Chapter 1110 Conclusive Evidence, Interrogating Austin

Charles and Lassie had been keeping vigil outside the ICU for two days and nights. Hannah showed no signs of waking up.

Although others came to take shifts, the two refused to leave, stubbornly waiting for Hannah to wake up.

Fortunately, the past few days had been uneventful. Although Hannah hadn't woken up, there were no complications.

The doctor said that if there were no complications after another day of observation, she could be moved to a regular ward.

On the third day, Martin arrived. Charles had just come out from visiting inside and was about to let Lassie go in.

Seeing Martin come in, Charles knew what had happened.

Sure enough. After taking Lassie inside, Martin said in a deep voice, "We've caught Tina and found evidence of her collusion with Austin!"

Charles, unhurried, took off his coat and asked, "What about Austin?"

Martin replied, "I've already sent people to Rose Garden Manor to find him! Ever since Hannah's accident, he hasn't returned to Country D and has stayed here!"

Charles's thin lips curved into a smile. "The show is about to begin! Let's go. When Hannah wakes up, I want to give her a big gift."

Martin and Charles drove to Rose Garden Manor. They happened to block Austin, who was about to leave, at the door.

Seeing the two of them appear together, Austin had a bad premonition and instinctively took a step back. "What are you doing here?"

Charles didn't answer his question directly but said, "We're taking you to see someone!"

Austin asked warily, "Who?"

Charles smirked, "You'll know when you get there!"

Austin took out his car keys, intending to drive himself, but Charles stopped him, "Ride with us! No need to take so many cars."

Austin paused, gave Charles a suspicious look, but to avoid arousing Charles's suspicion, he opened the back door and got in.

Charles drove. Martin also opened the back door and sat next to Austin.

Austin felt uneasy. The car moved slowly down the road. The cramped car interior was very quiet. None of the three spoke.

The air was thick with tension, as if something was about to erupt. Austin's unease grew, and his palms began to sweat. He moved his fingers, took out his phone, and pretended to play with it to ease his nerves.

An hour later, the black Maybach stopped at an old warehouse in the suburbs.

Austin stepped on a dead branch, hearing it snap underfoot, and frowned. "Why did you bring me here? This warehouse has been abandoned for a long time, hasn't it?"

Charles didn't answer, leading him straight into the warehouse.

The warehouse was cluttered with miscellaneous items. A thick layer of dust covered the floor and the items, and as the door opened, dust flew up, making Austin cover his mouth uncomfortably.

About 15 feet from the entrance, a dim light hung from the ceiling. Under the light was a chair, and on the chair was a person tied up.

When Austin saw who it was, his face changed instantly. "Tina?"

Why was Tina here? Hadn't she escaped? How had she been caught and ended up in Charles's hands? Why had Charles brought him here after catching her? Could it be that Charles knew something?

At this moment, Tina sat in the chair, her arms and legs bound to the chair and its legs, unable to move, with a wad of paper stuffed in her mouth, preventing her from speaking or moving.

Unlike her usual calm demeanor, she was very agitated upon seeing Austin, tears welling up in her eyes. She seemed to want to speak to Austin. But her words came out as muffled sounds.

Even though she didn't say a word, Austin understood. She was telling him to run. She was using her eyes to tell him that it was dangerous here. He couldn't stay.

Even in her current state, she was still thinking about his safety. This made Austin's usually cold heart feel a twinge of guilt and pain. He owed Tina too much, so much that he feared he could never repay it in this lifetime.

Seeing their silent exchange, Charles sneered, "So you still remember her?"

Austin forced himself to stay calm. "We've met twice, how could I forget?"

Charles raised an eyebrow. "Only twice?"

Austin feigned annoyance. "What do you mean by that?"

Charles took a pair of gloves from a bodyguard, then walked over to Tina and took out the phone she used to contact Austin from her pocket.

As he took the phone, Tina became very agitated, writhing in her bonds, clearly resisting his actions.

Unfortunately, she was tied up and couldn't move. No matter how much she resisted, she could only watch as Charles took out the phone.

The phone was password-protected. Charles easily cracked the password. He opened the text messages. But the messages had been completely deleted.

Austin walked over and glanced at the phone. Seeing the empty inbox, he secretly breathed a sigh of relief. "There's nothing on her phone. What are you looking for?"

Charles gave him a mocking look. "Don't be in such a hurry! Have you forgotten my major? I'm a computer science major. Even if she deleted all the messages or destroyed the phone, as long as I know her phone number, I can recover all the messages."

Austin's face changed dramatically. He had always known Charles was a computer science major. Charles had even started his business based on that. But he didn't know Charles had such skills.

Charles's slender fingers moved skillfully on the phone. As he operated, he said, "Others might need a day or two to recover the messages, but for me, it only takes a few minutes!"

Hearing this, Tina struggled even more. She made sounds of protest through the wad of paper in her mouth.

Charles didn't even look at her. In no time, all the deleted messages on Tina's phone appeared in the inbox.

[It's Tina!] This was the first message Tina sent to Austin after getting the phone.

Seeing that Charles had actually recovered the messages, Austin felt as if he were plunged into an icy abyss, chilled to the bone.

Charles gave Austin a meaningful look and continued scrolling.

Tina: [Charles released me from custody and put me under house arrest in an apartment downtown, with a caregiver to take care of me and two bodyguards at the door.]

Tina: [I hypnotized the caregiver to get me a phone and an anonymous SIM card.]

Tina: [Charles installed a lot of surveillance in the house, but not in my bedroom or bathroom! I'm alone in my room right now.]

Tina: [Forcibly erasing her memory would indeed cause her significant harm! But at the time, it was the only way! If I didn't erase her memory, she would expose you. If she didn't rely solely on me, I would lose a valuable weapon.]

......

Austin: [I'll take care of everything. Stay abroad for now and don't come back for a while! I've arranged your accommodation and all your living expenses.]

Tina: [Will we have a chance to meet again?]

Tina: [I'm just asking casually! Given our situation, it's normal if we can't meet again in the future!]

Austin: [When things settle down, I'll come to see you!]

These were all the messages from their initial contact to the last one.

Charles still held the phone, tilting his head, looking expressionlessly at Austin, as if asking, "Do you have anything to say?"
