Chapter 602 The Truth of Paternity Test Revealed

Martha watched in helpless despair as her beloved son was struck, yet she dared not intervene with Martin. Her only recourse was to weep and seek solace in Samuel's arms. "Look at your son," she implored Samuel, her voice choked with emotion. "He stood by, indifferent, as this child struck me. He even raised his hand against Ian. We were trying to help him, yet instead of gratitude, he throws accusations at us."Samuel, who had until now maintained a stoic silence, finally voiced his displeasure. "Martin, they were acting in your best interest. This is no way to treat them. You owe them an apology."Martin returned Samuel's admonishment with a look of undisguised scorn, his eyes radiating a silent, burning contempt. He offered no words in response to Samuel. His bond with the man he once acknowledged as his father had been irrevocably severed in his youth. The day Martha's deceit resulted in his abandonment at an orphanage marked the end of their relationship. From that moment, he renounced the title of Samuel's son.
The reason why he didn't publicly sever ties was out of respect for Grandma Shane. However, this did not mean he was under Samuel's control."Bring the person in," Martin commanded, his voice echoing through the room. As his words faded, the conference room door swung open from the outside. Luke Harris entered, cradling a baby boy of less than a year in his arms. Close on his heels, two bodyguards ushered in the appraiser and Dr. Hayes, who had previously departed.Martin gently stroked Declan's tiny head, his voice filled with pride. "This is my son, Declan! Do you now understand why Dorian didn't bring him for the paternity test?"All eyes turned to Declan's face. In that moment, there was nothing else to comprehend. While Declan didn't bear as strong a resemblance to Mr. Langley's other two sons, certain features echoed those of Sullivan. Yet, he also shared a striking fifty to sixty percent resemblance with Mr. Langley. Placing their faces side by side, there was no need for a paternity test to know that they were father and son.

The young master, Declan, had a unique face that mirrored Sullivan's when compared. And when juxtaposed with Mr. Langley, he bore an uncanny likeness to him. He was a perfect amalgamation of the two, blending all their attractive features seamlessly.Samuel was taken aback. "What...what... what's going on? He and Maria are biological twins; why isn't Maria your biological child?" Martin chuckled. "Shouldn't you be asking your dear wife that question?"Samuel didn't understand. "What do you mean? What does Martha have to do with this?"Having long since lost faith in his father, Samuel didn't exhibit much sorrow at this revelation. His life had been marred by Samuel's selfishness and incompetence. Samuel was constantly manipulated by Martha."Dr. Hayes was introduced to you by Martha, wasn't he?"With this hint, Samuel finally grasped the situation and stared at Martha in disbelief. "Is all of this your doing?"Martin placed Maria on the conference table and gestured for Luke Harris to do the same with Declan. The two infants quickly became engrossed in their own playful world."You've always known that she was colluding with Dorian, so why act so surprised?" Martin said scornfully.

Martha, terrified of losing her only support in the Langley family, hastily defended herself. "Sir, that's not true. I didn't do anything like that! Martin is framing me."Martin, uninterested in their squabbles, fixed a cold glare on Dr. Hayes. "Speak up! Tell me everything you know, and I might consider sparing you."Dr. Hayes, nearly paralyzed with fear, dared not withhold any information. He quickly confessed, "Yes, Ms. Bai found me and offered me a multimillion-dollar house downtown in exchange for falsifying the paternity test results. She said the testing equipment had already been tampered with, and I just needed to follow the pre-set instructions. The results were manipulated beforehand by the equipment."Martha's face turned ashen. Her body trembled with fear. Despite the mounting evidence against her, she stubbornly maintained her innocence. "I didn't do it. Martin bribed him to frame me. No matter how much I dislike Martin, I would never stoop so low."

Samuel was a man of immense pride. His anger had driven him to challenge Maria and Declan's birth rights today, as he was convinced they were not Martin's children and that Patricia had wronged the Langley family.

If it were to be revealed that this was all a scheme devised by Martha and Dorian to frame Patricia, the Langley name would be tarnished in disgrace. His fury would be inevitable, and he would stand alone, unsupported in the face of Martin's wrath.

Seeing her nonsense, Dr. Hayes grew increasingly anxious. "Martin, how can you say such things? The house has just been transferred to my name. Just go to the property registry and check to see if I have wronged you."Martin, without a word, tossed a document onto the table before Samuel."I've already had it investigated!" he declared.Samuel, in disbelief, picked up the document and began to read. The details were unmistakable. The date of the transfer, the ownership of the property, and the names of both the transferor and transferee were all clearly stated. This was an official document from the property registry. There could be no errors.Had he really been manipulated by Martha? The thought ignited a surge of anger within him. A sudden realization dawned on him, and he turned to Martha, his eyes ablaze. "I remember, five years ago, you bought a 130-square-meter house in the city center. Where is the house?"

Martha was momentarily stunned. "What...what?" she stammered. She had mentioned it to Samuel in passing, without going into detail, as Samuel had only shown a mild interest in her real estate investments. She had numerous properties and businesses to her name, and she hadn't expected him to remember them all. Undeterred, Samuel pressed on. "Dr. Hayes was a referral from you, correct? You claimed he's the best paternity testing doctor at the Sherlock Valley Academy Forensics Center. How else would I have known of him?"As he pieced together the events, everything began to make sense. Dorian and Martha had conspired behind his back to force Patricia out. Unable to do so directly, they had resorted to spreading rumors onlineand bribing the paternity testing doctor to fabricate evidence.
When Patricia was unable to refute the claims, the pair had begun to vie for the presidency. His wife, Martha, had been aware of the evidence of Rex's homosexuality all along, and she had been waiting to use it after Dorian had served his purpose. And he, Samuel, had been nothing more than a pawn in Martha's game. His realization was bitter. He had been deceived by her from the very beginning.Martha was left speechless and unable to formulate a response. In a fit of rage, Samuel flung the documents he held in his hand, his wrath leaving Martha at a loss for words.
