Chapter 869 Hannah and Austin Completely Break Up

Seeing her admit it, Austin's eyes went bloodshot. He grabbed her arms and shook her like a rag doll.

Austin yelled, "Why? Just tell me why! Why him and not me? What’s Charles got that I don’t? Spill it!"

Why?

Why did he lose to Charles again?

He went through hell and back to bring Violet here, gave her a whole new life.

Getting her to agree to an engagement was tough enough.

He thought he finally had her.

But then Charles showed up, and everything went to crap.

In less than a month, Charles snatched Violet away again.

He just didn’t get it.

What kind of spell did Charles cast that made Violet fall for him over and over? Even with no memories, she still loved him unconditionally.

Hannah felt guilty already, and his words just made it worse.

Hannah said, "No, you’re amazing. You’re awesome. You’re not any less than him! It’s just... I can’t control my feelings! If I could, I wouldn’t let myself fall for Charles."

Whether it was their identities or their statuses, they just weren’t a match.

But she really couldn’t control her heart.

By the time she realized it, she was already head over heels for Charles.

She was torn, not knowing what to do.

But no matter what, she knew she didn’t love Austin.

Since she didn’t love him, she shouldn’t waste his time.

In his desperation, Austin pulled her into his arms, holding her tight.

Austin pleaded, "Hannah, don’t leave me. I really like you. I can’t live without you!" His voice was desperate.

Hannah’s heart ached, her eyes welling up with tears.

Austin, such a proud guy.

Now, he was begging her not to break up.

How could she not feel heartbroken?

But she knew that being soft-hearted would only hurt Austin. Since she made up her mind, she had to be firm and not let her emotions ruin everything.

Hannah buried her face in Austin’s shoulder, sobbing, "Austin, I’m sorry. I know I let you down. It’s my fault."

At that moment, she didn’t know what else to say.

Even her apology wasn’t enough to express her regret.

Austin’s eyes turned red, and he started to cry, "Hannah, you can’t be with Charles. He loves another woman! I don’t care that you love him. I’ll treat you right! I’m begging you, don’t leave me. You know, I liked you from the first time I saw you, and I’ve liked you ever since. My feelings for you have never changed! Hannah, I really love you. Don’t leave me."

By the end, he was just muttering to himself.

Hannah felt even worse hearing this, her tears falling even harder.

Hannah said, "I’m not worth your love. You should find a girl who truly loves you. You deserve better."

She wasn’t worth Austin’s love.

Austin said excitedly, "No, only you. Besides you, I don’t want anyone else. You don’t get it. You’re the first girl I’ve truly liked. I’ve liked you for so long."

Austin loved her for so long that even he was surprised. Faced with his repeated confessions, Hannah couldn’t help but cry out loud.

Hannah cried, "I’m not worthy, Austin. Go find someone else. I’m not good enough for you."

After saying that, Hannah mustered up the courage, using all her strength to push him away, lowered her head, and bolted out of the room like she was escaping.

Austin’s arms were empty, and his heart felt just as empty. He stood there, stunned, biting his lip, his eyes wet, and his hands slowly clenched into fists.

Charles. Why? Why did he always have to swoop in and steal his girl? Why did he have to snatch Violet away time and time again? Why?

That chick was right. As long as Charles was around, he’d always be second best. Even if Violet had no memory of him, she’d still fall for him like clockwork.

No way. He couldn’t let Charles take Violet away again.

If Charles was out of the picture, Violet would forget him and be with him.

Yeah! Charles had to go. He couldn’t let him live. He couldn’t stay in his shadow forever.

Austin’s fists clenched tighter, veins popping out from the sheer rage.

After leaving the restaurant, Hannah couldn’t stop the tears.

She flagged down a cab and cried the whole way back.

Stella had been waiting at her place for the news.

Seeing her come back in tears, she thought something terrible had happened and rushed over, "How’d it go? Did Austin agree? Did you manage to break up?"

Hannah hugged her tight, sobbing, "Stella, I feel so awful! He held me so tight, begging me not to break up. He said he really liked me, really loved me! But I still broke up with him! Stella, am I too cruel? Am I too heartless? I feel so bad thinking about how he looked."

Hearing she finally broke up, Stella let out a sigh of relief, a smile creeping onto her face.

Stella asked, "Do you feel heartbroken?"

Hannah asked, "What do you mean?"

Stella let go of her, looking serious, pointing to her chest, "Does it hurt here?"

Hannah was confused for a sec, then got it, thought about it, and shook her head.

Hannah said, "I’m really sad, really upset, really guilty, feeling sorry for him! He was so good to me, but I still broke up with him."

She paused, then added, "But it doesn’t hurt here!"

Instead, she felt a sense of relief.

Stella smiled again, "Then it’s okay! You’re crying now because you feel sorry for his feelings! But dragging it out would hurt him more. Better to be sad for a bit now than for both of you to be miserable forever!"

Hannah nodded, stopping her tears.

Stella cupped her face, wiping away her tears, "Don’t be sad. Think about it, you’re doing this for his good. You’ll feel better."

Hannah lowered her head and said softly, "Actually, it’s not entirely for him! I hope he finds someone who truly loves him, but I also don’t want to force myself to be with someone I don’t like. It’s not good for either of us."

Stella laughed, "That’s the right way to think! People who only think about others are too fake. I hate those kinds of people the most! You’re being real! Now, go wash your face and put some cold water on your eyes! They just stopped swelling this morning, and now they’re puffy again! I’ll take you out to chill this afternoon!"

Hannah really didn’t want to stay in that room any longer.

When she calmed down, she couldn’t help but overthink.

She really needed to get out and clear her head.

After Hannah went to the bathroom, Stella immediately grabbed her phone and shot a message to Charles.

Stella: [Charles, get back here quick. Hannah broke up with Austin and is super sad right now! Come back and comfort her, then make your move. You’ll totally win her over.]

She had been waiting for this day forever.

Finally, it had come.

When Hannah was down, Charles would be there to comfort her, console her, and then they’d naturally end up together.

She felt great just thinking about it.

That’s how it always went down in TV shows.
