Chapter 188 My Dad is Here

This was the first time Nicholas had come to the kindergarten to see his daughter, Josie. When Josie first started school, he had originally arranged for her to go to an elite kindergarten in B City. However, Daisy later said that Josie was often bullied there. The children there were all spoiled by their families. They were not to be hit or scolded, had bad tempers, and didn't like to play with Josie. So, Daisy suggested that Josie be transferred to this regular kindergarten.
Later, Daisy said that Josie adapted very well to this kindergarten and played happily with her classmates every day.
Nicholas looked around. The environment here was very ordinary, with too few recreational facilities and small classrooms.
The class teacher, knowing that Josie's parent had arrived, hurriedly came to greet him. Upon seeing Nicholas's face, she was stunned on the spot. But when she saw the handsome man sitting in a wheelchair, she couldn't help but feel a little pity in her heart.
"What is your relationship with Josie?" The class teacher had seen handsome men like Gabriel before, so she didn't lose her composure when she saw Nicholas, a sickly handsome man.
"I'm her father." Nicholas's voice carried a chill that made the class teacher shiver for no reason.
This man was even colder than Mr. Lancaster.
"Oh, Josie is still in the classroom. I'll go get her."
"No need; I'll go see her."
Nicholas signaled his assistant to push him to the classroom.
Josie's classroom was on the first floor, so Nicholas didn't have to climb stairs.
He stood outside the classroom, looking in through the window. He immediately saw Caroline, who was playing the violin on the podium. His eyes deepened, and his hand on the armrest clenched.
If he wasn't mistaken, was the violin teacher Josie mentioned, who was very good, Caroline?
Huh, this woman was indeed good at playing the violin.
She often participated in competitions and won awards at school, and was even recommended to an overseas music academy.
Unfortunately, a woman who once dreamed of touring the world ended up being an art teacher in a small kindergarten a few years later.
Over the years, Nicholas had tried hard not to pay attention to Caroline's movements abroad, and never attended any violin concerts, so he knew nothing about Caroline's achievements abroad.
The melodious and cheerful tune entered his ears, and a few cracks appeared in Nicholas' frosty heart.
This song was very familiar, often coming to mind during midnight dreams.
Cheerful and sweet; it made people think of their loved ones after hearing it.
When the last note fell, Nicholas' face was very dark.
She dared to play this song!
His assistant behind him couldn't help but take a small step back. It was a very nice song, so why did the boss seem so angry?
"Miss Caroline, we want to hear more." Some children wanted Caroline to play another song.
Caroline smiled gently, "Your parents will be here to pick you up in a while. How about I teach you to play the violin tomorrow?"
The children chorused, "Okay."
Josie looked outside again and finally saw her dad.
She poked Emma in front of her, and when Emma turned around, she gave Emma a big smile and said, "My dad is here."
Since she started school, it had always been her mom who picked her up and dropped her off every day. This was the first time her dad had come.
Josie wished she could loudly tell everyone that her dad was here.
Emma followed Josie's gaze and saw a very handsome man with fair skin, red lips, and a melon seed face. His eyes were deep, a different kind of handsome compared to their “bad guy daddy”
However, she still preferred the handsomeness of their mischievous dad. Besides, Josie's dad looked so indifferent, giving off a slightly scary feeling.
Ethan also looked over, but he quickly shifted his gaze to their godmother.
Caroline was being entangled by several children who wanted to play the violin. She didn't notice Nicholas outside the classroom at all.
Not until the class teacher came in and called Josie out.
Josie knew that her dad was here today to talk to Caroline about her learning the violin. Josie walked straight to Caroline.
"Miss Caroline, my dad is here."
Caroline froze.
"My dad is outside. Miss Caroline, will you come out with me to meet my dad?" Josie wanted her dad to meet the amazing Caroline so that her dad would agree to let her learn the violin from Caroline.
Ethan didn't know when he had walked to Caroline's side. His warm little hand held Caroline's cold big hand.
"Godmother." He called softly; his eyes warm.
Caroline looked at the little guy and felt inexplicably more stable in her heart.
Why should she panic?
She didn't owe Nicholas anything. On the contrary, it was Nicholas who had killed her child and caused her to suffer for so long.
The one who should feel guilty and panic should be Nicholas!
After thinking it through, Caroline followed Josie out of the classroom to meet Nicholas.
Nicholas' cold gaze slid over Caroline and softened a little when he looked at his daughter.
He completely ignored Caroline and beckoned his daughter to come closer.
Josie never dared to get too close to her dad. From the time she was cognizant, her dad always had a chill about him. Mom also said that Dad didn't like people getting close; otherwise, Dad would get very angry.
But... now it was Dad who asked her to come over.
Josie hesitated and took small steps. Nicholas' eyes deepened and he beckoned again.
"Come closer."
Josie didn't dare to hesitate anymore and hurried over. However, in her haste, she tripped over her own feet and fell forward, landing on her dad's leg.
Josie's face turned pale with fright.
"Dad, I'm sorry."
She quickly apologized and struggled to get up, but was lifted by her dad. The next second, she was sitting on her dad's lap.
Josie and Nicholas looked very alike, both with small melon seed faces. The father and daughter didn't often appear together, so people didn't notice how similar they looked. Now that they were close together, the comparison revealed that she was simply a mini version of Nicholas.
Her eyes blinked in shock as she sat on her dad's lap, not daring to move, her body stiff.
Nicholas sighed inwardly.
He seemed to have neglected his daughter too much in the past, so much so that she dared not get too close to him.
"Do you really want to learn the violin?" He asked his daughter.
Josie nodded quickly.
"I want to learn from Miss Caroline."
Miss Caroline was very gentle, and she liked Miss Caroline, so she had to learn from Miss Caroline, no other teachers would do.
A flash of complexity crossed Nicholas' face. Caroline liked the violin, Josie also liked the violin, and it seemed that Josie liked Caroline very much.
This was the first time his daughter had actively made a request to him. Nicholas couldn't bear to refuse, so he had to look at Caroline and speak his first words to her in a very long time.
"Caroline, I would like you to teach my child to play the violin. You can name your price for the lessons."
Caroline, who had been ignored for so long, was not angry. She coldly looked at Nicholas, trying to suppress the hatred in her heart. Her voice was not as gentle as usual, but cold and icy, "I'm sorry, I don't have the time."
