Chapter 1025 No News at All

Charles wasted no time, took out his phone, and called Wyatt.

There was a twelve-hour time difference between Country D and Country Z.

It was just after 3 PM in Country D.

Wyatt quickly answered the call.

"Mr. Watson!"

Charles got straight to the point. "Keep an eye on Austin for me during this period. If he does anything unusual, let me know immediately."

Wyatt didn't ask for a reason and readily agreed.

"Okay, I'll send someone right away."

Charles, still uneasy, reminded him, "Austin is very smart and cunning. The person you send to watch him must be extremely careful not to be discovered."

He didn't know much about Austin before.

But if Austin really planned the whole thing, it would prove that he had misjudged him all along.

Austin was far more cunning than he had imagined.

Such a person should not be underestimated and must be handled with extreme caution.

"I understand. Our trained personnel are always very careful. So far, none have been discovered! However, I'll assign the most cautious person to monitor him," Wyatt replied.

"Good! Report to me immediately if anything happens," Charles added. "Any time, day or night."

"Got it!"

After ending the call, Charles stared blankly at the code on his computer screen, a voice in his head constantly calling out, 'Hannah, where are you?'

Hannah seemed to hear his call, suddenly opened her eyes, and shouted, "Charles."

Tina Morris gently brushed Hannah's sweat-drenched, sticky hair off her face and said softly, "Did you have a nightmare?"

Hannah held her head in her hands, distraught, "I... I think I heard someone calling me! My heart hurt so much just now, like it was being squeezed, and I couldn't breathe."

Tina patted her head reassuringly. "You had a nightmare! Try to rest a bit more; we still have a long way to go."

Hannah glanced out the car window; it was pitch black outside, and she couldn't see anything.

"Where are we now?"

Tina replied, "We just left Seaside City! We should reach the dock by tomorrow night, and then we'll take a boat."

Hannah grabbed Tina's hand, her eyes filled with helplessness, "Tina, why did I have such a nightmare? Who was calling me in the dream? Why did my heart hurt so much?"

Tina patiently comforted her, "Maybe it's the exhaustion from the journey causing the nightmare! It's okay, sweetie, sleep a bit more, and you won't feel the pain."

"But..."

Hannah wanted to say more, but suddenly a sound reached her ears.

The sound was small and dense.

Instantly, her drowsiness returned, and she yawned, uncontrollably falling back asleep.

"Hannah, just keep sleeping! When you wake up, everything will be over, and you can start anew," Tina's voice seemed to carry a magical power.

Hannah's thoughts unconsciously followed her words.

Before long, she leaned back in her seat and drifted off into a deep sleep again.

Watching her sleeping face, Tina couldn't help but trace Hannah's features with her hand.

'Hannah, you're so plain. Why is he so obsessed with you? For you, he is willing to sacrifice everything. When will you see how much he cares and truly fall in love with him?' she thought.

The silver van drove discreetly down the road, kicking up clouds of dust.

To collaborate with Charles, Martin deliberately sent people all over to look for Hannah, even asking Carter and Ryan to help with the search.

The commotion was quite noticeable.

Violet watched them bustling around, and seeing that they didn't suspect her, she felt much more at ease and let her guard down a little.

On the other side, Wyatt followed Charles's instructions and had people monitor Austin's every move, reporting to Charles regularly.

"Austin hasn't done anything out of the ordinary lately. He goes from the dorm to the lab every day. Occasionally, he attends academic seminars with his professor."

Charles asked, "What about his roommates?"

Could he have guessed wrong?

Was the information traced to Country D just a coincidence?

Was Austin not involved in this?

Wyatt replied, "I've had people watching them too, and everything is normal! Each of them is busy with their own studies. Their interactions are typical, and nothing suspicious has been found.

We've also been monitoring Austin's phone. He has very few friends and only contacts the Moore family and his professor. His life is very monotonous."

Frankly, it was quite boring.

How he managed to sustain such a life was beyond comprehension.

Charles's temples throbbed as he tiredly rubbed his brow.

"Keep watching."

Austin was so cunning; perhaps he was too afraid of being discovered to act rashly during this period.

If Hannah was really in Austin's hands, he didn't believe Austin would remain inactive forever.

But he was disappointed.

For a whole month, Austin practically lived in the lab. He spent his days writing papers or conducting experiments and only occasionally stepped out for academic seminars.

He even ate, drank, and slept in the lab, only going home to shower every few days. The rest of the time, he was completely immersed in his work.

He seemed uninterested in anything other than experiments, fully immersing himself in academia.

Wyatt's surveillance turned up nothing.

Charles even implanted a virus into Austin's phone in an attempt to track his activities, but that, too, yielded no results.

Wyatt speculated, "Mr. Watson, could we have made a mistake? Should we continue monitoring him or withdraw our people?"

Charles was unwilling to give up.

For some reason, he had a strong feeling that this matter was somehow related to Austin.

"Keep monitoring for a while longer!"

"Yes!"

Wyatt followed Charles's orders and continued to have people monitor Austin.

The result was the same as before.

Austin had no social life, no hobbies, not even entertainment, just experiments.

During this time, he and his professor went abroad for several academic seminars, but there was still no suspicious activity.

Moreover, his professor valued him highly, entrusting him with important projects.

Hannah, like Violet seven years ago, seemed to have vanished from the world.

Violet also stopped contacting the mysterious person.

Austin spent all his time in the lab, with no suspicious activity.

Charles went from being confident to doubting himself.

Hannah was a living, breathing person; how could there be no trace of her at all?

She hadn't even logged into any social media; otherwise, his software would have quickly identified it and sent the information to him.

Charles became increasingly anxious and despondent.
