Chapter 1002 Meeting the Parents

Hannah looked at the gentle Lassie in front of her.

Despite being over forty, Lassie was still well-maintained, exuding an elegant aura. Time had not taken anything away from Lassie.

Lassie's eyes were very gentle, quietly gazing at Hannah, making Hannah feel inexplicably secure and comfortable, surrounded by an unprecedented sense of closeness.

Hannah said, "I also feel that you have a very kind and familiar feeling."

This feeling was something Hannah had never experienced with her biological mother.

Lassie gently patted the back of her hand. "You are such a good child. If only you were my daughter! Or if Violet could be as open-minded, understanding, and obedient as you."

Mentioning Violet, Lassie's eyes darkened.

She and Carter had lived an upright life, never expecting to have such a vicious daughter like Violet.

Although Carter felt the same, he thought it was inappropriate to say such things in this situation. He walked over, placed his hand on her shoulder, and smiled at Hannah. "Hannah, don't mind her. Lassie says these things because she likes you, and she might have embarrassed you."

Hannah replied, "It's okay. I like her too!"

Deep down, she even shared the same thought as Lassie.

Hannah thought, Why isn't Lassie my biological mother? From childhood to adulthood, I have never felt what motherly love is. Lisa only cares about her son.'

To avoid disturbing Hannah's rest, Lassie, Carter, and Austin didn't stay long. After chatting for a while, they left.

Austin didn't speak the entire time, just quietly staring at Hannah.

He didn't bring up the visit to the psychiatric hospital to see Violet, and Charles pretended not to know, not mentioning it either.

Shirley wanted to stay and accompany Hannah, but Lassie took her back, saying Hannah needed to rest.

Shortly after they left, Stella arrived.

She stayed with Hannah all day, even insisting on staying overnight, but was eventually driven away by Charles.

After sending Stella off, Charles climbed onto the bed, hugged Hannah's waist, and lay on her lap.

Hannah affectionately played with his hair. "What's wrong? You're acting like a child."

Charles hesitated for a moment before speaking, "Hannah, Christmas is coming up. I want to take you to Sunset Bay for Christmas."

If Hannah agreed, it meant she was willing to officially meet his parents.

He could then take the opportunity to propose to her.

He thought he would have to persuade her or be directly rejected by Hannah.

Unexpectedly, Hannah agreed readily, "Sure!"

Charles was stunned, looking up at her in disbelief. "You agreed just like that?"

Hannah laughed. "We've been together for so long, and you've already met my parents. But I haven't officially met your parents! It's about time I paid them a visit!"

Charles raised his head happily. "Then I'll start preparing right away! I'll schedule a doctor's appointment, and tomorrow we'll go to the hospital for a full check-up. If everything's fine, we'll head to Sunset Bay in the afternoon."

Seeing him so happy like a child, Hannah couldn't help but laugh along.

She nodded gently. "Okay! Go ahead and schedule the check-up and book the tickets!"

Charles kissed her forehead lightly, beaming with joy. "You rest for a while, and I'll go to the study!"

"Okay!" Hannah replied with a smile.

Charles got up and left.

He didn't tell anyone about going to Sunset Bay; he wanted to surprise his parents.

The next day.

Charles personally drove Hannah to the hospital for a check-up. After confirming she was fit to fly, they had lunch nearby and then drove straight to the airport.

Charles didn't book plane tickets; they took a private jet to Sunset Bay.

It took twelve hours to fly from Country D to Sunset Bay in Country Z.

Their flight was at 2 PM, and they arrived in Sunset Bay at 2 AM.

Charles initially planned to take Hannah home directly, but Hannah thought it was too abrupt. Charles couldn't argue with her, so they chose a hotel near Sunshine Manor to stay for the night.

After a long journey, Hannah was exhausted. She took a shower and fell asleep immediately.

The next day, at 10 AM.

Hannah, carrying gifts she personally selected from the supermarket, walked hand in hand with Charles back home.

They arrived at Sunshine Manor around noon.

The Langley family was having lunch together.

Gregory and Jessica had passed away years ago, and Samuel had severed ties with Martin, cutting off all contact. Everyone, busy with work and studies, had returned home for the holidays, filling the long rectangular dining table.

Martin sat at the head of the table, Patricia to his left, followed by Fannie and Maria.

Randy sat to his right, followed by Fannie's husband Elijah and Martin's youngest son Declan.

Just as they started eating, they saw Charles walking in with Hannah, followed by the butler, who was covering his mouth, trying not to laugh.

Everyone was stunned, their mouths agape, unable to react for a moment.

Patricia and Fannie seemed to have a telepathic connection, dropping their utensils on the table simultaneously.

While they were still in shock, Hannah smiled and greeted them, "Uncle Martin, Aunt Patricia, hello! I'm Hannah White, Charles's girlfriend."

Then she smiled at Fannie and the others. "Hello, I'm your brother's girlfriend. Nice to meet you all."

Although Hannah had met Randy and Charles's parents before, it wasn't official.

Today, she was meeting them for the first time as Charles's girlfriend.

Patricia was the first to react. She screamed excitedly, rushing to Hannah, ready to hug her, but stopped abruptly upon seeing her injuries.

Patricia asked, "Hannah, what happened to your face? And your neck? Why are you covered in injuries?"

Earlier, she was too excited to notice from a distance.

Now, up close, she saw that Hannah was covered in wounds.

Hearing her words, everyone put down their utensils and gathered around.

Fannie was the fastest, turning Hannah around to inspect her. "Yeah! What happened to you? How did you get so badly hurt? Who bullied you? Do they have a death wish? How dare they bully someone from our family! Charles, you're useless. You can't even protect your own woman!"

Randy, who had been in contact with Stella, pulled her behind him upon hearing this. "You're too talkative!"

Fannie pouted, "Am I wrong? Letting his woman get hurt like this. Charles is useless."

Charles said, "It was Violet!"

As soon as he said this, the room fell silent.

Everyone looked at each other, unable to believe Charles's words.

Charles didn't intend to hide anything. After all, they would find out eventually, so he recounted the whole story.
