Chapter 1104 Hannah Was Actually Violet
Seeing that she spoke so convincingly, without any hint of falsehood, Stella temporarily believed her.
However, Lassie was not fooled by them. Thinking that Hannah was her biological daughter and that the imposter Violet had almost killed Hannah several times, she was furious.
She didn't know where she got the strength, but she broke free from Patricia's hand, walked up to Lisa, and slapped her hard across the face.
"You're lying! After Violet disappeared, the whole city was looking for her, with missing person posters everywhere. How could you not have seen them? I think you deliberately hid my daughter."
"I heard from Charles long ago that since she started middle school, she had endless chores and jobs. Raising children is the parents' responsibility, but she took on your responsibilities at such a young age."
"From beginning to end, you never treated her as a daughter. You treated her as a servant, free labor. You were like blood-sucking parasites, clinging to her and draining her dry, trying to squeeze every last bit of value out of her! You don't deserve to be parents, you don't deserve to be human."
Thinking about all the suffering Hannah had endured over the past seven years, Lassie felt an unbearable pain. Why did Hannah have to endure so much hardship? She was so kind-hearted, so well-behaved and sensible.
Lisa's face swelled up from the slap, but she didn't dare to get angry or even retort. Her body trembled with fear.
Quentin hung his head in shame and said, "Yes, we wronged Hannah. We didn't fulfill our responsibilities as parents. Now that you've found her, it's good! She can finally be herself."
Compared to Lisa, he still had a tiny bit of conscience, though it was negligible.
Lassie's face twisted in rage, nearly screaming, "What good is that? I want a happy, healthy daughter, not one lying in the emergency room fighting for her life. If you had told us the truth earlier, my daughter wouldn't be in this state. I'm telling you, if anything happens to my daughter, I'll make sure you pay with your lives."
Hearing her words, Lisa and Quentin both shuddered.
Lassie wouldn't let them off, gritting her teeth, "Answer me, there were missing person posters everywhere back then. I don't believe you didn't see them! Did you deliberately hide my daughter so we couldn't find her?"
Lisa shook her head frantically. "No! When we found her, we didn't see any missing person posters!"
This was actually the truth. If they had seen them and known Hannah's identity, how could they have dared to keep her? They would have sent her back to claim the reward.
Patricia mentally checked the timeline, pulled Lassie aside, and whispered in her ear, "She might be telling the truth! We were afraid of affecting Charles' studies back then, so we didn't make a big fuss about it. It was only after more than two months, when Charles found out, that we started a large-scale search. They must have left before we started the large-scale search."
Lassie's mind was unusually clear. "Even though we didn't make a big fuss, we had people stationed at all the exits, and we made it clear that if anyone saw Violet, they should stop her immediately. They must have taken a plane to leave the country. Why didn't the airport report anything? This is clearly suspicious."
Lisa was stunned, her face contorting. "We don't know either! We just left so easily back then."
Lisa thought Austin must have done something behind the scenes. Otherwise, they couldn't have boarded the plane so smoothly. But she couldn't say that! If she did, her whole family would be doomed.
If she didn't say it, Lassie and the others would have to assume it was a mistake at the airport. Lassie was relentless, thinking about Hannah lying in the emergency room, she wanted to kill Lisa and Quentin.
Charles silently watched everything. When the truth finally came out, he suddenly smiled, then laughed and cried. It turned out he had always loved the same person.
Violet and Hannah were the same person. He finally understood why he felt a special connection the first time he saw Hannah. It was fate.
At this moment, Stella asked another crucial question, "If Hannah is the real Violet, then who is the Violet that the Moore family found?"
Everyone was stunned by this question.
Patricia looked at Lassie and asked, "Didn't you do a DNA test when you brought her back?"
Lassie was also confused. "Carter personally took her for the test! If she didn't look like Violet and the DNA test didn't confirm it, how could we have recognized her so rashly?"
Over the years, they had found many girls who looked like Violet. No matter how much they resembled her, they always did a DNA test. They were afraid of making a mistake and leaving the real Violet out there.
Martin, who had been mostly silent, finally spoke. "It seems this matter is more complicated than we thought."
After speaking, he gave Charles a meaningful look. Sensing something, Charles looked back at him.
A name simultaneously appeared in both their minds. All the evidence seemed to point to that person.
While everyone was puzzled, Alan arrived with the Langley Group staff. He quickly arranged for everyone to have their blood tested and drawn.
Watching bag after bag of plasma being sent into the emergency room, everyone was still uneasy.
They had the blood, but whether Hannah could be saved was still unknown. They only hoped Hannah could safely get through the critical period.
In the anxious wait, Alan received a call, his face changed dramatically, and he reported to Charles and Martin in a deep voice, "The bodyguards just reported that Tina has escaped."
Alan handled almost everything at Sunset Bay. No matter what it was, he was the direct contact.
Hearing Alan's words, Stella instantly became furious again. "Escaped? How could she escape? And on a day like today! The fake Violet must be connected to her. We must catch her, we can't be soft-hearted anymore. We must interrogate her harshly and make her tell the truth. That damn woman! She caused so much harm to Hannah. I really want to kill her myself."
Quentin and Lisa exchanged a bitter glance. They knew all their wealth and glory had come to an end. Forget wealth and glory, they should thank God if the Moore family didn't hold them accountable.
Hearing that Tina had escaped, Charles and Martin didn't show much anger. Martin just said calmly, "Chase her! Lock down all exits! She just escaped, she shouldn't have gone far."
"Yes! I'll send people to find her now."
Not long after Alan left, the emergency room doors finally opened. This time, it wasn't a nurse who came out, but a doctor, his face covered in sweat. After removing his mask, he looked exhausted.
Everyone immediately rushed up and surrounded the doctor.
"Doctor, how is Hannah? No matter what, you must save her."
"Doctor, how is she? My daughter should be fine, right?"
"Doctor, how is Hannah? Has she passed the critical stage?"
