Chapter 738 Increase

"Mommy looks so beautiful today," Emma shouted as she tried to jump into Sophia's arms, but Gabriel caught her midway.

"Today, we're taking you out to have some fun."

Emma's eyes lit up. "Awesome, we're going out!"

Ethan and Sam exchanged glances.

Gabriel and Sophia quietly took their identification documents, taking the three kids out as an excuse and then headed straight to City Hall.

Gabriel had already made arrangements yesterday, so today City Hall was temporarily empty.

When they arrived, there were no other couples registering, just the staff.

"Today, no one can disturb our family."

The three kids understood as soon as they saw "City Hall."

Sophia and Gabriel were getting married!

Emma was especially excited. Now, no one could call her an illegitimate child!

Sophia and Gabriel went to register their marriage and took a few photos with the kids.

If it weren't for the fact that photos couldn't be attached to the marriage certificate, Sophia would have loved to stick one on.

In front of the kids, Sophia and Gabriel took their vows.

The three kids were moved to tears.

Although Sam didn't quite understand, and Emma only half-understood, they still witnessed Sophia and Gabriel's love.

They stamped the certificate with the handprints of all five family members.

The staff remained silent.

The marriage certificate was quickly issued.

Holding the two pieces of paper, Sophia's mood suddenly changed.

The last time she and Gabriel registered their marriage, Gabriel had a cold expression, as if she owed him billions of dollars, while she was just laughing. She still remembered that day; she smiled like a fool, and Gabriel looked like an ice block.

Now, as they registered their marriage, both of their faces were lit up with sweet, radiant smiles, their eyes sparkling.

"Mommy, let me see," Emma eagerly reached for Sophia and Gabriel's marriage certificate.

Ethan and Sam were also curious.

"Daddy and Mommy look so handsome and beautiful. I want to be just like them when I grow up," Emma said, feeling a sense of pride as if the certificate were some kind of award.

Gabriel's expression turned complex.

He took the two marriage certificates and put them in his coat pocket.

"Let's go home and show it to your great-grandmother."

Ruth was at home, smiling while watching a sad TV drama.

Betty often wondered if the show was really a sad drama.

"Great-grandma, we're back!"

The three kids ran in, eagerly asking Ruth, "Great-grandma, guess where we went."

"Amusement park?"

"Nope," Ethan shook his finger.

"A playground?"

"Nope," Sam also shook his head.

"Sea World?"

"Still wrong, great-grandma, we went to City Hall!" Emma couldn't hold it in any longer.

"What City Hall?" Ruth didn't immediately understand.

Then Gabriel handed the marriage certificate to Ruth.

"Grandma, we went to register our marriage today."

"Oh my God, my dream has come true," Ruth said, holding the marriage certificate with tears of joy in her eyes.

After Ruth calmed down, Gabriel mentioned the temporary postponement of the wedding.

Ruth, upon hearing the reason, had no objections.

"Postpone it then. After all, Sophia is already part of the Lancaster family."

Sophia had been nervous since she entered in, thinking that if Ruth disagreed, they would just hold the wedding as planned.

Hearing Ruth's agreement, Sophia felt relieved.

Celeste also had no objections when she got the news.

Celeste and Ruth even secretly planned to prepare two sets of wedding supplies, thinking they had nothing else to do and could help the young couple with the preparations.

Sophia told Caroline about it.

Caroline was momentarily stunned and then felt a bit guilty.

"Sophia, you don't have to postpone your wedding for me."

"Don't feel burdened. I actually want to have the wedding with you."

Caroline said, "Then I'll try to get Nicholas to propose soon?"

"Sure."

Outside the door, Nicholas stood there, his head slightly lowered, looking gloomy.

His gaze fell on his legs.

Nicholas thought in mind, 'My legs were recovering so slowly; how could I get married to Caroline in this state?'

A wedding was a once-in-a-lifetime event, and he wanted to be in normal condition for it.

He wanted to be able to hold her normally, to walk hand in hand with her, not have her standing behind him in a wedding dress, while pushing his wheelchair.

Nicholas turned away, feeling down.

Simon came to treat him weekly, and now there was an added foot-soaking regimen.

Today, Simon came for Nicholas's treatment.

While Caroline was at school, Nicholas took the opportunity to ask Simon.

"Is there any way to speed up the recovery of my legs?"

Simon looked up at him and snorted, "There are ways to speed it up."

Nicholas eagerly asked, "What ways? I want to try."

"Your condition will improve best with slow and steady rehab. If you rush it, you might recover temporarily, but are you sure you can handle the potential aftereffects?"

Nicholas frowned and said nothing.

Simon, in a bad mood, said, "Every winter, you would feel your legs were being bitten by bugs. In severe cases, you'll end up back in a wheelchair."

Nicholas remained silent.

During treatment, the pain made Nicholas break out in a sweat.

After finishing, Simon stood up and wiped his hands.

"Keep soaking your feet and training, and you'll definitely recover."

It was rare for Simon to comfort Nicholas.

"What if I increase my training time?" Nicholas asked.

"Moderate increases are fine."

Nicholas's eyes were filled with strong desire and determination.

After that day, Nicholas increased his daily training from two hours to four.

Sharpe had mostly recovered, except for the fractured areas that still needed rest, but he was back working with Nicholas.

Charles, having injured his brain, had some limb issues and still needed rehab before he could return to work with Nicholas.

Charles's son had officially taken Charles's last name. Trevor had experienced two episodes of rejection after his heart transplant but he had been saved both times. He hadn't had any rejection episodes for a long time now.

Nicholas hired a professional nanny to care for Trevor and a top-notch caregiver for Charles to help with his rehab.

Three days later, Nicholas increased his training time to six hours.

Sharpe found Caroline.

"Miss Clark, please talk to Mr. Watson. His body can't handle this constant increase in training."

When Caroline arrived, Nicholas had already been training for two hours in a row.
