Chapter 760 Saving Hunter
Martin's face darkened, "Are you sure Hunter's on that plane?"
Alan nodded, quitecertain, "I'm sure. That's Hunter! The name on the documents is Hunter too. He almost killed you. I definitely recognize him."
Martin asked, "Can you recognize the ashes Patricia gave you as his?"
Alan was stumped by the question.
"That's just an exaggeration!" Alan said.
Once turned to ashes, Alan couldn't possibly recognize him. Even DNA testing wouldn't work.
Martin grinned, seemingly in a good mood, "I was just messing with you."
Alan chuckled, "Martin, you have quite a sense of humor!"
Martin's smile faded, "Book a ticket for Patricia and me from Country Y to Country D. Then send me the ticket information."
Alan replied, "Alright!"
After ending the call, Martin told the information Alan had found to Patricia.
"Looks like Hunter's been taken to Country D by Joe's people!" Hearing this, Patricia, while packing her luggage, said, "We need to get to Country D quickly! Once Riley finds Hunter's cremation and surveillance information, have him email it to us! Gabriel killed Billy, and the Hill family hates him. Now that Hunter's in their hands, he's sure to die! We must hurry to save him!"
Martin said nothing and started packing his luggage too.
In no time, their luggage was packed, and they had the Koch family's driver taken them to the airport.
On the way to the airport, Patricia sent Riley a message, asking him to email the documents and videos directly to her.
There were only three international flights each day. Patricia and Martin took the third flight at 5 p.m.
When they arrived in Country D, it was snowing, and a thick layer of snow had already piled up on both sides of the walkway, looking quite beautiful.
A cold wind blew, and Patricia shivered, quickly moving to hold Martin's collar together.
Patricia said, "You're not fully recovered yet. Be careful not to catch a cold!"
Martin held her hand, "I'm not cold! Are you?"
Feeling the warmth from his palms, Patricia's heart also felt warm.
She smiled and shook her head, "I'm not cold either! Are we going straight to the Hill family?"
Martin answered, "Yes! Hunter should already be in Country D by now. Since we don't know where he's been taken, the best way is to go directly to Joe!"
Patricia pulled her hands away and took out her phone from her pocket, "Then I'll call Maximilian!"
Maximilian's father, Knox Reed, was a brother of Kaleb. So, she and Maximilian were practically cousins.
The call was quickly answered, and Maximilian, who seemed to still be asleep, spoke in a hoarse voice, "Patricia, what's up?"
Patricia didn't waste any time and got straight to the point, "Maximilian, can you contact Carol? I need your and Carol's help with something."
Maximilian immediately sensed the seriousness of the situation, and his sleepiness vanished instantly.
Maximilian asked, "What happened?"
Martin, holding the luggage in one hand and Patricia's hand in the other, got into a taxi parked at the airport entrance, heading straight for the Hill family.
Once inside the car, the warmth of the heater enveloped them, and Patricia felt much warmer.
Rubbing her face with her hands, Patricia explained the situation to Maximilian.
Maximilian seemed equally shocked.
Maximilian asked, "Are you saying that Joe didn't capture the Hunter who killed his son, but rather Hunter's twin brother?"
If that were true, it would be complicate. Hunter and Gabriel looked exactly same. No matter how they explained, Joe likely wouldn't believe them.
Patricia said, "Yeah! Now Joe thinks he's got the Hunter who killed his son and will definitely want revenge! I need to see Joe right away! But if Martin and I just show up, he probably won't see us!"
The only person who could help them was Carol. She was the only rational one in the Hill family now.
It sounded like Maximilian was getting dressed. There were noises on the other end of the line.
Maximilian said, "Alright! Wait for me at the gate of the Hill family. I'll head over right now!"
Patricia nodded, "Okay! We're already in a taxi! We should be there in about an hour!"
Luckily, they had been to the Hill family before and knew the address.
After ending the call, Patricia checked her email and found a message from Riley.
She opened the email. Inside were Hunter's death certificate and cremation certificate, both with Hunter's photo.
Patricia scrolled down and found surveillance footage from the crematorium. It showed everything from Hunter being placed in the ice coffin to being taken out. There was also surveillance at the cremation furnace, capturing every deceased person being cremated clearly.
Seeing what Riley had sent, Patricia's eyes reddened with excitement, "With this evidence, Joe will believe that the Hunter who killed Billy is truly dead! He captured the wrong person!"
Martin took the phone and reviewed the evidence, nodding in agreement, "The evidence is solid! It should be enough!"
Despite his words, Patricia couldn't completely relax and turned to look out the window.
The snow was falling even harder. The houses, trees, and ground were all covered with a thick layer of snow.
There wasn't a single pedestrian on the road. Winter had truly arrived. Patricia felt a sudden wave of emotion.
An hour later, the taxi stopped in front of a large courtyard.
Since Joe was the Prime Minister of Country D, his residence was surrounded by government officials, making it impossible for others to enter.
Carol, having received Maximilian's call, was already waiting in the guardhouse. Seeing them arrive, she immediately led them inside.
Carol said, "Maximilian told me everything over the phone! Did my dad really capture Hunter's twin brother?"
Patricia nodded and recounted the entire story to Carol.
Carol, however, seemed less worried than Patricia and smiled, "Since my brother died, my parents have been deeply affected! But they are not inherently bad people. If that person is truly not Hunter, they won't harm him."
Patricia remembered something and looked at Carol with concern, "Have Joe and Susan reconciled?"
Before leaving Country Y, Susan had mentioned divorcing Joe.
At the mention of this, the smile on Carol's face faded, "Not yet! But it will happen soon! Because of my father's special status, the divorce is complicated, so the process is a bit troublesome!"
Patricia fell silent instantly.
No one had expected that the loving Joe and Susan would fall apart over this matter.
As they spoke, Carol had already led Patricia and Martin to the Hill family's house.
