Chapter 1116 Sorting Out the Timeline, Understanding the Whole Process
Lassie was so angry that she couldn't speak, and her eyes began to redden.
Charles continued to scroll down.
Austin: [Charles has people watching me. I can't contact you for a while. Leave me a message if there's an emergency!]
Tina: [I'm already on the ship to Country H! You don't need to worry about us, just take care of yourself.]
Austin: [I've arranged everything in Country H. Someone will meet you at the dock! During this time, you and Hannah should stay indoors unless absolutely necessary. Especially Hannah, Charles has designed a software to track her. Hannah must not appear in any place with cameras! You must keep a close eye on her! This will all be over soon!]
Tina: [Okay! I know what to do.]
Austin: [How's Hannah?]
Tina: [Same as before. Her feelings for Charles are too deep; she often wakes up from nightmares calling his name! To avoid being discovered, I have to keep her asleep.]
Austin: [More sleep is always good! As long as she isn't discovered, she can sleep all the way to Country H.]
Tina: [Okay! I'll hypnotize her without harming her body, don't worry!]
Austin: [I trust you! Alright, I have to turn off my phone now. I'll contact you when I can.]
Tina: [Okay!]
The conversation ended there. Then they didn't contact each other for two months.
Charles really admired Austin. Austin trusted Tina so much. Wasn't he afraid Tina would mistreat Hannah behind his back? During this time, didn't he miss Hannah?
For two months, he didn't even send a single greeting. If he didn't care about Hannah, he wouldn't have done all those bad things for her.
If he did care about Hannah, he could leave her with a complete stranger and not check in for two months. Did he really like Hannah, or did he just trust Tina that much?
Moreover, during these two months, Austin came to Country H twice for conferences. Both times he came to Country H, he didn't visit Hannah.
Because during those times, they had no contact at all, not even a phone call. Charles had to admit, Austin had a very strong mental fortitude.
All people who did bad things had very strong mental fortitude. And Austin was undoubtedly one of the best.
Even Charles had to admit he couldn't compare. If it were Charles, he wouldn't be able to wait a minute; he would be eager to see Hannah.
It wasn't until Austin's third trip to Country H that he messaged Tina again.
Charles remembered this time because he had Wyatt monitor Austin for a while, and after finding nothing suspicious, he called off the surveillance.
In other words, Austin knew all along that Charles had people watching him. Austin's routine of going back and forth between two places was just a smokescreen.
After Charles stopped suspecting him, he went to see Hannah again.
Austin: [I'll come around midnight, don't fall asleep!]
Tina: [Okay!]
Then they didn't contact each other for a long time again.
After about a month, Tina called Austin twice in a row. The first call was short, only three minutes. The second call was also short, just two or three minutes.
Because they hadn't planted a virus in their phones at that time, they could only recover their text messages and call logs, not the content of their conversations.
The first call was in the middle of the night, very late. The second call was early in the morning, before dawn.
The time of their second call was less than two hours before Charles found out about Hannah.
Charles pointed to the time and asked Lassie, "Lassie, did Carter have his accident around this time?"
Lassie glanced at the time. "No, the first call was when Carter had just been moved from the ICU to a regular ward. I remember that very clearly. As for the second call, I'm not so sure."
Those days were undoubtedly the most torturous for her. She was practically counting the minutes.
So when her husband safely passed the critical period and was moved from the ICU to a regular ward, she felt like she had come back to life. It was as if she could see hope again.
Charles frowned, exited the call log, and opened the text messages.
A few days before Tina and Austin's calls, they had also been texting.
Austin: [My father had an accident and is now in the ICU. In the coming days, people from the Moore family, the Langley family, and the Parker family might come to Country H. Under no circumstances can she step outside. If we're not careful, they might find out. No matter what, they can't know I've hidden Hannah here.]
This message was sent around the time Carter had his accident.
Austin knew he couldn't hide Hannah's whereabouts for long. Country H was so small that if people from the Langley family and the Parker family came, they would inevitably run into each other. So he wanted to move Hannah again or hide her.
Tina: [I know what to do.]
Tina: [We're currently in the capital of Country H. Should we move to another small city?]
Tina seemed to understand Austin very well. She could sense his anxiety from the messages and quickly think of a solution.
Austin: [Okay! But you must move within half an hour! My mother is coming soon, and Country H is too small. Anything could happen. I don't want you to run into her on the road.]
Tina: [I understand! We don't have much stuff. I've already booked a house online! We can leave with just a little packing.]
Austin: [Okay! Remember to have Hannah wear a hat and mask.]
Tina: [I know! Don't worry, as long as I'm with her, no one will find her.]
Austin: [Okay! I trust you the most!]
Charles gave Austin a meaningful look. Austin was very smart. Even now, there was no evidence in his conversations with Tina that he had harmed Carter.
A few days after Tina moved with Hannah, they contacted each other again.
Austin: [How's it going?]
Tina: [Hannah curiously asked why we were moving, but I managed to brush it off! She's now asleep again under hypnosis, without any suspicion.]
Austin: [Make sure to stay with her at all times! I don't think I can keep my father's situation hidden for long. The Langley family should be coming soon. Don't let her leave the house until they are gone.]
Tina: [I know what to do, don't worry.]
Austin: [Thank you! Once this is over, I'll properly thank you.]
Tina: [There's no need to be so formal between us! I'm not doing this for your thanks! Take good care of your father. I'll handle Hannah, so don't worry.]
Austin: [Thank you!]
Charles continued to scroll down. When he saw the next message, his eyes instantly sharpened.
