Chapter 384 Grace and Martin's Engagement
As Tears welled up and spilled over as Patricia frantically Patricia's tears flowed unchecked, she pushed through the bustling mall crowd toward where she'd seen, hoping against hope to glimpse Martin,
again. But histhe familiar figure was nowhere to be found.
She searched desperately, on the brink of madness.
Alas, the familiar silhouette was nowhere in sight.
The mall was fully filled withfull of people, yet the man who haunted her dreams and thoughts was nowhere to be found.
"Martin!Martin... Martin...""
The hope she had few mintues ago was extinguished once again.
Just then,She felt the last embers of hope extinguish. Then, feeling a hand landed on her shoulder from behind.
She was excited as, she turned around, anticipating...
But , her heart leaping, only for her smile disappeared from the instant she saw who it wasto vanish upon seeing Hunter.
"Who did you think you saw?" he said.
Patricia knew his jealousy all too well to answer carelessly,. "I miss Martin. I and want to see him. Can you make that happen? Can you bring him to me?" Her words, heavy with longing, were punctuated by fresh tears.
As she spoke, tears began to fall again.
She longedyearned for Martin intensely.
So muchwith a deep intensity that it robbedkept her of sleep.
So muchfrom sleeping. The pain was so intense that her heart felt grew numb from the pain.
So much that she . She was on the verge of breaking down.
But, but she knew that she would never see him again.
OnceSince Hunter imprisoned by Hunterher, she had held onto the hope that as long as they both lived, they would eventually meet again.

Hunter's face turned ashen,paled. "He's dead, gone forever!. You'll never see him again in this lifetime.. What's there to miss about a dead man? Am I, a living, breathing person alive and before you, really worth less than a corpse?"

A laugh full of derision and disdain.
"You will never compare with him."
Realizing her mistake, she quickly corrected herself,," she said with a scornful laugh, her voice dripping with derision. "No, I misspoke. It's not that you don't measure up to him; you're not even worthy of being compared to him!"."
With those words, Patricia walked straightstrode into a nearby women's fashion boutique ahead.
, leaving Hunter trembledshaking with suppressed rage. He took a deep breathinhaled deeply, attempting to calm downquell his anger, and followed Patricia into the boutiqueher inside.
Patricia spent millionshundreds of thousands of dollars on clothes that morning. .
Every timeWhenever she spotted a piece of clothing that caught her eye and it was her size, she would snatch it up without a second thought, swiping Hunter's credit card with an ease that made it clear she wasn't the least bit guilty about spending his cash.
Then Patricia got intoWhen she entered a cell phonecellphone store.

"I know what you're thinking," Patricia said coldly, you should not even bother that I am looking at phones, "Relax, Martin's gone. Even if I had a phone, there's no way I could contact him."
Hunter was at a loss for words, and his confusion was obviousevident.
Patricia continued,. "You can't cut me off from the world forever, Hunter. I'm a human being, not some caged bird of yoursyou own."
After her declaration, herHer gaze then settled on a phone displayed inside a glass case.
She took the phone out and used it to taptapped Hunter's chest, and said without any emotion, with it.
"You really shouldn't worry. ," she said. "I'm not leaving the Myou or Country, and I'm certainly not leaving you M."
Hunter felt a rush of relief that quickly extinguished any anger he had harbored, but his reliefit was short-lived.
"You're a sicko, Hunter. When you snap, you're capable of anything; I'd be an idiot to provoke someone like you!"."
She continued to the counter with her new phone to set up an account number.
Ever since Hunter had brought her to this country and gave her a new identity, she'd made sure to carryalways carried this document with her all the time.
. After setting everything up, Patricia pocketed her new phone and strode out of the store.
What she didn't known was that, twoTwo shops down the road in an electronics store, Martin was staring at her, watchingwatched her and Hunter disappear from sight.

Martin He was so distraught that he didn't hear anyone calling himthe calls.
"Martin... Martin... Martin?" Grace waved her hand in front of him.
"Martin, what are you looking at? There's nothing there."
Martin snapped back to reality.

Grace latched onto his arm and said,. "We're getting engaged soon, and I just wanted to share somespend time with you. You're always so busy."
Martin didn't pull away from Grace away, simply respondingsaying, "Yeah, you areyou're right. I'm too busy."
Grace said, "Our engagement is only a week away! ," Grace said. "We still need to pick out the dress!. Grandpa said he wants us to have the ceremony back in Country Y country. He's too old for long trips and I'm his only granddaughter; he wants to bless us in person."
"Alright. Just book the tickets."
"You agreed with me?"
"So, you agree?"
By getting engaged in Country Y, they cancould avoid Hunter, and they won'twouldn't run into Patricia at the engagement party either.
He nodded,. "Yeah, an engagement in Country Y country, why not."?"
"Martin, you're so good to me!"wonderful," Grace kissed onsaid, kissing his cheek.
