Chapter 1171 Escaping with Hannah
After boarding the plane, Austin tried to help Hannah into her seat, but she dodged him.
"Sweetie, you can't sit in a wheelchair on the plane!" Austin coaxed her gently.
Hannah shot him a glare and stood up on her own, moving to the airplane seat. She only had a fractured leg, not a complete disability. She didn't need to be carried around, and she could walk just fine. She was only using the wheelchair to ease everyone's worries.
Austin was puzzled.
Hannah shifted in her seat, moving to the window, propping her head on one hand to look outside, clearly not wanting to engage with Austin.
Austin sighed helplessly, put the wheelchair away, and sat down next to her.
"Hannah." His lips moved, and he finally chose to call her Hannah instead of Violet. Violet was his sister's name, and calling her that made him feel guilty, as if he had feelings for his own sister. Of course, even though Violet was indeed his sister, avoiding that name helped him lessen the awkwardness and guilt.
Hannah ignored him, still staring out the window. The plane was slowly taking off. The buildings outside grew smaller and smaller, eventually becoming the size of ants before disappearing completely.
Seeing that she was ignoring him, Austin's tone became humble. "Hannah, Mom told me everything about what you went through with the White Family! I'm sorry, I didn't know Lisa was like that. When I left you with her, I repeatedly told her to take good care of you. I never imagined she would be so two-faced. I should have checked on you regularly. I'm sorry, it was my negligence."
Hearing his words, Hannah, who had been ignoring him, suddenly turned her head in anger, her face cold and distant.
She snapped, "Your biggest mistake wasn't not checking on me; it was erasing my memory, giving me a new identity, and dumping me with the White Family. You knew how heartbroken Mom and Dad were when I disappeared. You knew how sad I would be leaving home. But you still did it! Even though Mom and Dad cried every day after I disappeared, even though you left me with a family that might not treat me well, you still did it. Because you're selfish. From start to finish, you're a selfish person. You only care about yourself. For your own desires, you hurt everyone around you. Austin, since you made the mistake and never repented, don't say sorry. It's too hypocritical, it makes me sick."
Her words were like a sharp knife, stabbing into Austin's heart. He looked at Hannah, heartbroken and in disbelief. "You, you really hate me that much?"
Hannah sneered, "No, I don't hate you."
Hearing this, Austin's lips curved into a slight smile, but before he could feel relieved, he was plunged back into despair.
"You don't even deserve my hatred. I just dislike you, very, very much! Hate comes from love. I don't even have sibling love for you anymore, so where would the hate come from?"
Austin's face turned pale. His tall frame swayed, his vision darkened, and he almost fainted.
After all his efforts, all he got was that he didn't even deserve her hatred. He didn't even deserve Hannah's hatred.
Seeing his expression, Hannah felt no sadness, only immense satisfaction. She continued, "I thought that if I brought you to justice, our grievances would be settled! But you shouldn't have touched Oliver. From the beginning, he was innocent. He had nothing to do with our issues. You had him kidnapped and beaten. Do you know? Every blow he took felt like it was hitting me. During the years I was tormented by Lisa, he was the only one who was kind to me, who gave me warmth. I just want to repay him with what I can. I just want him to be an ordinary high school student. Why can't you even grant such a small wish? Do you know? He has his final exams next month. Do you know what those exams mean to him? He's been studying for years, waiting for this day! But you ruined it. If his experience affects his exams next month, Austin, I will never forgive you."
She said this with a purpose. She hoped Austin still had a shred of conscience and would keep his promise to release Oliver once they landed.
Sure enough, after hearing her words, Austin immediately said anxiously, "I swear, as soon as we reach a safe place, I'll have Oliver released immediately, without a scratch."
Hannah looked at Austin expressionlessly. "I hope you keep your word. Otherwise, if anything happens to Oliver, I will kill you myself."
Seeing her tone finally soften, Austin felt a glimmer of hope and nodded eagerly to please her, "I won't. I'll definitely release him, without any harm."
Hannah gave him a cold look, then turned back to the window.
By now, the plane was flying above the clouds. Golden sunlight streamed through the window, making her eyes water.
Hannah closed her eyes, not wanting to deal with Austin anymore.
Seeing she didn't want to talk, Austin didn't bother her further.
Several hours later, the plane landed at the airport in Country E.
Hannah thought that once they reached their destination, Austin would immediately release Oliver. But as soon as they arrived, a stranger handed Austin a phone.
As soon as Austin took the phone, it rang. He answered and put it to his ear, "Hello!"
The person on the other end sounded excited, "Finally, I hear your voice again! It's so good! Are you okay? Did they do anything to you?"
Austin didn't expect her to care about him and raised an eyebrow, "I'm fine!"
Compared to physical harm, his emotional pain was worse.
The woman on the other end said, "Give the phone to Violet."
Austin frowned and warned, "Watch your tone and attitude when you talk to her."
The other person mocked, "At this point, they want to kill you. I'm the only one who truly cares about you, and you're still worried about her feelings?"
Austin said impatiently, "I love her, so of course, I care about her feelings."
The woman on the other end said irritably, "Fine, fine, I get it. I'll be careful, okay?"
Hearing her promise, Austin handed the phone to Hannah. Hannah had already guessed who was calling. She took the phone eagerly, "I've followed your instructions and arrived in Country E. Now release Oliver."
