Chapter 1190 Pregnancy Reaction
Everyone was stunned.
Charles was the first to react. He quickly followed her and saw her leaning over the sink, vomiting. He gently patted her back. "Hey, what's wrong? Is your stomach upset? Let's get you to the hospital."
Hannah shook her head, took a deep breath, and was about to respond when another wave of nausea hit her, causing her to vomit again.
At that moment, Patricia came over with a cup of tea and handed it to Charles. "Quick, have Hannah drink some warm water to soothe her stomach!"
Charles took the cup and waited until Hannah finished vomiting before bringing the cup to her lips.
Hannah had been vomiting for so long that her eyes were starting to glaze over. She took a sip from the cup.
But as soon as the warm water went down, her stomach felt worse again.
This time, she vomited even more violently, almost bringing up bile.
"Mom, can you get an appointment with a specialist for Hannah? I'll take her to the hospital right away! She was fine last night, but now she's suddenly vomiting so badly! Could it be that the air conditioning was too cold last night and she caught a chill?" Charles said.
Patricia didn't rush to make an appointment. Her expression was somewhat intriguing. "Hannah, did this start this morning?"
Charles nodded. "Yeah! Everything was normal last night! This only started this morning."
Patricia looked at Hannah. "Hannah, besides vomiting, do you have any other symptoms? Like diarrhea, weakness, dizziness?"
Hannah, still hunched over and feeling miserable, shook her head and replied indistinctly, "No, none of those! I just feel nauseous and want to vomit."
Patricia's suspicion was almost confirmed. "Charles, wait until Hannah finishes vomiting and then help her back to her room. I'll be right back!"
Charles frowned. "Aren't we going to the hospital? Shouldn't we get a gastroscopy?"
Patricia shook her head. "Not for now! Just help her rest in her room. Usually, once the stomach is emptied, she'll feel better."
Charles's brows furrowed deeply.
He was clearly dissatisfied with Patricia's response.
Patricia noticed his concern and smiled, patting his shoulder. "I'm a doctor, remember? Do you doubt my words?"
Afraid of misunderstanding, Charles quickly explained, "That's not what I meant! I'm just worried about delaying her treatment!"
Patricia waved her hand. "Alright, alright, I know you're worried about Hannah! But don't worry, she's your wife. We care about her too. If I say it's fine, it's fine. Help her upstairs to rest, and I'll be back soon."
With Patricia's assurance, Charles felt somewhat relieved.
Hannah was still vomiting over the sink.
Patricia left first.
As she passed through the dining room, Fannie immediately ran over, asking on behalf of everyone, "Is Hannah okay? Did she get a stomach illness from stress these past few days?"
Patricia was amused by her imagination and couldn't help but tap her on the head. "I'm just going out to buy something and will be back soon! You all go ahead and eat!"
Fannie volunteered, "I'll go with you!"
Patricia refused without hesitation, "No, you stay home! If you come with me and get recognized, I won't be able to come back quickly."
"Remember last time we went shopping together? You got recognized by fans, and the whole mall went nuts. It was a mess, and the store's business took a hit. Since then, I swore I'd never go out alone with you again!"
With that, she grabbed the car keys from the entryway and left.
Martin, worried, followed her.
Seeing Martin follow, Patricia didn't say much and drove the car smoothly out of the garage.
Martin stared ahead, seemingly focused on the road, but his mind was elsewhere. He asked absentmindedly, "Is Hannah pregnant?"
Patricia chuckled. "I knew you'd figure it out! The young ones at home haven't experienced this, so they don't know! But it's just my guess. We need to get a pregnancy test to confirm."
A subtle smile appeared on Martin's lips.
Patricia sighed, feeling a bit emotional. "I didn't expect to become a grandmother so soon! Charles, who always seems so serious, got his wife pregnant before marriage. This is so fast! I thought I'd have to wait a few more years!"
Martin was already imagining their future life.
Thinking about a little baby calling him grandpa, his smile spread to his eyes. "When the baby is born, I'll hand the company over to our son completely! Then we can enjoy our retirement and take care of our grandchild."
Patricia, worried he might get too hopeful, cautioned him. "Don't get too excited yet! We need to confirm the pregnancy first!"
Despite her words, Martin couldn't contain his joy, his eyes never losing their smile.
Since Sunshine Manor was halfway up the hill, it took half an hour to get to the nearest pharmacy.
The house had basic emergency supplies, but no pregnancy tests, so they had to go out to buy one.
By the time they returned to Sunshine Manor, an hour had passed.
When they got back, they were surprised to see Lassie and Carter.
The two had just arrived and hadn't gone upstairs yet. Seeing Patricia, Lassie immediately grabbed her hand, anxiously asking, "What's going on with Violet? Fannie told me Violet has been vomiting all morning. Is she seriously ill? I just found my daughter; I can't lose her again! Or could it be a complication from the car accident? I heard from the doctor that vomiting could indicate something serious."
She had been worrying the whole way there, her mind racing with thoughts.
Patricia glared at Fannie.
Fannie knew she had made a mistake and playfully stuck out her tongue, lowering her head without saying a word.
Patricia led Lassie upstairs.
They walked ahead, with the others following behind.
Patricia patted Lassie's hand, comforting her. "The doctor meant that vomiting during ICU observation is serious! It's been a long time since then, and even her leg fracture has healed! It won't be a complication."
Lassie grew more anxious. "Then what could it be? Which department should she see? Internal medicine? I need to find the best, most authoritative specialist."
Patricia, fearing Lassie might start calling for help, took out the pregnancy test as they climbed the stairs.
Seeing the pregnancy test, Lassie was stunned, her mouth agape, her mind blank for a moment, unable to react.
