Chapter 96 Must Find Charles

Seeing that he had figured it out, Patricia nodded with a smile.

"Yes, that's Charles! Because you two look exactly the same, but Charles really wanted to meet you, so he covered his face."

Randy was too shocked to say anything, finding it hard to believe.

Seeing that he was temporarily comforted, Patricia couldn't help but reach out and gently touch his head. "Mommy really loves you. Don't question whether I love you or not, or else I'll be sad."

Randy pouted and asked, "Then why did you give me to Daddy and take him away?"

The change in how he addressed her let Patricia know that he had accepted Charles in his heart.

She explained with a smile, "You were born with an illness, and I had no money at the time. In order for you to survive, I had no choice but to give you to your Daddy. But for these past four years, Mommy has never forgotten about you! I studied day and night, completing both a master's and a Ph.D., in order to come back as soon as possible and cure your illness. Both you and Charles are my precious children. How could I possibly like him more than you? You can doubt everything, but don't doubt my feelings for you."

Finally, Randy believed her words, and his emotions slowly calmed down.

Patricia embraced him once more, softly caressing his little face. "Randy, no matter what unfolds, Mommy will always cherish you. Don't suppress your feelings any longer; it would break Mommy's heart."

Randy nodded vigorously, feeling like he was in a dream, still not daring to believe that this was real.

Randy asked, "Mommy, is Charles really my twin brother?"

Patricia smiled and nodded.

She picked up her phone from the floor, made sure it wasn't broken, downloaded Instagram, and logged into her own account. She opened her photo album and found a picture of herself and Charles, then handed it to him.

In the photo, Charles had his arm around Patricia's neck, their faces pressed against each other, both smiling happily.

Randy looked surprised and asked, "Mommy, when did we take this picture? I don't remember."

Patricia replied, "Look at the date on it."

Following her words, Randy looked at the photo upload date, which was in March of this year.

During March, he was still living in the hospital. He clearly remembered that he hadn't found Mommy at that time.

So, this is my brother Charles?

Patricia nodded, "Once Daddy finds your brother, you can recognize him! Just like me, he has been constantly thinking of you and missing you all these years."

Innocently, Randy asked, "Then why hasn't he come to see me?"

Patricia explained, "Because he looks too much like me, Mommy is afraid that if Daddy finds out about him, he will take him away from me. I have already lost you, I can't lose him too. I wouldn’t be able to survive."

Randy nodded as if understanding, although he didn't understand why Mommy would lose Charles if Daddy knew he was his twin brother, but he didn't continue to ask.

After soothing Randy's emotions, Patricia put him on the bed and let the nurse come in to tidy up the ward.

Randy nestled in Patricia's arms and curiously asked about everything related to Charles.

"Mommy, is Charles very smart?"

Patricia nodded, "Yes, he's very smart! Not just smart, he's exceptionally intelligent.”

Randy then asked, "Is Charles taller than me?"

Patricia shook her head, "No, he's only ten minutes older than you, and you two are about the same height. Even if there's a difference, it's only about a centimeter or two, which is hard to notice without measuring."

"Oh, I see!" Randy asked again, "Will I be able to see Charles soon?"

He really looked forward to meeting Charles. This sentence struck Patricia's fragile heart.

The thought of Charles, whose whereabouts were now unknown, made her heartache once again.

She tightened her arms around Randy, lost in thought, and said, "I hope your Daddy can find Charles soon, so you brothers can meet quickly."

Randy reassured her, "Dad is really capable; he will surely locate Charles."

Patricia lowered her eyes in sorrow and whispered, "I hope so..."

Afraid of arousing suspicion if the passenger ship stopped at the cargo ferry dock, they deliberately docked at the passenger ferry dock and then drove to the dock where OMM was berthed.

Martin, Ryan, and Carter sat in a black off-road vehicle. Ryan made a phone call to inquire about the situation.

After the call, he reported to Martin, "We received a message from the Marine Surveillance. The OMM cargo ship will arrive at the dock in half an hour. They are waiting at the dock, ready to capture the people as soon as the ship stops."

Martin instructed, "Keep it low-profile and excuse it as a routine cargo check to avoid Charles being alerted and Roger taking drastic actions."

He didn't care about Charles, but he didn't want Patricia to be hurt.

Ryan promised with confidence, "Don't worry, I'll make sure you go up to inspect as usual, and Roger won't notice anything suspicious."

"Okay," Martin nodded and closed his eyes to rest.

Half an hour later, the black off-road vehicle arrived at the OMM dock.

The three of them sat in the car and waited for a while, then they saw the OMM cargo ship slowly approaching the dock. Once it was steady, four uniformed marine surveillance personnel calmly boarded for inspection.

The people on the OMM cargo ship led the way calmly.

Martin and the others remained in the off-road vehicle.

About twenty minutes later, Ryan's phone suddenly rang, it was a call from one of the marine surveillance personnel.

"What's wrong? Did you find them?"

"We searched inside and outside the cargo ship, but we didn't find Roger and the little boy. However, we found two strange letters on the cargo ship. H, I."

"H, I? What does that mean?" Ryan furrowed his brow in confusion.

The marine surveillance personnel asked, "What do we do now? Should we withdraw?"

In annoyance, Ryan said, "Since we didn't find them, let's withdraw!"

After hanging up the phone, he looked at Martin and Carter in bewilderment, "What does H, I mean?"

Both Martin and Carter fell into deep thought, but no matter how hard they racked their brains, they couldn't figure out the meaning of these two letters.

Carter helplessly said, "Could Patricia have been mistaken? Perhaps Charles is not on the OMM cargo ship at all?"

Martin remained silent, pondering over the significance of these two letters.

Ryan looked out the car window at the marine surveillance officers coming down from the OMM cargo ship and sighed incessantly, "Ah, we've been rushing around for so many days, and the clue turned out to be wrong! The sea is vast, how can we find him? It's probably difficult!"

Martin furrowed his brows and said, "H, help?"

His words reminded Carter, "Save me?"

His words suddenly startled Ryan and Martin.

Carter continued, "It should be a distress signal sent by Charles to us, but he's afraid of being discovered, so he only wrote two letters."

"Damn it," feeling deceived, Ryan cursed and immediately called the marine surveillance personnel.

"Don't come down, Charles must be on that cargo ship. They must have received some information that made them alert."
