Chapter 625 It's You!
Michael, all jittery and guilt-ridden, suddenly dropped to his knees in front of Daniel, leaving him totally floored.
"What the heck are you doing?"
Daniel tried to pull him up, but Michael wouldn't budge. He clung to Daniel's hand, his voice dripping with regret.
"Daniel, I'm so sorry. To you, to Linda, and especially to Caroline."
Nicholas just raised an eyebrow, his lips pressed into a thin line, like he could see right through everything. He watched the whole scene unfold in silence.
Everyone else looked totally confused.
Michael went on, "I just found out it was Mia who lost Caroline all those years ago!"
"What?" Linda's face went white. She grabbed Michael by the collar. "What did you say? Was it really Mia who lost my daughter?"
Michael nodded, tears and snot running down his face.
"Yeah, it was her. She told me herself. She had a human trafficker take her away on purpose. That trafficker disappeared for decades and just got caught. She was scared he'd rat her out, so she confessed to me."
"Daniel." Michael hugged Daniel's leg. "I just found out that Mia, that evil woman, did this!"
Caroline was just as confused, thinking, 'What's going on? Michael and Mia are turning on each other?'
"Mia, it was really Mia. I want her dead!"
Linda let go of Michael and bolted outside.
"Linda!" Daniel kicked Michael aside and ran after her.
Caroline frowned and followed.
Nicholas wheeled himself along, and Lisa, worried, followed with Josie in her arms.
Only Diana stood there, stunned.
Paul gave her a long look and stopped.
"Are you still hiding stuff?"
He didn't wait for Diana to answer and dragged Michael away.
Michael's house wasn't far, and Linda stormed over, looking ready to kill.
The villa door was open. Samuel was cooking in the kitchen, and Mia was helping.
Linda barged in, grabbed a vase, and chucked it at Mia.
Mia screamed as the vase shattered at her feet, her face going pale with fear.
"Linda, what are you doing!"
"Mia, you had someone take Caroline away on purpose. All these years, you've been lying to us, watching us suffer while you secretly laughed. Mia, you're so evil. Today, I'm gonna beat you to death."
Linda cursed as she grabbed Mia's hair and slapped her.
Mia wasn't having it. She caught Linda off guard and yanked her hair.
But Linda didn't even flinch. She kept hitting Mia like crazy, her sharp nails instantly scratching Mia's face.
"I'll beat you to death. I'll beat you to death. You're the one who kept me from my daughter for so many years. It's you!"
Daniel ran in and saw Linda and Mia tangled up in a fight. He was scared Linda would get hurt and tried to pull them apart, but he accidentally got hit and slapped.
At this moment, Linda's eyes were totally bloodshot, like all she could see was her enemy, Mia.
She had only one thought: to make Mia, the culprit, pay!
Linda yanked Mia's hair, pulling out a small piece of scalp.
Mia was in so much pain she almost passed out, her grip on Linda's hair going limp.
Samuel snapped out of it when he heard Mia's screams. He rushed over to help Daniel pull them apart.
Then Caroline and the others showed up one by one.
Daniel held the frantic Linda tightly.
Mia clutched her head, curling up in Samuel's arms.
"Linda, you maniac, I'm gonna sue you!"
Linda had come over to hit her several times, and she had had enough.
This time, Linda had even pulled out her hair. Mia carefully touched the wound, and her fingers came away bloody.
She screamed in terror and then lunged at Linda.
Samuel quickly held Mia back.
Linda turned around, glaring at Mia with pure hatred.
"Sue me? You still want to sue me? Mia, you lost my daughter, and I haven't even settled the score with you. Let's see who sues whom!"
Mia suddenly calmed down.
"What nonsense are you talking about? When did I lose your daughter? Don't slander me!"
"Mia, you can't get away with this. It was you who had Jared take Diana away all those years ago. It's been over twenty years," Daniel shouted, his eyes bloodshot with anger.
He also wanted to slap Mia to vent his rage.
Mia's expression changed, and she started to panic.
"I didn't. You're lying. Diana is my family too. Why would I have someone take her away?"
"Because your heart is black, rotten, and stinking. You are an old hag!" Linda didn't care about manners at this moment. She just wished she knew a few more curse words.
If cursing could kill, she would curse Mia to hell.
"You're the old hag!"
Michael glanced at Daniel, his eyes shifting as he thought for a moment, then rushed forward.
He slapped Mia.
Mia's head snapped to the side.
Through her hair, her eyes were filled with resentment as she stared at him.
Michael was so freaked out by her gaze that he took half a step back.
"You old hag, if I had known you were so vicious, I wouldn't have married you. You troublemaker, you've caused me so much pain."
Michael cursed as he raised his hand to hit her again.
Mia sneered. "Michael, it's you!"
She understood now.
Michael was her husband. They had been together for so many years and had two kids together, but Michael had immediately thrown her under the bus and put the blame on her.
To avoid taking responsibility, he had gone to Daniel and told the truth.
Michael continued, "You still don't repent, do you? I'll beat you until you admit your mistake."
"Dad!" Samuel grabbed Michael's hand.
"What the hell is going on?" He was confused but couldn't believe Mia had someone take Caroline away.
Caroline clenched her fists, also wanting to punch Mia.
"Mia, you not only had a human trafficker take me away but also tried to kill me several times. If I were gone, the only young lady of the Wolfs would be your daughter. Am I right?"
Caroline's words hit the mark.
Lisa also angrily said, "You were behind the fire at City H Hope Orphanage, weren't you? Mia, those children were innocent. They were all living beings!"
