Chapter 80 Charles Goes Missing!

The three teachers, seeing that the others had successfully taken Charles away, exchanged a knowing glance before leaving once Jade rejected them again.

Jade straightened her disheveled clothes and sighed.

"These people are so annoying. I've already said 'no' multiple times, yet they keep pushing their sales pitch. It's really frustrating."

Pouting, Fannie said reluctantly, "Jade, I want that Barbie doll."

Jade readily agreed, "Alright, I'll buy it for you. After dinner, I'll take you to the mall to have a look!"

Upon hearing this, Fannie was ecstatic, nearly jumping up and down with joy. As she Jumped, she exclaimed excitedly.

"Jade, I love you so much! You're amazing!"

Jade affectionately rubbed her little head. "Stop flattering me. Let's go buy groceries first. I'll make roasted lamb chops for you guys today!"

"Great!" Fannie said happily.

Thinking about having a Barbie doll soon, Fannie suddenly felt that Jade's cooking wasn't that bad.

Jade held Fannie's hand and instinctively reached out with her other hand to grab Charles but ended up grabbing nothing.

She tried twice from behind, but still couldn't catch anything.

"Charles, hurry up and hold my hand. We need to go home!" Jade said hurriedly.

But still no response came from behind her.

Jade frowned, pretending to be angry as she turned around. However, she found nothing behind her, except for emptiness. Charles was nowhere to be seen.

An ominous feeling surged in her heart.

As she anxiously called out, "Charles... Charles..."

Fannie also noticed that something was wrong and asked in a confused manner, "Jade, where is Charles?"

Jade couldn't spare the time to answer her question. She searched for Charles' small figure in the crowd like a madwoman.

While searching, she loudly called his name.

"Charles... Charles..."

But still, no one responded. The feeling of unease grew larger and larger in her heart.

Jade considered all the possible scenarios, becoming more and more scared. She called Patricia while going to the school to check the surveillance footage.

When Jade called, Patricia was having dinner with Randy.

"Jade, what's wrong?" Patricia asked as she answered the call.

"Patricia, I, I lost Charles!" Jade's voice was trembling as she spoke.

Thinking it was another one of Charles' pranks, Patricia calmly said.

"Don't worry too much. Charles is so clever and sensible; he won't get into trouble! Call him."

"I did, but it's not going through." Jade almost cried.
Patricia furrowed her brows. "How can it not go through? Calm down first, I'll try calling him."

"Okay!" Jade agreed.

After hanging up, Patricia immediately dialed Charles' number.

"Sorry, the number you have dialed is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." Came the automated tone on the other end of the line.

Is his phone really turned off? Charles has always been responsible and never disappears without a reason, causing worry. Patricia thought.

Could it be that something really happened to him? A sense of foreboding rose in Patricia's heart, and she immediately called Jade.

"Jade, what exactly happened? How could Charles disappear without a trace?" Patricia asked in a tone that conveyed her worry.

Jade choked up and explained the situation.

"I told them not to, but those two people kept following me. I couldn't shake them off! Patricia, I'm sorry, I didn't watch over Charles, I'm so useless..." Jade cursed herself.

Patricia trembled with fear, almost dropping her phone, but she forced herself to stay calm.

Patricia was so scared that she could hardly hold her phone, but still forced herself to calm down and said.

"Don't cry yet. I'll be right there. Are you in the school monitoring room now?" Patricia hung up and left.

"Uh-huh! I just got to the monitoring room!"

Patricia: "Okay, I'll be right there, wait for me there!"

After saying that, she put down the dishes in her hand and said to Randy, "Randy, Mommy has something urgent that needs to go out right now, if you have anything to do, call your daddy, I'll come back immediately when I'm done."

When she spoke, her face was white and her lips were shivering.

Randy had never seen her like this before and was busy and nervous, "Mommy, what's wrong? Do you need my help?"

Patricia grabbed her bag from the closet while saying, "Just stay here obediently, mommy can do it alone."

Randy obediently nodded, "Okay, I'll be good and stay home, if Mommy can't handle it, just call me oh! Although I may not be able to help, but my daddy can definitely do it."

"Good!" Patricia replied perfunctorily, put on her bag and hurriedly left.

Just as she reached the elevator, she met Martin coming down from the elevator.

"You ......"

Martin was about to greet, Patricia had already entered the elevator with an anxious look and didn't seem to see him.

"......??"

Patricia rushed to the nursery as fast as she could.

After completing the procedures at the school and the formalities of the police station, the sky had turned completely dark.

Patricia returned home like a walking corpse. Fannie cried until she was exhausted, falling asleep on Jade's shoulder.

Jade carried her back to the room and carefully placed her on the bed. When she came out, she saw Patricia still sitting on the sofa in a daze, and her guilt deepened.

"Patricia, I'm sorry, it's all my fault, I was useless..." Jade cursed herself again.

Patricia mechanically shook her head.

"This has nothing to do with you! Those people came prepared. Even if you knew they were traffickers, you wouldn't have been able to handle them." Patricia comforted her.

The more she said this, the more guilty Jade felt, and the tears she had finally managed to stop began to fall again.

"You tell me, where could they have taken Charles? Why did they take him? Why... if I ever encounter them, I swear I'll make them suffer." Jade said with venomous words.

Images of Charles being mistreated by the traffickers involuntarily crossed Patricia's mind. Her heart ached uncontrollably, and she couldn't sit still.

She grabbed the car keys and rushed to the door.

"No, I have to find Charles. He's waiting for me to save him; I must find him..." Patricia muttered before leaving the house.
