Chapter 91 Framing Patricia, After Killing to Silence
Sean had never expected Debbie to want to take his life. Caught off guard and defenseless, by the time he realized what was happening, a fruit knife had already pierced his kidney.
Blood dripped onto the floor, and the strong smell of blood permeated the cramped space, while excruciating pain surged from his lower back.
He abruptly released his grip on Debbie's hand, pointed at her, and his eyes widened with disbelief.
"You... how ruthless are you, actually trying to kill me..."
Debbie was expressionless, looking at him ominously as if she were the devil.
"Only when you are dead will this secret remain forever hidden. It's the only way I can ensure that Martin remains unaware and that I can maintain a secure and peaceful existence."
Sean couldn't believe he would meet his end at the hands of a woman. Anger surged to his head, prompting him to reach for Debbie's neck.
"Even if I have to die, I'll make sure you're buried with me!"
A sudden suffocating feeling turned Debbie's face bright red. Unafraid, she calmly raised the fruit knife and thrust it into his abdomen repeatedly, precisely targeting his internal organs.
"Ugh..."
Veins popped on Sean's forehead as large amounts of blood gushed from his mouth, and his grip on Debbie's neck gradually weakened.
Debbie sneered, "Rest assured, after you die, I will have your subordinates avenge you! However, the killer who took your life won't be me; it will be Patricia."
"You're despicable..."
Sean had so much to say, yet in the end, he couldn't utter a single word. He continued to stare with wide eyes, falling to the ground lifelessly without closing them.
To make sure he had truly drawn his last breath, Debbie crouched down, checking his pulse and heartbeat. She would only be satisfied once she was sure that he was dead; she stood, put on gloves, and took out Patricia's work badge from her bag, deliberately revealing a corner of it.
After setting up the scene, she took Sean's phone and sent a location and message to her most trusted subordinate, Rock.
"I'm being hunted by Martin now and need to lay low abroad for a while. Bring $100,000 in cash to me. Here's my address, come following the location."
Rock was Sean's hidden right-hand man, a former special-forces soldier, ruthless and highly skilled. He would do whatever Sean commanded, loyal and devoted.
Rock was the last chess piece Sean had left for himself, only to be used in desperate situations.
The others in the gang didn't know that Rock directly took orders from Sean. Debbie had extracted this information from Sean's mouth during their intimate moments.
As long as Rock discovered Patricia's work badge before Martin found Sean, he would conclude that Patricia was the one who had taken Sean's life.
With Rock's personality, even if he had to chase her to the ends of the earth, he would kill Patricia just to avenge Sean.
All Debbie had to do was sit back and enjoy the results.
At this moment, the phone made a "ding" sound. It was a message from Rock.
"I'll be there right away!"
After receiving Rock's message and confirming his return, Debbie arrogantly made a final check of the scene, making sure there were no loopholes, before proudly leaving.
Half an hour later, Rock arrived at the fastest speed possible. But what he saw was Sean's lifeless body lying in a pool of blood.
He knelt down on the ground, filled with grief and anger, and his eyes immediately turned bloodshot. His hand, with a long scar, gently touched Sean's face, closing his lifeless eyes.
He had intended to carry Sean away and give him a simple burial.
Suddenly, he heard the sound of a car outside the door.
With his years of experience as a special-forces soldier, he knew that it wasn't just one car coming, but at least five or more.
Even though he was skilled, he couldn't fight against so many. He wouldn't gain any advantage.
After careful consideration, he decided to leave first, planning to seek revenge for Sean in the future.
As he got up, he caught a glimpse of something sticking out from underneath the bedsheet. He pulled it out and was surprised to find a work badge hidden in such a discreet place on the bed.
A cold glint appeared in his eyes, and his murderous intent was revealed.
After hearing the sound of brakes outside the door, he quickly put the work badge into his pocket and agilely jumped out of the window.
At the same moment, someone pushed the door open from the outside, and Alan led a group of bodyguards into the room. When they saw that Sean was already dead, they couldn't help but sigh with resignation.
They had arrived one step too late. This time, there really was no evidence left. It would be difficult to find out who was behind the scenes, hiring Sean to deal with the lady.
When Martin found out from Alan's phone call that Sean had been killed to silence him, his deep black eyes narrowed, and a suppressed anger engulfed him.
"Don't call the police. Let the forensic team collect evidence and see if there are any clues at the scene."
"I've already called the doctor to come."
"Good! Keep me informed of any updates."
After giving the orders, Martin hung up the phone and looked at Patricia, who was still unconscious. Inside him, a wave of raging fury churned.
Patricia, in her fitful sleep, was extremely restless. She was having a dream.
In her dream, after jumping into the sea, she was repeatedly struck by giant waves, losing her sense of direction.
She desperately swam, trying to reach the OMM cargo ship to save Charles, but the ship was just too big.
When the ship started moving, she was almost sucked into the turbine, but luckily, a huge wave hit her, throwing her back out.
In her dazed state, she watched as the OMM cargo ship drifted further away.
"Charles, don't leave... Charles, Mommy will come to save you right away, Charles..."
Patricia desperately shook her head, waving her hands aimlessly, as if trying to grasp something, but she was unable to.
Martin immediately held her flailing hands.
"Patricia, don't be afraid, I'm here, and I will always be by your side... Patricia..."
It was as if Patricia didn't hear his voice. Tears rolled down from her tightly closed eyes, and she kept murmuring, "Charles... Charles..."
Her calling out to him was like thin needles, piercing into Martin's heart, causing a sour ache in his chest.
"Do you care so much for that illegitimate child? What about Randy? What does Randy mean to you? If Randy knew that you ended up like this because of that illegitimate child, he would be even sadder."
However, Patricia, trapped in her nightmare, couldn't hear his words at all. Tears kept streaming down her face.
Martin gently wiped away the tears at the corners of her eyes, but no matter how much he tried, he couldn't completely dry them. The more he thought about how she made herself like this for another man's child, the more intense the pain in his chest became.
"Do you care so much for that child because you love his father? In all these years, you have never come back to see me and Randy, is it because of them being father and son? Is he more important to you than Randy?"
His questions were met with silence.
Little did he know, Randy was standing outside the door and had heard every word.
Tears welled up in Randy's eyes, his face turned pale, his teeth biting hard into his lips, and his tiny hand gripping the doorframe tightly, the knuckles turning white from the force.
No wonder Mommy had never come back to visit him all these years. It turned out Mommy didn't love him and Daddy. She only loved Charles and Charles's Daddy.
This realization made his small body tremble slightly, and he sadly turned around, his back appearing particularly lonely and helpless.
