Chapter 1112 An Unacceptable Truth

Lassie sat in the passenger seat while Alan drove.

Once the car was on the highway, Lassie couldn't wait any longer and asked, "Alan, what exactly happened? Is it about Hannah? Or did that fake Violet do something bad before she died?" She was truly driven mad by that fake Violet.

Alan knew he couldn't keep this from Lassie any longer, and Martin and Charles had agreed that there was no need to hide anything. Everything about the Moore family could be told to Lassie.

When they searched Rose Garden Manor later, they would need to give Lassie an explanation.

Austin's actions should have been revealed to Lassie and Carter long ago, so Alan told her everything in detail.

"Hannah disappeared eight years ago and was adopted by Quentin and Lisa. It wasn't as Quentin and Lisa said, that Hannah had amnesia and they took her in. Eight years ago, Hannah was hypnotized, forcibly erased of all her original memories before the age of fourteen, and given all of Hannah's memories."

Upon hearing this, Lassie's face turned pale. "Erased her memories? How could that be? Why would Quentin and Lisa do that? Were they the ones who kidnapped her back then?"

If it was just to extort the Moore family, why hadn't Quentin and Lisa contacted them until now? Moreover, Lisa and Quentin didn't seem like such smart people.

Alan explained, "Hannah has known Mr. Watson for so long, but she never mentioned losing her memory! This proves that even she didn't know she had lost her memory. She was already fourteen at the time; at that age, she couldn't possibly not know if she had amnesia."

"There's only one explanation for all of this! Hannah herself didn't know she had amnesia. She had always identified herself as Hannah. That's why, for so many years, she let Quentin and Lisa take advantage of her without complaint."

"Why would they do that?" Lassie still couldn't understand.

Alan kept his eyes on the road while continuing to drive and explain. "Because Austin wanted to marry Violet, he had to give her an identity! And that identity couldn't be his sister."

During this time, Alan had been investigating. Although he had told Charles and Martin everything he found out, there were always some unimportant details he didn't mention. So, he understood the whole situation far better than anyone else.

Lassie was shocked by this explanation, her eyes widening in disbelief. "What did you say? You mean Austin... Austin has other intentions towards Violet?"

Alan didn't answer but instead asked, "Mrs. Moore, have you forgotten? Before Hannah met Charles, she was engaged to Austin! In such a big world, why did Quentin fall ill and just happen to be saved by Austin?"

"Why did Hannah get engaged to Austin out of gratitude? Why did Hannah look so much like the real Violet, yet Austin never mentioned it? He was engaged to Hannah for so long, why did he never bring Hannah to meet you? Haven't you ever thought about all these things?"

Alan knew he had said a lot today. But the situation was too complicated. If he didn't explain it in detail, Lassie might not understand or accept it.

Anyone would find it hard to accept that the person who caused them to be separated from their biological daughter for eight years was their adopted son!

Lassie was stunned, staring blankly at Alan. He said that Violet had been missing for so long because Austin had hidden her. Did she hear that right?

Because Austin liked Violet, but their identities couldn't allow them to be together, he erased Violet's memories eight years ago and gave her the identity of Hannah, so he could be with Violet openly. Was that what he meant?

"Austin likes Violet? Why did I never know?" She hadn't seen any signs of it. She had always thought they had a good sibling relationship and never considered it as romantic love.

"He hid it very well; otherwise, we wouldn't have only found out today after all these years!"

Lassie was stunned on the spot, not knowing how to react.

Alan knew she must be deeply shocked, which was normal. He didn't show much surprise and continued calmly, "This time, Hannah was swapped by the fake Violet and lost her memory. Although it was Tina's doing, Austin was the mastermind."

"He was recreating what happened eight years ago, once again taking Hannah away from Charles. We now have all the evidence of what he did!"

Lassie understood everything now. With everything laid out, she naturally knew it all. "So, you're going to the Moore family's villa to find evidence?"

Alan nodded. "Yes! That's the phone he used to contact Tina. Charles pretended to have Tina hypnotize the caregiver and bought her a phone, but it actually had a virus implanted in it."

"Charles found out that the phone is now in Rose Garden Manor! So, I'm taking you with me to search! The others are already waiting outside Rose Garden Manor!"

Suddenly learning so much was overwhelming. Lassie felt shocked and couldn't accept it all at once. She leaned back in her seat, full of disappointment.

"I raised Austin for twenty years, always treating him as my own son! Carter and I even decided to let him inherit the company in the future." She never expected they had raised an ungrateful person.

Alan was silent for a moment, then suddenly spoke again, "And the car accident last year that almost left Charles in a vegetative state!"

Lassie jumped up, her voice becoming sharp from the shock. "That wasn't Austin too, was it?"

Although she was deeply disappointed in Austin, she hoped Alan would deny it, leaving her with a glimmer of hope, so she wouldn't be completely disillusioned with Austin.

Unfortunately, she was still disappointed.

Alan nodded. "Yes! It was Austin! He not only tampered with Charles's car but also took the opportunity to shift the blame onto someone else. Even after the truth came out, he killed to silence witnesses!"

Lassie was shocked. Alan continued, "When Charles woke up, he immediately found out it was Austin! But because of his guilt over Hannah, he forgave him. Austin promised to repent and never make the same mistake again, so Charles spared him and kept it a secret. Little did he know, Austin would only get worse, making mistake after mistake."
