Chapter 1054 End the Hypnosis
Austin was very flustered. His emotions were complicated. "Did Hannah say anything else?"
Lassie nodded, a bit regretful, and said, "She seems to remember nothing! After leaving the ward, Charles told me she had been hypnotized and forgot everything that happened before! I was the first person she showed affection to!"
As she spoke, she grabbed Austin's arm and said mysteriously, "Do you know who kidnapped Hannah?"
Austin's breath hitched. "Who?"
Lassie lowered her voice and said, "It was Tina, the one who used to do psychological therapy for Violet, Angela! You saw her once in Country D, remember? A pretty young girl. She hypnotized Hannah, making her forget everything."
Austin squinted his eyes. "Did Charles tell you anything else? Like, did he get anything out of Angela? Does she have any accomplices? She couldn't have done all this alone; she must have had help."
Lassie shook her head regretfully and said, "Charles said Angela wouldn't say anything, no matter how much they questioned her! It seems she's prepared to take all the blame. Charles almost strangled her, and she didn't make a sound. She's really tough; not many women have her courage and composure."
Hearing Lassie's words, Austin felt a sudden pain in his heart. He didn't know where this pain came from.
Just the image of Tina now being held in custody, and thinking of Charles strangling her, made his chest ache inexplicably.
She was almost strangled to death by Charles, yet she still didn't give him up. And what about him?
When he found out she was captured, his first thought was fear that she would give him up, not concern for her safety. He was too selfish.
Seeing Austin not speaking, Lassie didn't think much of it. She sighed and said regretfully, "It's such a pity! She's so young and capable, but she chose the wrong path! Why do you think she did it? With her reputation and skills, she could have done anything. Why this? Her life is probably ruined now!"
Austin's heart ached even more, as if an invisible hand was squeezing it, making it hard for him to breathe.
After a while, he finally caught his breath and gritted his teeth. "What about Hannah? Did Hannah say anything?"
Lassie, who had never suspected him, replied without reservation, "She seems to have a good relationship with Angela. Since she woke up, she's been clamoring to see Angela."
Austin asked nervously, "What else?"
Lassie blinked and looked at him, puzzled. "What else?"
Austin deliberately put on a confused expression. "Did Hannah mention anyone else?"
Lassie shook her head. "She seems to only remember Angela."
Hearing this, Austin finally felt relieved. It seemed that Tina knew the jig was up and, in the last moment when Charles rescued Hannah, erased Hannah's memory of him.
So Hannah didn't remember him and didn't clamor to see him when she woke up. Tina was always like this, never needing him to worry, always handling things perfectly.
"Alright, after Dad finishes his IV, let's find some time to go out and buy her a welcome gift!"
"Okay!" Lassie agreed readily, then sat by the bedside, holding Carter's hand. "Honey, wake up soon. I've recognized a daughter for you! It's Hannah! Didn't you like her a lot too? Do you remember you once told me how great it would be if she were Violet, who disappeared seven years ago? Now she's our daughter too; you should be happy!"
Unfortunately, Carter, lying in bed, had no reaction.
Austin stood aside, feeling a mix of emotions after hearing her words. Was this what family bonds were like?
Just like him. Even though he deeply hated his biological mother, even though he had many chances to kill her, he couldn't do it. He'd rather imprison her in a room than kill her.
Alan and Wyatt were very efficient. The next day, they found two of the world's top psychologists, a man and a woman.
They looked about forty, wearing glasses and white coats.
Hannah looked at the two unfamiliar doctors, immediately grabbing the blanket defensively, curling up inside it, only showing her big eyes. "What are you doing? What do you want?"
Charles sat by the bed, holding her hand, and said gently, "Don't be afraid, they are doctors from the hospital, here to give you a consultation!"
Hannah shook her head vigorously. "No, I want to see Tina. You said if I behaved, you'd take me to see Tina! Where is Tina? I want to see her."
Charles patiently comforted her, "Be good! After this treatment, I'll take you to see her, okay?"
Hannah looked at him suspiciously. "Really?"
Charles said, "I keep my promises, trust me!"
Hannah, being simple-minded, believed him again after seeing his earnest expression and nodded obediently.
The male psychologist said, "The two of us will treat her. You all should leave first! If anything happens, we'll call you."
Charles, a bit worried, asked, "There shouldn't be any major issues, right?"
The male doctor confidently said, "Don't worry, I've been a psychologist for many years and have seen all kinds of cases! If she was really hypnotized, I can end it."
The female doctor also said, "Yes! With our reputation and skills in the industry, there shouldn't be any major problems! Just wait for our good news."
Hearing this, Charles finally felt relieved. "Alright! We'll be outside. If you need any help, just let us know!"
After saying that, he left with Ryan, Martin, and Randy.
The four of them sat on the bench outside the ward. Charles rested his elbows on his thighs, holding his face in his hands, not speaking, his heart trembling with anxiety.
The other three were also very quiet. Everyone waited patiently.
After a while, Randy broke the silence, "If they end Hannah's hypnosis, will she return to her old self?"
Martin nodded. "She should."
Ryan sighed. "It's scary that hypnosis can control a person like this."
Martin and Randy both looked at him.
Ryan, feeling uncomfortable under their gaze, awkwardly rubbed his nose and stopped talking.
Charles had no mood for chatting. Thinking about the situation in the ward made him inexplicably irritable. He couldn't help but rub his face hard and silently pray.
He hoped they could end Hannah's hypnosis. He hoped everything could return to the beginning.
