Chapter 710 Forgiving Him Will Lead to Endless Troubles

Susan stood up and walked step by step to Joe.

Joe reached out to hold Susan's arms, just about to explain, but Susan directly raised her hand and slapped him hard on his face.

The entire room fell silent.

Carol looked at the scene in disbelief, completely stunned, unable to react for a long time.

Susan actually hit Joe again!

This was already the second time today.

The mark from the previous slap on Joe's face hadn't even faded yet! Now he got slapped again.

His face would definitely be more swollen tomorrow.

After hitting Joe, Susan broke down once more, grabbing Joe by the collar, crying and hitting him. "Joe, how could you do this to me! Why are you treating me like this? Why?"

Seeing Susan cry, Joe's heart ached, and he hurriedly raised his hand to swear, "I can swear to God, I really haven't had any sexual relations with other women since we got married. My heart is only with you and the kids."

"Hunter may be my son, but before this, I didn't know he existed!"

"All these years, how have I treated you, this family, and the kids? Haven't you seen it clearly?"

Susan wasn't stupid.

Piecing together the whole story, she immediately guessed the truth.

She said, "He had no grudge against Billy, so why would he kill Billy? He had it all planned out. He knew that if Billy died, he would be your only son, the only heir!"

"It was you, you who caused Billy's death."

"If it weren't for the trouble you caused outside, Billy wouldn't have died."

"It was you two conspired to kill Billy!"

"You bastard, give me back Billy!"

"My poor son, he was only in his twenties, he hadn't even gotten married, nor had he had kids. He died so young."

The more she thought about it, the more wronged she felt.

Tears fell down her face.

Joe's heart ached; he wanted to hold Susan and comfort her.

However, Susan wouldn't let him touch her, pushing his hand away.

"Get away! Don't touch me with your filthy hands!"

Joe said helplessly, "Susan, I really haven't done anything to betray you; please believe me!"

Susan gritted her teeth and said, "Fine, I believe you! Kill Hunter now, and I'll believe you."

Joe sighed, lowered his head, and said weakly, "You know that's impossible! He's my son. I can't kill him."

Susan said in despair, "Do you remember when you thought Billy killed Linda and her child, what did you say? You righteously told Kaleb that you would send Billy to prison. You would let him face legal punishment!"

"You could be so just and fair with Billy, why can't you do the same with Hunter?"

"Billy killed someone you didn't even know, but Hunter killed your own son!"

Joe explained, "That's because I knew Billy wouldn't be in much trouble, at most a few years in prison. If he behaved well in prison, I could use my connections, and he would be out soon."

"But Hunter is different! He killed Billy, if he goes in, he will face a death sentence."

Susan felt that Joe just couldn't bear to part with Hunter.

Susan said, "So, you're just going to let Billy die in vain? When you suspected Patricia of killing Billy, what did you say? You said she had to pay with her life for Billy!"

"Now that it's Hunter's turn, you can't bear to do it?"

"Joe, you are so selfish."

Susan had never felt so desperate before.

Even though Billy had died, at least she still had Joe and Carol.

Joe had also promised to catch the killer and avenge Billy.

Now, she only had Carol left.

Joe was wholeheartedly protecting Hunter and had long forgotten about their son Billy.

Joe had no way to deal with Susan, so he could only look to Carol for help.

However, when he saw the utterly disappointed expression on Carol's face, his heart sank to the bottom.

Carol walked over to Susan, holding her heartbroken mother in her arms, and her attitude toward Joe completely changed.

Carol said, "Dad, you have really let me down!"

Joe felt troubled. "Carol, I..."

Carol didn't want to hear Joe's excuses. "Do you remember how Billy died? He was held down in the swimming pool and drowned by Hunter."

"Imagine how painful it must have been for him, so painful that his fingernails were torn off!"

"After he died, his body was left in the water for over twenty days. When we finally retrieved his body, it had to be dissected bit by bit!"

"Dad, even if you have a shred of memory of Billy, you shouldn't let Hunter go."

Joe anxiously said, "I know he's ruthless and killed Billy! But... "

But Joe simply couldn't bring himself to kill his own son!

Carol continued, saying, "I used to think you were fair and would give Mom an explanation! But now you are trying to persuade her to let Hunter go! And you even want me to accept him."

"I'm telling you, no way!"

"Mom and I have the same bottom line. We don't demand that you personally kill him, but he should be dealt with properly."

"If he broke the law, he should be handed over to the law for punishment!"

"If you let him go, Mom and I will never forgive you for the rest of our lives!"

After saying this, she turned her head away from Joe, her attitude exceptionally firm. "Mom and I are tired and want to rest! Dad, you should stay in my room for the next few days. I'll stay here with Mom! When you figure things out, come find us."

Joe looked at Susan and Carol with reluctance.

This matter was very complicated.

Joe wanted to handle it properly.

However, the more he tried to handle it, the messier it got.

Even if he stayed, he couldn't solve the problem. After hesitating for a while, he finally turned and left.

Seeing Joe just leave like that, Susan cried even harder in Carol's arms.

Carol hadn't expected things to turn out this way either, and her eyes reddened.

She said, "Mom, it's okay. No matter what happens, I'm on your side!"

Susan soon soaked a large part of Carol's shirt with her tears.

Luckily, she still had Carol; otherwise, she really wouldn't know how to go on.

On the other side, after returning to the room, Martin recounted the entire incident to Patricia.

After hearing Martin's words, Patricia was also shocked and couldn't calm down for a long time.

She hadn't expected Hunter to actually be Joe's son.

This was too unbelievable!

Hunter was really a member of the Miller family!

Martin said worriedly, "This matter has become very complicated! We put great efforts to catch Hunter, but now there might be other complications."

This time, Hunter had a prime minister for a father.

In the future, he would be even harder to deal with.
