you raise your daughter? Look at her. Keep her at home, don't let her out."

Lisa sneered, "That brat grew up with her grandmother. Didn't learn anything good, just how to seduce men. I've tried to teach her many times, but she never changes!

I can't watch her all the time.

It's my fault. If I knew, I wouldn't have let her grandmother raise her, turning her into this.

Keep your men away from her. She's full of tricks, seducing them. Don't blame me later."

Lisa's disdainful words were like a branding iron, searing into Lassie's mind.

She trembled with anger.

She knew Lisa treated her daughter poorly, but never imagined it was this bad.

Her precious daughter, treated so cruelly.
