Chapter 1119 Fingerprint
The bodyguard had prepared a clean table in advance. The male doctor placed his instrument case on the table, opened it, and got ready.
Once everything was set, he put on clean gloves and took the phone from Charles.
To ensure everyone could see his actions clearly, the bodyguard placed the table in front of Tina and Austin so the doctor could operate in full view of everyone.
The two of them sat in chairs, unable to move, but the table wasn't high, so they could see everything on it.
Charles had the bodyguard add another light bulb above their heads. The warehouse instantly became bright.
The male doctor took out a bottle of solution and sprayed it on both sides of the phone in front of everyone. Soon, dense fingerprints appeared on the phone.
The male doctor showed the phone with the fingerprints to everyone. When the phone reached Austin, his face turned pale. The fingerprints were almost all identical.
Although he had never studied his fingerprints closely, he could tell from the size and shape that they were his. Austin's heart sank instantly. He was finished.
After showing everyone the fingerprints on the phone, the male doctor placed the phone on a clean evidence bag and took out a clean, sterile glass slide to extract Austin's fingerprints.
Austin struggled desperately, clenching his fists tightly, refusing to cooperate.
Charles sneered, "Austin, didn't you say it wasn't you? If it's not you, then cooperate and let us extract your fingerprints! If the fingerprints on the phone aren't yours, I'll let you and Tina go. This matter has nothing to do with you."
Unfortunately, Austin acted as if he hadn't heard him, still clenching his fists tightly.
Charles looked at Lassie. "Aunt Lassie, do you still think he's innocent? He keeps saying I framed him, but now he won't even let us take his fingerprints. If he's not guilty, what is he?"
The little bit of hesitation and hope in Lassie's heart had vanished completely.
What disappointed her more was that Charles had already said so much, and the evidence was right in front of them, yet Austin was still claiming he was framed by Charles.
At this point, he still wouldn't admit his guilt. He was still trying to argue and deny.
Seeing Austin's continued non-cooperation, Charles decided not to waste any more time and directly ordered the bodyguards, "Since he won't willingly give his fingerprints, force his hand open and take them! No matter how strong he is, he can't be stronger than you all."
The bodyguards obeyed and immediately stepped forward, forcibly prying open Austin's fingers.
Austin's body was restrained by the bodyguards. No matter how strong he was, he couldn't resist the combined strength of the bodyguards. Soon, all five fingers of his left hand were spread open.
The male doctor quickly took the fingerprints. Then came a tense waiting period.
No one understood the male doctor's operations; they just stood quietly by, waiting for the results. Time ticked by.
As time passed, Austin's expression became increasingly desperate. He felt as if he were soaking in ice water, chilled to the bone.
Lassie saw his expression and felt her heart sink. Austin truly had a strong psychological defense! He wouldn't admit his actions until all the evidence was laid out in front of him. Until just now, he was still denying it, trying to exonerate himself.
After a few minutes, the male doctor finally looked up from the instrument. The machine beeped for a while, and a report slowly printed out from the side.
The male doctor held the report and said, "Mr. Watson, after examination, there are two sets of fingerprints on the phone. One set is very faint, only a partial print. As for whose fingerprints they are, it's not clear at the moment. But based on my experience, the fingerprints likely belong to the store clerk who sold the phone. Because of the time elapsed, the fingerprints have become faint."
He handed the report to Charles and pointed at Austin. "The other set of fingerprints, after machine comparison, are indeed his."
Charles took the report from the doctor, read it carefully, and asked, "Are there any fingerprints besides these two people's?"
The male doctor solemnly replied, "No! I guarantee it with my honor, there are no others!"
Charles smiled, turned, and handed the report to Lassie.
Lassie looked at the report in her hands, trembling with anger. She threw the report at Austin's face, furious. "What else do you have to say? The doctor said there are only your fingerprints and the store clerk's on this phone."
Austin still wouldn't admit it and was about to argue.
Charles, sensing his intention, spoke first, "Are you going to say that I put those fingerprints on the phone? That they weren't left by you when you used it?"
Austin opened his mouth, but the words got stuck in his throat. He had indeed planned to argue that way.
Lassie was utterly disappointed. "Austin, with all the evidence and witnesses, you still won't admit it? You've really let me down."
Austin pleaded, "Mom, believe me, I really didn't do it!"
He couldn't admit it. If he admitted it, he would lose Hannah forever and lose Lassie's love. He loved Lassie, loved this family, and didn't want to lose the most important people to him.
Charles smirked, "Austin, with all this evidence in front of you, you still want to argue? Then I'll make you completely despair."
Austin's breath caught, and he glared at Charles. Did Charles have another trick up his sleeve?
Sure enough. As soon as the thought crossed his mind, he saw Charles raise his hand and clap twice, not too hard, not too soft.
The warehouse door opened once again. Before Austin could see who it was, he heard two familiar wails from the doorway.
"Why did you bring us here? I'm telling you, my son-in-law is Charles Watson, and Charles's father is Martin Langley. If you dare to harm us, they won't let you off."
"Please let us go, we really don't know anything!"
"Who are you people, and why did you bring us here? Are you planning to kill us to silence us? I'm telling you, if we go missing, my son will call the police!"
Hearing their voices, Austin's brow furrowed.
