Chapter 105: Watching a Show
After a while, the two little ones spoke in unison, "Grandma, we're willing."
Madam instantly became as happy as a child, startling Aunt Liu, who quickly supported her.
Madam patted her hand to comfort her.
"Then go back and tell your parents. If they agree, bring them along next time to play."
Ethan and Emma obediently agreed.
Once they got into the car, Emma excitedly hugged Ethan.
"That's great! Grandma wants to recognize us as her grandchildren. I have to tell Mommy this good news."
Ethan's expression slightly changed, and he spoke in a voice only the two of them could hear, "Don't tell Mommy. If she knows we came here, she will be scared and worried."
Emma realized her mistake. She had been too excited and almost forgot about this. Mischievously, she stuck out her tongue and sat down obediently.
The driver drove earnestly, seemingly unaware of anything happening outside the window.
The two little ones had come out while their godfather was not at home, so now they had to hurry back before he returned.
…
D City was indeed not as bustling as B City. Sophia was afraid it wouldn't be safe to drive late at night. Seeing that the workers had no problems, she drove back to the Luya Hotel around five o'clock, before it got dark.
After taking a shower, it was around eight o'clock. Sophia went downstairs to the hotel restaurant, video calling Ethan and Emma. She ate while listening to the two little ones telling her interesting stories, enduring for a full hour and a half.
"When is Mommy coming back?" The two little ones were most concerned about this question.
"Tomorrow night, you'll be able to see Mommy then," Sophia also wanted to see her two little ones as soon as possible.
Without them by her side, she felt a lack of security.
Sophia caught sight of a familiar figure out of the corner of her eye, a smile forming at the corner of her mouth, "Mommy still has something to attend to, so I won't discuss it with you for now."
"Okay, bye Mommy."
"Mommy, mwah."
Sophia replied, "Mwah~"
Sophia ended the video call and followed after with her cellphone in hand.
Fiona actually chased after her!
Now there was a good show to watch.
Fiona had been waiting in the hotel lobby for an hour, and she finally waited for Mr. Lancaster to return.
Gabriel's face was cold and stern, wearing a navy blue coat that accentuated his already deep and aloof aura. He walked into the hotel with large strides, not going directly to his room but instead taking a meal card from the front desk and heading to the restaurant.
While waiting for his food, Gabriel was still replying to work emails on his phone.
Once the food arrived, he put down his phone and ate in a serious manner.
He ate with elegance, yet not too slowly. With every movement, his noble temperament was fully displayed, making him a beautiful scenery in the restaurant.
It was at this moment that Fiona approached Gabriel with her own tray of food.
"Mr. Lancaster, what a coincidence to meet you here. It seems we have quite the fate." Fiona deliberately struck up a conversation.
After getting all dressed up, including a spritz of what she considered her "slay-all" fragrance, Fiona intentionally carried herself with a hint of elegance and spoke with a deliberately seductive tone.
Gabriel's eyebrows wrinkled instantly, tight enough to crush a fly. He instinctively wanted to get her away from him but then remembered his condition. Today, being around Sophia didn't make him feel restless.
To test this further, he remained expressionless, as if he hadn't noticed Fiona at all, and continued with his meal.
Seeing that Gabriel didn't chase her away, Fiona's racing heart finally settled. She approached him with a cup of freshly squeezed juice and said, "Mr. Lancaster, this is freshly squeezed juice. I can see that you've had a long day at work. Drink it to replenish your nutrition."
Gabriel felt a faint restlessness in his heart. Despite not intentionally suppressing it, this growing restlessness seemed much more manageable than previous explosive episodes. Could it be that his strange illness was genuinely triggered by Sophia and that the cure also lay with her? Why did it have to be Sophia?
"Mr. Lancaster?" Fiona took the opportunity while he zoned out and moved from her seat across the table to sit beside him.
The restaurant was nearly empty now, and Sophia was busy taking selfies in the distance, with Fiona and Gabriel as the backdrop. Just as she finished taking the photo, the next second, Gabriel suddenly pushed Fiona away. She fell to the ground, trying hard to maintain a pitiful appearance.
"Mr. Lancaster, why did you push me?" nearly choked on her food.
"Get lost!" Gabriel coldly uttered a single word. The internal restlessness made his handsome face contort slightly, but even so, it didn't diminish his charm and nobility.
Fiona belatedly felt a chill, meeting Gabriel's bloodshot eyes. Her scalp tingled, and she shivered with cold. She felt like she might die tonight.
Fiona quickly and gracefully stood up but didn't want to miss this opportunity today. Trembling, she lowered her head gently and weakly said, "I apologize, Mr. Lancaster. I was too presumptuous. I will leave now."
Gabriel took deep breaths, trying hard to calm his emotions after Fiona left.
Damn it!
Suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, he noticed Sophia not far away. As his gaze met hers, the cold killing intent in Gabriel's eyes hadn't vanished, causing Sophia to shiver inexplicably.
This shit man, he wouldn't be targeting her, would he? To avoid any unpleasant encounters, she quickly walked away.
Just as Sophia took a step, Gabriel called out to her. "Sophia!" His voice, while biting through gritted teeth, sounded like he was gnawing on his own flesh.
Sophia pretended not to hear.
"If you want me to find your room, then go ahead and walk away."
Sophia had to stop in her tracks. Change hotels. We're moving tonight!
To be continued.
"Let's go check out!" Sophia's pace quickened after two seconds.
"Damn it!" Gabriel abruptly stood up and chased after her. With his longer legs, it was clear that Sophia couldn't outrun him.
Gabriel blocked Sophia at the front desk.
"Enjoying the show?" Gabriel's eyes were dark and intimidating, like a deep well, instilling an inexplicable fear.
Sophia avoided looking into his eyes and smirked, "Oh yes, very much."
Such a good show, how could it not be enjoyable?
She wished she could watch a few more, ideally with Tiffany participating.
Tsk... Amazing!
"There's a price to pay for watching my show," he whispered softly in her ear.
Sophia stiffened, wanting to push Gabriel away, but she found him as impenetrable as a wall, trapping her between him and the front desk, unable to push him aside no matter what.
Meanwhile, the front desk staff silently retreated to the side, acting as if they saw and heard nothing.
"And now you'll pay a price for blocking me," she retorted.
With that, she swiftly raised her knee and aimed straight for his vulnerable area with all her strength.
Gabriel had already anticipated her intention, and he quickly captured her knee with his palm. Despite Sophia's effort, his strength was superior, making it impossible for her to move.
Sophia grew furious, "Let me go!"
"I told you, there's a price to pay for watching the show."
