Chapter 566 Irrelevant

"Diana, why don't you hang out and keep Daisy company?" Linda was hoping Diana and Daisy would hit it off and become tight.

So, this New Year's Eve, she dragged Diana to meet the fam. Diana was super awkward and out of her element. While everyone else was having a blast, Diana was just standing there, feeling like a total outsider.

Linda suggested it, and Diana couldn't say no, so she agreed to stay, planning to sneak out after half an hour.

After Linda bounced, Mia had a servant bring Diana some fruit.

"Aunt Mia, I'm gonna go chill with Daisy in her room." Diana really didn't want to be alone with Mia.

Mia gave her a weird look.

"Hold up, Diana, I need to talk to you."

Diana felt a knot in her stomach.

She plopped down on the leather couch, feeling like she was sitting on pins and needles.

Mia sent the servants away, leaving just the two of them in the room.

Mia gave her a sly smile, "Diana, you sure are lucky."

Diana replied awkwardly, "Yeah, super lucky."

She was lucky to get help from kind folks and lucky to find her real parents.

"Unfortunately..." Mia sighed.

Diana's voice tightened, "Unfortunately what?"

Mia glanced at her. "Unfortunately, you're not Diana Wolf."

The apple slice in Diana's hand hit the floor.

"Aunt, what are you talking about?"

She couldn't figure out what Mia was up to.

Suddenly, it hit her that Mia had kept her here on purpose.

Diana panicked and stood up to leave.

"Aunt, if you're still mad about last night, I'm sorry. I'll just go."

"Diana, you're not Linda's daughter. You're just someone I found to play the part."

Diana's face went pale.

Her voice shook, "Aunt, stop talking nonsense."

"If you don't believe me, go do a secret paternity test. Oh, and by the way, the test Linda did when she first saw you at the hospital? I tampered with it."

"I thought you'd die from your illness, and Linda and Daniel would think their real daughter was dead. But you got lucky, matched with Caroline for a bone marrow transplant, and even got her donation."

Diana couldn't believe it.

"The birthmark on your back? Someone else has it too, and that person is the real deal."

"Stop it, I don't believe you!" Diana turned, looking at Mia anxiously, "You evil woman, you're just mad your own daughter failed, so you want to ruin me too. Well, I won't let you."

With that, she bolted out of the room.

Mia watched her run, a triumphant smile spreading across her face.

Up on the second floor, Daisy had seen and heard everything.

Her face was cold, and she suddenly shouted, "Mom, what are you doing?"

Mia turned around, her expression instantly softening. "Daisy, just wait and see, I'll make sure you get your revenge."

The next day, the drama at the Watsons' party was all anyone in the upper-class circle could talk about.

Everyone, whether they knew the Watsons and the Wolfs or not, heard that Daisy from the Wolfs was pregnant with some random guy's kid and tried to trick Nicholas into thinking it was his.

Nicholas, right there in front of everyone, showed a paternity test proving the kid wasn't his.

He even announced publicly that he had someone he liked and had nothing to do with Daisy from the Wolfs.

This whole mess left Daisy super embarrassed.

People who couldn't stand Daisy were loving it and plastered it all over the internet. It blew up on Facebook, becoming the latest gossip everyone was talking about.

Thanks to Nicholas, Caroline's info stayed under wraps.

She kept grinding at work, and Nicholas kept showing up to see Josie every day, using it as an excuse to stick around for dinner, and sometimes even crashing overnight.

Today, Nicholas had a social event and bumped into Daniel. They chatted for a bit.

"Found anything new?" Nicholas asked casually.

Daniel frowned and sighed, "Nope, not a single lead."

He knew his daughter was alive but had no idea where she was.

Nicholas's eyes darkened. "Ever suspect anyone close to you?"

Daniel was taken aback, "Who do you mean?"

"Your brother and sister-in-law."

Daniel immediately wanted to deny it. He knew Michael; Michael had ideas but no guts.

Otherwise, Michael wouldn't have been so mediocre all along.

But you never know what someone's really thinking.

Daniel wondered, 'Even if Michael doesn't dare, what about Mia? The initial paternity test was done by Mia. Since Diana isn't my daughter, how could there be a report showing Diana is my daughter?'

At that time, he was focused on keeping it from Linda, so he didn't ask Mia carefully.

Nicholas continued, "The first paternity test was probably tampered with. Think carefully about who could've done it."

With that, Nicholas raised his hand, and Sharpe pushed him away.

Daniel wanted to call him back to ask about Caroline, but at that moment, his phone on the table rang. It was the daughter of the orphanage director from City H, Saskia, calling.

Daniel immediately answered.

"Mr. Wolf, yesterday I met a teacher from the orphanage. I wanted to call you yesterday, but something came up."

Daniel asked, "Where is he now? I'll go find him myself."

"He flew abroad with his kids today."

"Which country did they go to? Can you give me the address?"

"I got the address for you, hold on, I'll send it to you."

Shortly after hanging up, the address and flight info came through.

Daniel immediately had his assistant cancel all his appointments and booked a flight to Munich.

That night, Linda waited up late, but Daniel never came back. After asking around, she found out he had gone abroad suddenly.

Linda frowned, feeling something was off.

Even if Daniel had to leave urgently, he'd usually send her a message before boarding.

But this time, there was no message at all. She only found out by asking others.

She didn't know what had happened.

Linda was worried and tossed and turned all night.

Diana couldn't sleep either.

That afternoon, she got a paternity test report from Mia.

It showed that the two people tested had no blood relationship.

She didn't know whose report it was.

Diana thought of what Mia had said that day.

'Could it be that I'm really not a Wolf?'

She also thought of the Watsons' party.

She decided to do a test herself. If she really was a Wolf, she could shove the results in Mia's face.

And also expose Mia's nasty side to Linda.

Diana secretly collected Linda's hair and went to the testing agency the next day.
