Chapter 1019 Losing Composure
Charles didn't expect Violet to wake up so quickly.
It seemed the dosage given earlier was too small.
A look of unprecedented irritation appeared in Charles' eyes.
Charles said, "Pour another glass of water from the table for her to drink, and tell her I'll be there soon! Have her drink it while she waits for me! Once she falls asleep, make sure she drinks all the water. Let her sleep a bit longer."
Randy remained silent, thinking, 'Charles has always been good to Hannah! What happened today? I'm not stupid and can naturally tell there's something wrong with the water, probably laced with sleeping pills. But why would Charles do this? How could Charles bear to give Hannah sleeping pills?'
Although Randy was very curious, he didn't ask much and just said, "Alright, I understand! Charles, don't worry about this side. I know what to do! You go ahead with your business."
His voice was still very low, afraid that Violet might hear.
Charles said, "Text me once she falls asleep."
"I know!"
After ending the call, Charles immediately contacted Alan and asked him to bring a laptop over.
While methodically instructing Alan on how to find Hannah, he hacked into Violet's phone number, hoping to find some clues from her contacts.
Unfortunately, Violet's recent contacts were all from the Moore family, with no outsiders.
In other words, like her bank account, she didn't use her usual phone number to seek help but used another number.
Charles felt an urge to curse and scratched his scalp forcefully.
Alan also found no clues.
It was still snowing outside today, and everyone was fully geared up with hats and masks, making it impossible to recognize anyone.
There were no clues from the hotel either.
Hannah, like Violet seven years ago, had suddenly disappeared.
Time was ticking away.
Fearing that this matter would cause unnecessary trouble if it got out, Patricia waited until the banquet was over and the guests had left before daring to ask Martin about the progress.
The Langley family members were all smart.
They had sensed something was wrong when the emcee canceled the segment where both sets of parents were supposed to go on stage.
Later, when the main characters of the day, Charles and Hannah, didn't even show up to thank the guests, they were very sure something had happened.
They escorted the guests to the hotel entrance and sent Quentin and the others back to their rooms. Only after confirming everyone had left did they dare to ask Patricia what had happened.
Patricia didn't know the situation and didn't dare to tell them the truth. "I don't know. Wait a bit and let Charles tell you later! It's been a long day. You all should go rest! I'll call you if anything comes up."
Stella puzzledly asked Patricia, "Where's Hannah? I haven't seen her since the engagement ceremony ended."
Patricia urged, "I don't know! She should be with Charles enjoying some alone time! Anyway, the engagement banquet is over. It's getting late, and I'll go back with you!"
Everyone looked at each other.
Fannie said speechlessly, "Mom, I'm naive, not stupid! Do you think I'm still a kid, so easy to fool?"
Patricia impatiently said, "I can't say anything right now! Let's go back first! Charles will tell you himself later! Besides, we're in the hotel now, and it's not convenient to talk! We'll discuss it when we get back."
Everyone thought she made sense and didn't ask further.
Hannah was nowhere to be found.
They had searched everywhere.
All the surveillance footage had been checked, but still no sign.
All the entrances and exits of Sunset Bay had been checked, but there was no news.
As time passed, Charles' barely maintained composure was gradually disappearing. He was becoming more and more anxious, rubbing his face with his hands and pacing back and forth.
Looking at Violet, who had been given a lot of sleeping pills by Randy and brought back to Sunshine Manor but still hadn't woken up, Charles' handsome face gradually became distorted, his eyes bloodshot. He was like a trapped beast on the verge of madness.
Randy was seeing him like this for the first time and was startled. "Charles, what on earth happened? Did Hannah do something to upset you?"
Randy thought, 'Charles' gaze is terrifying. I completely believe that he will really kill Hannah. What did Hannah do? How could she make Charles so angry on such an important day?'
Charles stood beside Violet, taking deep breaths repeatedly, trying hard to control himself, lest he really strangle her.
If he did, he would lose the only clue to finding Hannah.
He sat down on a nearby chair, bent over, resting his elbows on his thighs, and held his face in his hands.
He was thinking, 'Should I directly interrogate Violet, or subtly probe for Hannah's whereabouts? Violet must have contacted her accomplice after kidnapping Hannah, right? Once they contact each other, I can immediately track them down. If I use forceful methods and torture her, and she uses Hannah to threaten me, not only will I fail to rescue Hannah, but I'll also push Violet to the edge, using this leverage to continuously threaten me. I don't mind being threatened. What matters is Hannah. The longer the delay, the more danger Hannah will be in.'
Charles, who had lived for twenty-seven years and had always been decisive in the business world, was at a loss for the first time, unsure of what to do.
Charles and Randy were identical twins after all. Although Randy didn't know exactly what had happened, he could see things more calmly from an outsider's perspective.
He patted Charles on the shoulder and said, "Charles, you've always been the smartest among us! If something really happened, you must stay calm! Only by staying calm can you think of a solution! Anxiety will only push you into a corner."
Hearing his words, Charles was momentarily stunned.
After a brief daze, he came to his senses.
Charles thought, 'Yes! I have to stay calm. Hannah is still waiting for me to rescue her. There's a way! I'll definitely think of a way.'
After figuring it out, Charles stood up, patted Randy on the shoulder, and said, "Randy, I understand! You go out first! I'll call you if I need your help."
Randy nodded and said, "Alright! You and Hannah get some rest."
"Okay!"
Randy left.
Charles walked behind the desk, opened his laptop, and implanted his tracking virus into both Hannah and Violet's phone numbers.
As long as the phone used that SIM card, the virus would infiltrate the phone.
Even if Violet changed the SIM card, as long as she used the same phone, the virus he implanted would successfully track it.
He didn't believe Violet wouldn't contact her accomplice.
As soon as she did, he would immediately track down Hannah's whereabouts.
